"You little rascal..." Guan Danian cursed from behind.
"Alright, it’s almost New Year, if Qingyue wants to play, just let her. Once she’s engaged, she won’t have this freedom," Guan Tongshi said, carrying out so hot water.
"What do you know?" Guan Danian frowned. "Qingshu is going to beco an official. As his sister, behaving so improperly every day will only hold him back. And if she doesn’t improve, how can she get engaged? Do you hope she’ll marry a peasant?"
Guan Tongshi couldn’t say anything more.
"I’m telling you, go talk to her. If she keeps being so irresponsible, then marry her off early to save face for the family. I’ll just pretend I don’t have this daughter," Guan Danian glared at Guan Tongshi.
Guan Tongshi opened her mouth but could only respond with a reluctant "Okay."
Guan Qingyue ran all the way to Ma Gouzi’s house but didn’t dare to approach, only watching from a distance. If possible, she’d need Wang Baozhu’s help, since it was her idea after all.
But after waiting for a long ti, she didn’t see a trace of Wang Baozhu, only Tian Jinhua and Ma Gouzi coming out, while Ma Laifu was still at ho, so she couldn’t go directly to him.
"Could she really be locked up?" Guan Qingyue wondered to herself, and then she ran to the back of the Ma Family house.
The house made of ramd earth was low and dark, but the rear window was still a bit high for Guan Qingyue, so she moved two stones over to stand on.
Many families in the village had renovated their houses, with tall and spacious structures made of blue stone and red brick, but those still living in old houses were either waiting their turn—building crews had to go from house to house—or lacked the money for renovations.
The Ma Family naturally didn’t have the money, and the back window was covered with paper, not replaced for a while, so there were already so holes.
Guan Qingyue stood on the stones, tiptoeing, thinking if Wang Baozhu was inside, she’d call her out. But as she peered through the back window, her eyes suddenly widened...
Inside, two people were on the kang doing sothing indescribable. Though she couldn’t see their faces clearly, the voices were familiar.
"Father-in-law, you’re much better than your useless son..." Wang Baozhu’s voice.
"You slut, let’s see if I won’t kill you! You’re disgracing our Ma Family."
"If you’d co sooner, Father-in-law, I wouldn’t have gone to soone else’s bed. As for disgrace, is what you’re doing now so kind of honor?"
"Shut up!" Ma Laifu’s suppressed voice, followed by slapping sounds.
"If you have the guts, kill ..."
"No, I won’t kill you, I’ll screw you to death every day..."
Guan Qingyue was stunned, not knowing what to do for a mont, even forgetting she was standing on the stones. She lost her balance and fell, instinctively yelping "Ah," but quickly covered her mouth, enduring the pain as she scrambled up and ran.
The people inside naturally heard the commotion. Ma Laifu hurriedly got up, threw on clothes, and went to check the back window, but there was no one outside.
Wang Baozhu, however, was not afraid; instead, she looked at Ma Laifu with a sarcastic expression: "Father-in-law, are we still doing this? If not, I’m going to sleep."
Ma Laifu had no mood to continue, hurriedly dressed, and went out the door. No one was around, but beneath the back window, there were two stones stacked up—clearly, soone had been peeking.
