Now reading: Chapter 799 - 7: Netherworld Overlord from The Growth of a God, a Eastern novel by Lazy Zero.

"What is happening in the sky?"

"Is that... the aura of the Netherworld?"

"What’s going on, why did the sky suddenly turn dark?"

...

Amidst the rising exclamations, the Mountain and Sea People in Yungong City all noticed the battle occurring above them.

When Thutmose forcibly unfolded his Nether Realm in this world, the sun over half the sky was naturally obscured.

Soon after, influenced by those Nether auras, thousands of lost souls appeared in Yungong City.

In fact, similar situations occurred in cities covered by the Nether Realm.

The only relief was that the Mountain and Sea Realm had a unique Reincarnation System, with clear boundaries between life and death.

The truly powerful and threatening souls had long been ferried to the Netherworld, awaiting reincarnation as living beings once more.

The remaining awakened souls were mostly too weak to pose any threat, being re remnants of souls.

"Amon’s counterattack has arrived!"

In the highest prison of the Arctic Celestial Cabinet, Amon’s Incarnation said with a smile.

Even here in the extre northern lands, the anomaly of the sky half-covered by the Nether Realm could still be clearly witnessed.

At this mont, not only Amon, Yao Guang, and Huai Shen were within the prison.

Tianyou, the contemporary leader of the Mountain and Sea Civilization, known for his eccentricity, was also standing outside the cell, looking in horror at the anomaly unfolding outside.

"Who is it?"

Fortunately, Tianyou, worthy of his experience in seeing great events, quickly gathered himself after a brief surprise and turned to ask.

Only a god could cause such an anomaly in the world, and Amon’s Incarnation surely knew who had arrived.

"Since Anubis defected with Horus, Netherworld King Osiris was stripped of the Death God’s mantle."

"In today’s Thebes, the one holding the powers of death is my true body’s father, Thoth, known as the God of Wisdom and the most powerful Moon God."

"He was originally the oldest Clerk of the Netherworld, the Judge before Anubis."

"With Thoth’s authorization, any god could possibly wield the Death God’s power."

When speaking here, Amon’s Incarnation paused slightly before continuing.

"However, there aren’t many gods who can simultaneously earn the trust of Thoth and my true body."

"Moreover, for that god to co to this world without my guidance, sothing must have been sacrificed."

"I think... the only one willing to make such a sacrifice would be my foolish brother."

When Amon’s Incarnation ntioned his brother, the previous indifference and jest in his eyes were replaced by deep helplessness and sadness.

Because he himself had co to this world as a sacrifice, naturally resonating with similar emotions.

"Your brother?"

Amon’s Incarnation’s brother was naturally Amon’s brother.

Upon confirming this point, Tianyou imdiately pursued further.

"What is his na?"

A god’s na not only holds power but also reveals their dominion and weaknesses.

Tianyou, knowledgeable about gods, understood better than anyone that knowing a god’s na is the beginning of understanding them.

"Thutmose, his na is Thutmose."

"He was Thoth’s most overlooked child, the current Pharaoh, the Grand Duke of the Netherworld, and Anubis’s successor."

"However, he has an even more important identity - a blood relative of the Goddess of Order and Justice, Maat."

Seemingly knowing what Tianyou wished to understand, Amon’s Incarnation brushed off his earlier helplessness and sadness, whispering with a smile.

"Within our Divine Pantheon, Maat is an intangible yet supre existence."

"Her laws uphold the entire Pantheon’s operation, and even the ’Feather of Truth’ used to weigh the deeds of the deceased, is one of Maat’s feathers."

"Most crucially, Maat is Ra’s daughter, a God of Truth even Amon dares not easily offend."

......................................................

Boom! Boom! Boom!

An almost endless army of undead clashed with those golden beetles.

At this mont, the huge gap between the golden beetles and the souls beca apparent.

If these souls were heroes who had touched the Ascension Ladder in life, then the golden beetles were genuine demigods.

The gap between them was visibly vast, far beyond what Thutmose could imagine challenging.

After all, "vast numbers" never equated to "extrely poor quality."

These golden beetles were crafted ticulously by Aten using the technology of the Artificial God, through High-dinsional Expansion.

Looking around, each golden beetle here was a carefully carved and designed Divine Power Crystal.

Despite their unassuming size, practically each held the divine power to alter world rules, untainted demigods.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

As the golden beetles began expanding outward, the Nether Realm was visibly dissipating.

Not just Aten and Thutmose, even Batis nearby wore a shock of disbelief.

Batis had personally witnessed how Aten had created these Sacred Beetles.

Most of the ti, Aten rely let the Sacred Beetles serve as his assistants, helping him conduct a myriad of experints.

Never did Batis imagine that once these unassuming Sacred Beetles entered combat mode, they would exhibit such a terrifying destructive power.

Thinking back to his close encounters with the Sacred Beetles, Batis couldn’t help but feel a chilling dread.

It was akin to a person suddenly realizing the toy gun they’ve been handling, even pulling the trigger, was, in fact, a real gun without bullets.

This impact and awe struck even Batis to the core.

"How is it possible? You’re clearly not even a god!"

Watching helplessly as the Sacred Beetles dispersed his Undead Army, Thutmose was amazed, surpassing Batis by many tis.

The body was rely a mortal flesh, yet it commanded such a large number of demigods.

Most extraordinary was that Aten showed no signs of divine power corrosion or adverse effects, as though he indeed owned this divine power.

"A god? That depends on how you define ’god’."

Staying calm throughout, Aten chuckled gently, his tone neither scornful nor dismissive, bearing only the serenity of one who glimpsed the world’s truth.

"I may not be a high-dinsional lifeform, but I have mastered divine power and created a divine body."

"Maybe it’s nothing in the eyes of truly powerful gods, but it’s enough to deal with a half-baked god like you."
