Ethan couldn’t help but be surprised that Cain’s loyalty and opinion suddenly shot up to a hundred.

But he didn’t dwell on it.

From the determination he saw in the young man’s eyes, he knew it was only a matter of ti before he tried to enlist in the guard.

Turning to Alaric, Ethan ordered coldly. "Prepare the guard; we’ll be leaving in thirty minutes."

He was angry, and what better way to relieve his rage than by killing a bunch of damned Green Skins and a traitor.

"As you wish." Alaric’s lips curved into a smile.

He seed just as excited as Ethan for that mission.

After all, for both n, they were about to eliminate an annoying ant.

"Ethan..." As the guard marched out to the barracks and began to prepare, Ethan felt a gentle tug on his sleeve.

When he turned his face, he saw Alice, clearly shaken.

"Is everything really okay?" she asked, her eyes trembling. "I can feel the murderous intent in Alaric’s eyes."

Ethan took a mont before answering, his mind filled with thoughts no one there could read.

"Everything’s fine." His lips finally parted, a subtle smile spreading across his face. "Your man has a plan, so please, just trust , okay? We’ll be back before nightfall, and with all the prisoners who were captured by those damn goblins."

Alice lowered her head.

Despite the confidence Ethan exuded, it was hard to shake the tightness in her chest.

But in the end, what could she do?

"Eight o’clock at night... if you’re not back by eight, I’ll co get you..." she whispered, cupping his face and then kissing him.

Their bodies pressed against each other, their tongues entwining as they let themselves be consud by passion.

Evelyn, who had been watching silently, turned her face away, blushing softly.

When Alice finally broke free from Ethan’s arms, she approached.

"He won’t die, not with by his side." The tanned beauty flashed a confident smile as she hugged Alice, their breasts pressing together where their bodies t.

"I know he won’t..." Alice returned the hug.

After about twenty minutes, the ten guards led by Alaric appeared.

Their eyes were focused and their weapons, sharp.

None of them were afraid to face one hundred and fifty goblins.

When they left Goldenveil, it was around ten in the morning and the sun was already high in the sky.

"Is this the route you took, my lord?" Alaric asked, standing right beside Ethan.

His grip on his sword was tight, as if he were fighting off anxiety.

"Yes, is sothing wrong?" Ethan shifted his gaze, staring coldly at Alaric.

"No. It’s the fastest route, but also the one that gives us the highest chance of being detected."

"Hm..." Ethan brought his hand to his chin, thinking for a mont.

"If you know a better route, lead the way." He finally spoke, nodding and drawing a smile from Alaric.

He and his n seed, apparently, to be planning to attack him only after clearing out the goblins.

If Ethan was correct, Alaric was likely planning to duel with Evelyn while his n assassinated him.

After that, they could simply all go after Evelyn at the sa ti.

A despicable tactic.

Exchanging glances with Evelyn, both kept their guard up, yet appeared relaxed.

In Alaric’s mind, both Ethan and Evelyn were about to fall into a trap with no escape.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t notice the smirk Ethan had been wearing throughout the entire journey.

When they arrived a little over two kiloters from the goblin camp, they began to organize themselves.

Incense to mask the scent and confuse the goblins’ keen senses was burned at four different points around the camp.

At the sa ti, the two guards carrying bows followed the sa route Ethan and Evelyn had taken weeks earlier, when they ca to scout out the goblin camp.

From up there, they had a pri view of the entire camp and, most importantly, of the guards responsible for alerting the rest of the camp to attacks.

Since it was around noon, almost one o’clock in the afternoon, the goblins were sleeping. This was common for their race, which generally operated on two sleep shifts.

One at noon, and another during the early morning, reserving the afternoon and early evening for hunting.

Naturally, they kept guards with horns that were used to wake everyone in case of attacks.

Since Goldenveil’s weakening had led to almost no retaliation against them, the number of guards had decreased significantly, with only four awake at any given ti.

If those four were eliminated, they could begin slaughtering the goblins before they even had ti to react.

While the two archers took their positions and readied their bows, the rest of the group spread out evenly around the field.

They needed to position themselves so they could react and help one another to avoid being surrounded, while also having escape routes in case everything went wrong, allowing them to simply retreat and prevent a complete wipeout.

Ethan took the right flank, between Evelyn and Alaric.

The captain of the guard even tried to separate the two, but sensing the murderous intent of the powerful, tanned beauty, he could do little more than back off.

When they reached a few ters from the camp, already within sight of the goblins guarding the place, they waited.

At the foot of the mountain, the two archers exchanged glances, realizing that everyone else was already in position.

They rose from their hiding place and then channeled their aura.

The bows creaked as they pulled the strings, aligning the arrows with the creatures on the horizon.

A thin layer of aura surrounded their bodies, flowing toward the bows and increasing the power and resistance of the arrows they fired.

After a mont’s hesitation, both fired at the sa ti.

Two arrows tore through the air, aid at the heads of the small, ugly greenish creatures.

They didn’t even have ti to scream. One arrow struck one in the eye while the other pierced the heart of the other.

Quickly, the two archers readied their bows again and fired.

The third goblin died just as quickly, but the fourth arrow missed any vital organs.

Blood spilled, and the goblin fell to the ground with an arrow lodged in its shoulder.

It tried to grab the horn to blow it, but before it could even open its mouth, an arrow had already pierced its throat.

The creature could only writhe in agony, unable to make a sound as it drowned in its own blood.

Seeing the four dead goblins, Ethan stood up.

It was ti.
