He managed to kick my stomach and I fell against the wall. His kick was strong enough that my stomach felt sick. Blood slipped from the corner of my lips and I wiped it away, looking at him with a faint smile.

"That's all your strength?" he approached slowly and lifted his sword to swing it at , but I quickly rolled to the side so the blade struck the ground instead of .

"Bastard…." he cursed when his sword failed to hit .

"This ti I won't let you go," I said, staring sharply at him, and he smiled faintly back at .

I stood up and pulled my sword. I was ready to fight him.

Our eyes locked onto each other. There was a flash of hatred in his eyes, but I did not hesitate to face him.

I knew this demon was of a higher rank than the previous ones, but that was not a reason to retreat.

"Hiyaylaaaa……" we both charged forward, raising our swords. The clash of steel echoed throughout the place.

I was thrown back. My body hit the concrete wall and pain shot through my back. His breathing was not heavy as if he had lived for thousands of years, and even when I managed to wound him, he did not seem to feel pain. Fortunately, his sword did not strike my body directly, so I could still endure it.

"You are very weak!" he said as he approached , and I kept staring at him sharply.

I rose slowly and advanced again with my sword raised.

He avoided it as if he already knew every movent I would make.

I did not understand how he could read the pattern of my feet and hands so clearly. I kicked his stomach and tried to slash his neck, but he blocked my sword with his own and my weapon was flung far onto the rocks.

"Hahahahaha you are so easy." His sword lifted, aligned with my eyes. His mouth hissed as he prepared to swing again, slicing the air with the intention of beheading . I could see the reflection of my face on the blade, a split second before it almost touched my neck.

My breath caught as he stood directly in front of . If he stepped forward, my throat would be pierced.

Quickly I kicked his sword away, sending it flying.

His fist clenched in fury as he tried to punch my face, but I blocked his hand.

"You are truly a bastard." His face suddenly turned red, a sign of uncontrollable anger.

My necklace pulsed red and suddenly I felt my blood flow rapidly, making my head dizzy.

I narrowed my eyes, and an unknown shadow crossed my mind. My fists tightened and the veins seed ready to burst from my skin.

I opened my hand and my sword flew back to as if pulled by a magnet.

I opened my eyes and now the demon stood before in his true form. This was the real prostrated demon. I no longer felt fear, and my hatred toward him was real.

"Let's finish everything now!" I attacked brutally. He beca overwheld when my ancient fire blood began to dominate .

I felt the heat of the ancient fire surge through , yet my hands still gripped my sword tightly. He struggled against my attacks, and I managed to slash his neck.

He was cut, but he scread loudly.

"Crashhhh…. jleb….. akhhhh." Blood flowed, though not much, yet he scread as if his life were being torn away.

He held his neck trying to stop the bleeding.

"You have truly made furious." He tore a piece of cloth and wrapped it around his neck.

I watched silently, smiling widely.

"You fear death, yet you are a demon who kills without hesitation." Then I attacked again. He struggled, and when he tried to grab my necklace, I deflected him and cut off his hand.

At first he stared silently at his severed hand lying on the ground. Blood poured endlessly. He did not scream, did not show pain, but stared at in disbelief.

"You dare to do that?" he said sharply.

'Do they not feel pain? Why are they still alive?' that question echoed in my mind.

"Cih... do you think cutting my body ans you've killed ?" I remained silent.

He picked up his sword with his left hand and attacked again.

I felt fire gather in my palm. When he thrust his sword toward my heart, I released my sword and flas burst from my hands, throwing him far away.

I pulled my sword back and with that force it shot straight into his heart.

He groaned in pain, trying to pull it out, but I clenched my fists and closed my eyes, slowly pushing the blade deeper.

I did not know what was happening, but I followed my instinct. A dark shadow passed through my mind and I followed it.

He continued groaning, trying to remove the sword, but I kept pressing as if I stood directly before him, driving it deeper into his heart.

"Akkkkhhhh…. Xanders you cursed crea…"

"Akhhhh…. that ancient fire should be mine."

"Aaaaaaa…….akh…….."

When I pressed harder, he suddenly vanished, though his blood remained before my eyes.

I walked slowly, slling the rotten scent of blood. My sword lay on the ground, its tip stained red, proof that it had truly happened.

I blinked several tis and looked around. They were gone, but the traces of battle remained. It was not a dream, but reality, and I did not know whether to smile or drown in guilt.

"They are after my ancient fire," I said calmly, then stabbed my sword into the ground as if cleaning the blood from it.

After confirming they were gone, I walked again. Finding Farel was my goal. They had taken the diamond from the Elf clan, and I could not investigate further. I had to save Farel and leave this place for now.

Kael was gone sowhere. I walked through the corridor.

Ahead was a door connecting the underground passage to the palace, where many corpses lay scattered.

My lips could not speak. The stench was overwhelming. Blood pooled on the floor and walls were red. Even children had been slaughtered brutally.

There was no one here.

"Farel, where are you?" I shouted, but found nothing. Then faintly I heard soone crying.

I slowed my steps and searched for the sound.

I saw a young boy holding back tears, standing before a middle-aged woman. Perhaps his mother.

"Hey….." I called, and he turned.

"Help …"

In front of was a ten-year-old boy, his hands covered in blood, dried blood on his face.

"Co with ." He hesitated after seeing my appearance. Blood stained my face and clothes.

"Are you a good person?" he asked nervously.

I did not answer and walked away. He slowly stood up and followed.

When I turned back, I saw he was struggling to walk.

His leg was badly wounded, swollen and bleeding, as if soone had held him back from escaping.
