Brother-in-law?

Carson Flores turned his head in astonishnt, looking at the three uninvited guests who had barged into the small courtyard.

Leading them was a middle-aged man in his forties, with a proud expression and a frivolous gaze. Behind him were a young man and woman in their twenties, resembling him slightly, likely his children.

Nico Weaver’s eyebrows subtly furrowed as he stood up and smiled, "Rivenor, you’re back?"

The middle-aged man glanced over Carson and the others, replying carelessly, "Just got back. Heard there were guests and my sister personally ca to greet them, so I ca to see who they are."

Carson’s eyes narrowed slightly; was this the brother of his soon-to-be mother-in-law?

The tone seed sly and sarcastic, mocking perhaps?

Nico Weaver’s eyes flashed with hidden anger, but he restrained himself and replied, "It’s my daughter’s family... this is your Aunt Lorne’s brother, and these two are his children, Vexlor Lorne and Ysara Lorne..."

Although Rivenor Lorne’s attitude seed quite arrogant, always ntioning my sister, it was clear he didn’t truly accept Nico Weaver as a brother-in-law. In his eyes, they were likely poor relatives taking advantage of the situation, but since he was Oraya Lorne’s brother, Carson and the others greeted him, calling him Uncle Lorne.

Rivenor Lorne glanced over the won, surprised, "Brother-in-law, which one is Cristopher?"

Alfred Weaver responded, "Uncle Lorne, that’s ."

Rivenor Lorne scrutinized him for a mont and laughed, "When your dad ntioned your disappearance, you were still a little girl. Now you’re all grown and very pretty."

Rivenor Lorne praised her and then looked at Carson Flores, "Carson Flores, right? Having a Pathist couple like Cristopher, both beautiful and strong, is a blessing."

As soon as Rivenor Lorne said this, Nico Weaver’s face tightened, and Alfred Weaver also showed a subtle change in gaze, wanting to say sothing, but Carson spoke first, "When I t Cristopher, she was a Golden Immortal, and I was only in the Nascent Soul Realm. To , she was like the moon of the Nine Heavens, high above, unattainable. To be able to beco a Pathist couple with her is indeed a blessing."

Rivenor Lorne laughed, "You seem quite strong now; it looks like my brother-in-law has helped you a lot."

Rivenor Lorne’s first comnt was about Carson, but actually also about Nico Weaver, indirectly suggesting their Pathists were strong and beautiful, implying they relied on them.

His second statent was more direct, indicating Carson’s success was due to the help from the woman’s family, implying if there was no help, Carson would be nothing today; the remark had a veiled insinuation.

Standing behind Rivenor Lorne, Vexlor Lorne and Ysara Lorne both showed arrogant expressions. Ysara Lorne looked disdainful, while Vexlor Lorne’s eyes lit up when looking at Shirley Miller.

Rivenor Lorne naturally noticed Shirley Miller and Cirelle Moonshadow, smiling, "Brother-in-law, who are these?"

Carson Flores confidently introduced, "This is my wife, Shirley Miller, and these are my friends..."

As Carson said this, the faces of the three Rivenor Lorne mbers changed simultaneously.

Rivenor Lorne widened his eyes, "Your wife? What about Cristopher?"

Carson answered, "Cristopher is also my wife, Aunt Lorne knows, why, hasn’t Aunt Lorne told you?"

Carson brought up Oraya Lorne, implying that if Oraya hasn’t said anything, Rivenor Lorne, who relies on his sister, should not speak unnecessarily.

Rivenor Lorne turned in shock, "Brother-in-law, you know?"

Nico Weaver nodded, "The children decide their own matters."

Rivenor Lorne widened his eyes, "Brother-in-law, that’s not right. You are with my sister, and Cristopher is nominally my sister’s daughter. Even if she doesn’t call her mom, she should at least call her aunt. And considering my sister’s status, if Cristopher is sharing a husband with another woman, it wouldn’t look good for my sister’s reputation if word gets out. Brother-in-law, you might not care, but doesn’t my sister care about her reputation?"

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone’s faces changed in unison.

Nico Weaver retorted coldly, "Cristopher is my daughter; who she likes is her choice and none of your concern. If you have any thoughts, focus more on your own family."

When Nico Weaver said this, he glanced at the two standing behind Rivenor Lorne, and they instantly reacted as if bitten by a snake, their faces changing dramatically.

Before Rivenor Lorne could speak, Vexlor Lorne sarcastically replied, "Mr. Weaver, you seem to be hinting at sothing? You couldn’t be referring to our siblings, right? This is the Lorne Family’s matter, and it’s none of your business. Just because you are with my aunt doesn’t an you are part of the Lorne Family with the right to point fingers at us."

Nico Weaver’s face suddenly turned quite unpleasant, wanting to rebuke him, but seeing the fearless attitude of the other side, he felt exhausted.

If the opposing party were of the sa generation, he could just go all out and confront them, regardless of winning or losing; he would not take this unjust treatnt. But the other party was a junior, and if a junior was shaless, how could he act equally shaless, exchanging insults with them?

"Lorne Family?"

Carson Flores chuckled coldly, stepping forward, "I don’t know how powerful the Lorne Family is, but I’m sure their manners are not great. When the elders speak, how can a junior interrupt without respect? Didn’t Uncle Lorne teach you etiquette?"
