Chapter 715: Chapter 663 Death
“But… but General Manager, there’s a ti difference with over there, their banks haven’t even opened for business yet—there’s no way to transfer the money over,” one of the traders reminded.
“Useless, all of you are useless!” Tony pointed at everyone and cursed, then let out a few heavy breaths angrily, “Sell the real estate! Mortgage the real estate for ! Right now! I must win! I absolutely cannot lose!”
The trader who was scolded didn’t dare say more, imdiately began mortgaging all of the Williams family’s real estate in Hong Kong, and soon a bank accepted all the real estate Tony had mortgaged.
“Hmph! Now there’s one hour left until the market closes! It’s this one hour! I want to turn heaven and earth upside down! I want to win everything!” Tony told all the traders, then continued to invest the money from the sold real estate.
An hour later, the money Tony threw in vanished without a trace, like a clay ox entering the sea. He stared at the stock market screen, locked in a sea of dismal green, completely stunned. It took him several minutes to co back to reality, then he picked up the phone and called Ma Hongtao: “Ma Hongtao! What’s going on? Where’s the capital from the Qu and Lin families? Why hasn’t Liu Hun fallen into the trap?”
To Tony’s complete surprise, the voice that ca from the other end of the phone was not the servile tone of Ma Hongtao but the arrogant tone of Liu Hun, “Tony, you’re too naive to want to play with . ‘A small victory relies on wisdom, a great victory relies on virtue,’ you don’t understand this saying at all. Thinking you can win with these scams, you are really too naive.”
“Liu Hun! So you knew all along! So you had already bought off that dog Ma Hongtao!” Tony yelled into the phone, now finally understanding why he had suffered a complete defeat.
“Arrogance without talent is stupidity,” Liu Hun defined Tony simply.
“Liu Hun! Don’t be too arrogant! If I ever see you, I will tear you to pieces!!!” Tony roared into the phone, unable to contain his anger.
“Really?” Liu Hun’s words ca through both the phone and from the doorway. Tony turned around abruptly while holding the phone, only to see Liu Hun, Li Jiasheng, and Ma Hongtao standing at the entrance together.
“You dare to deliver yourself to my doorstep!” Tony rolled up his sleeves and charged at Liu Hun.
“Young man, don’t do anything stupid!” Liu Hun warned Tony.
Already red with rage, Tony wasn’t listening, swinging his fists as he lunged at Liu Hun. In just five seconds, Liu Hun had subdued Tony, then kicked him away.
Tony stumbled but managed to steady himself, avoiding falling face-first. Furious, he turned back to Liu Hun and the others, “Alright, you win! You’ve proven you’re ruthless and sneaky! This isn’t over; we’ll see.”
Liu Hun sat down on the sofa with a smile, then said to Tony, “Maybe so!”
“Get out! Who let you sit on my sofa?” Tony pointed and yelled at Liu Hun, knowing he couldn’t physically beat him, so all he could do was shout.
“Your sofa? Is there anything here that belongs to you?” Liu Hun asked Tony with feigned curiosity.
Seeing Liu Hun’s deanor, Tony was itching with hatred and continued to warn him, “Get out right now, or I’m calling security! Liu Hun, even though you’ve won, it doesn’t an you can run amok on my turf.”
“Your turf?!” Liu Hun echoed curiously, then said to Li Jiasheng beside him, “Jiasheng, show him the docunt.”
Li Jiasheng took out a docunt from his bag and told Tony, “Mr. Tony, several hours ago, you had already sold or mortgaged all your immovable properties in the Port, and the Liu Ran Fund is officially the buyer of all your properties. So, by law, this building now belongs to Liu Ran Fund, which ans Mr. Liu Hun.”
“So, please leave,” Liu Hun said, crossing his legs comfortably.
Tony was seething, so much so that he was at a loss for words. He hadn’t expected that the conspiracy he ticulously planned would eventually backfire on himself.
“Do you know how you lost?” Liu Hun stood up and asked Tony.
Tony looked at Liu Hun with cold eyes full of hatred, silent.
“Listen to this.” After saying that, Liu Hun took out a recording pen given to him by Josephine, and played it for Tony.
Tony listened with mounting shock, quickly realizing that Josephine had also switched to Liu Huyi’s side, “That woman!”
“I’ve already played this recording for the Qu and Lin families, so this counts as a joint effort from our three houses,” Liu Hun patted Tony’s shoulder and continued, “and you have already completely betrayed us. Don’t even think about achieving your goals by harming others—that’s the lesson your tuition has bought you! Now pack your things and get the hell out!”
Tony took one last look at Liu Hun, committing his face to mory, then turned and left his office.
After Liu Hun had devoured all of Tony’s influence in Hong Kong, he suddenly received a ssage from the General Staff ordering him to imdiately head to Beijing. The ssage didn’t elaborate on anything else.
Liu Hun was well aware of his Major General status; he had to obey commands from the General Staff, and although he had so doubts, he still had to execute the order and head to Beijing imdiately. Because it involved General Staff secrets, he told no one about it, but just to be safe, he brought along the plasma that had been stored with Uncle Qi, and boarded the small plane arranged for him by the General Staff, starting his journey to Beijing.
Sitting on the plane, Liu Hun looked down at the blue sky below and couldn’t shake a persistent unease, unsure of what exactly he was worried about.
“Major General Liu, would you like a cup of tea?” The flight attendant offered Liu Hun a cup of tea.
Liu Hun snapped out of his complex reverie with a nod and, seemingly to calm his nerves, thoughtlessly drank the tea in one gulp.
Less than five minutes later, Liu Hun suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous; he imdiately knew sothing was terribly wrong. Panic set in. Could the General Staff be moving against him? There must be sothing in the tea—why else would his body fail to resist? A series of questions besieged his mind, causing uncontrollable cold sweats.
“Major General Liu Hun, I know what you’re thinking,” suddenly a man appeared before Liu Hun, dressed in a simple uniform without any ranks, but his aura suggested he was not an easy man to deal with.
“Who are you?!” Liu Hun, clutching his aching abdon, asked the newcor with feigned composure.
“Who I am is not important. What’s important is who you are,” the man said with a smile, then stood in front of Liu Hun and continued, “Did you think your unique constitution could fool everyone? The General Staff thoroughly investigated you the mont you were recruited; with all those strange incidents happening to you, did you really think the General Staff wouldn’t take notice? Why do you think all those patients with terminal diseases recovered after coming into contact with you?” The man said, and then leaned in close to Liu Hun, “You should not exist in this world, the General Staff will not allow soone like you to exist.”
“Is this General Xia’s doing?” Liu Hun asked, finding it hard to believe that Xia Mingren would be behind this.
The man shook his head and said regretfully, “He’s no longer the Chief of the General Staff. As for what happened, I think there’s no need for you to know anymore.” After speaking, the man glanced at his wristwatch, stood up straight, and said to Liu Hun, “You once underwent a secret training by the General Staff, resulting in the loss of mory from that period. The reason is that the General Staff wanted to study you and find a way to counteract you in case you ever beca uncontrollable.”
“So… the tea you gave …”
Liu Hun didn’t finish his question, and the man nodded and said, “Exactly! This is the General Staff’s latest achievent. With Xia Mingren off the scene, you too should disappear. The additive in your tea was designed to completely neutralize your poison-resistant constitution. You’ll be left a total invalid, unable to even live like a normal person.”
“Just sit back and ‘enjoy’ the process of incontinence and becoming an invalid,” the man told Liu Hun, walking to the cabin door and strapping on a parachute. “Liu Hun, once you beco powerless and an invalid, this small aircraft will explode midair, and you will vanish from this world without a trace, forever. Goodbye!”
With a whoosh, the man opened the cabin door, looking out at the blue sky and Bai Yun, estimating where he should land from his parachute jump. Suddenly, with a bang, sothing violently hit him from behind, and the man was sent flying into the sky like a thrown glass bottle.
Utterly astonished and disoriented, the man felt a cold chill as he plumted hundreds of ters through the air. It took him a good while, gasping for breath, to stabilize his mind and finally pull his parachute open. As he looked back, he realized that the person who had struck him and was now clinging to his back was Liu Hun.
“Liu Hun! Let go of ! Let go now!” the man struggled, worried that he wouldn’t land accurately at the designated pick-up spot due to the hanging Bai Yun below.
“No way! If we’re going to die, we’ll die together!” Liu Hun said wearily, feeling his strength draining. He was worried he might close his eyes at any mont, release his grip, and crash to his death.
“Fine! You asked for it! I’ll still take your life once we hit the ground!” the man threatened viciously. His hands were tied, needing to steer the parachute to land near the pick-up spot, so he couldn’t do anything about the parasite-like Liu Hun for the ti being, but once they landed, Liu Hun’s ti would be up.
Liu Hun clearly understood the danger he was in. The cold high-altitude wind slapped against his face, reviving his drowsy senses. He knew that once they landed, his weakened body would not be a match for this man, and as the man he was clinging to couldn’t move his hands now, this was Liu Hun’s best opportunity to deal with him.
Liu Hun wrapped his limbs tightly around the man and said with a cold laugh near his ear, “I won’t give you the chance to land safely.”
“What did you say?” The wind was howling in the man’s ears, and he couldn’t quite make out what Liu Hun was saying. Just as he asked, a sudden sharp pain struck his throat, followed by a spray of warm blood.
Before the man could even feel the pain, his head twisted, and he saw that the spoon that had been in the tea cup was now in Liu Hun’s hand, and the other end had pierced in and out of his throat, coated with blood.
The ground below grew larger and clearer, but to Liu Hun and the man, the scenery faded into a blur. The two n crashed into the tumultuous stream below with a “thud,” unconscious in an instant—Liu Hun, already weakened by the drug, was instantly knocked out by the cold water.
