Karl moved to engage the massively oversized plague demon.
The creature dwarfed everyone in the group except him, and might have actually been larger than the other dragons, even if they had transford. At least by pure mass.
Karl's claws raked down the front of the demon, and its rotting flesh split open to disgorge dozens of smaller demons, hardly larger than a goblin, but bloated and covered in toxic sli.
With their small army of undead, the summoned creatures quickly moved to keep the new additions from attacking the group, while everyone else focused on trying to damage the boss.
While staying away from the stomach.
The last thing that they wanted was to continually add more monsters to the fight, no matter how much it actually damaged the boss.
The rest of the hide was extrely durable and thick, but the belly was bloated and cracked, the obvious spot to attack, if not for the fact that the demon seed to be filled with smaller demons, and they were slowly crawling out of the wounds that Karl had made.
[It's like soone popped a spider egg sack.] Rae laughed.
That was actually an apt description, the way that the smaller plague demons were spawning out of the body of the larger boss.
Then, as suddenly as they started, the flow stopped.
[Got it. It's a skill, not a body full of them. Nullify is keeping them under control.] Cara announced.
Leo ntally cheered as he realized that these would now be an option for Epic Golem summons. They were kind of stinky, but they had a skill to make more stinky things, and that would chase away anything that wanted to bother him.
He hadn't mastered that spell yet, but if Karl taught him later he was sure that he could do it.
Karl had to admit that they would be a great option for many other situations. They were gross, but they spread a plague effect, and they could spawn
summoned plague demons.
Perfect for mass area control.
Other than that, the damage done by this boss was kind of sad. It had a toxic breath attack, a tentacle arm whip, and that was about it. The real danger was in being overrun by the mob spawn, and the massive amount of damage that it could take.
This was a whole new type of demon to them, so there was no advantage from [Predation] until they had been fighting it for a while. They had so damage stacked up from [Rampage], but the damage reduction of the boss was slowing the effects of even that.
"This is insane! How much damage are we going to have to do to this thing before it starts actually getting seriously injured?" One of the Lycans complained.
"We're a quarter of the way through its health. We will get there." Dana insisted.
In retrospect, that was the wrong thing to say.
Monts later, the boss began to activate more skills, starting with an area [Gravity Slam] that nearly depleted the barriers on all the constructs and wiped out most of Opal's illusions.
He was also immune to poison, so Opal's Toxic Fog was doing nothing.
The butterfly abandoned the tactic and put more into her illusionary army,
which was helping to deal with the last of the added demons.
The Plage Demon's tentacle whip suddenly grew spikes, and a wave of Golems went flying, even with [Auto Parry] active.
They took minimal damage, but the knock back effect was not negated by the parry.
"Dammit, this thing is insane. Karl, try attacking the stomach again, that seed to do the most damage." Dana instructed.
The rest of the group wondered if she was secretly the crazy one, but when Karl focused on the gut of the boss and Cara spamd [Nullify] to stop the additional spawns, the damage began to stack up exponentially.
"That's the trick. The boss has a weak point, but it normally spawns hundreds of little demons. Everyone, change targets." Dana ordered.
With everyone on the sa target, the boss' health was dropping like a rock, and the monster spawn effect only happened every five seconds. More than enough ti for Cara to keep it under control.

Everyone in the group stared at the System Notifications.
How could they be the first to kill the boss? There were groups who had been
in here for hours before they entered. So should be out soon, not just
starting on the first boss.
And it wasn't an extra boss.
The first platform was empty, and the boss had co to them the mont that
they cleared all the trash mobs up to the second boss.
So, you couldn't skip a boss and do them all at the end, you had to do the first
one before you got to the second boss.
"Everyone, catch your breath. It will reset our stacking damage buff if we pause, but everyone needs a break, or we're going to end up having to do back
to back bosses.
Take the ti to eat as well. The refreshing ability will keep your stamina up,
but it doesn't cancel hunger." Karl warned.
Swag nodded. "Good call. I knew that I wasn't making a mistake to give you the group leader role. Now, what is for lunch? I've got sandwiches from the cafeteria if anyone wants to trade."
The Lycans laughed at the antics of the Clan's Moron, but Karl patted him on
the shoulder.
"Fear not. We have a Mystic Cook on staff, and I prepared for this outing. We've got a full spread to go with your sandwiches. Or you can just have soup and
sandwiches for lunch.
Or is this a midnight snack?"
They had been at dinner when they got the news, and they'd been in the dungeon for hours already. It certainly wasn't early in the evening anymore.
"Doesn't matter what we call it. But do you have any more of those cupcakes? One appeared in my pocket the last ti that I visited, and it was amazing." Karl winked at him. "I will give the chef your complints. Yes, we have more.
What flavour did you get?"
[And what did Cara find in your pockets?] Tian joked.
[Nothing, or she wouldn't have given him the poverty token cupcake of
sympathy.] Rae laughed.
[Sister Rae knows.] Leo agreed.
Sister Rae was wise. Plus, her undead were pretty cool. He wouldn't mind
having a whole bunch of sharks to go with his Crocolisks, but Undead didn't
seem right.
