Dae-Hyun waved his hand dismissively and then said.

"No worries, Brother Sol, take all the ti you need. But anwhile, why don’t we play a ga of chess to pass the ti? Does Brother Sol know how to play?"

Sol nodded, and Dae-Hyun wasted no ti in calling for soone.

A disciple in green and white checkered robes soon appeared.

Sol recognized him as the one who had first brought the invitation to him, as well as one of the disciples that led him to the courtyard.

"Brother Sol, you’ve t my friend Wei-Sun already."

"Young Master, this lowly one can never dare call himself your friend."

Dae-Hyun looked at Wei-Sun and said with a frown.

"We’ve grown up as siblings, at the very least you are my friend if not a brother."

"I’m grateful Young Master thinks of like that."

Wei-Sun cupped his fist and bowed, his expression remaining the sa indifferent expression.

Dae-Hyun smiled bitterly before he turned to Sol and said exasperatedly.

"Brother Sol, do you see what kind of situation I’m in? I really can’t have any friends like a normal person. Thankfully, Brother Sol is now my friend."

After saying that, Dae-Hyun made Wei-Sun leave to retrieve a chessboard.

As Wei-Sun ca back and placed the chessboard down between Sol and Dae-Hyun, Sol found it a funny coincidence that Wei-Sun’s robes match the color and pattern of the chessboard.

"Brother Sol, I’ll let you have the first move."

Sol nodded, then made his move.

As Dae-Hyun was responding to it, Little Zeel’s head suddenly popped out of his robes, and looked at the chessboard before looking up at Sol.

"Awoo!"

Dae-Hyun’s hand that was moving the piece paused, and he seed taken aback by Little Zeel’s appearance but then asked curiously.

"Brother Sol, what kind of Spirit Beast is that?"

Sol patted Little Zeel’s head and said.

"It’s okay Little Zeel; you can go back to sleep."

Little Zeel seed hesitant but still did as Sol said.

Turning to answer Dae-Hyun, Sol responding.

"I’m not sure, he’s a new species from the Demonic Forest."

"Is that so..."

Dae-Hyun resud making his move, however, he oddly tapped the chessboard two tis with his piece.

Sol finally decided to ask him about this strange action, but before he could he heard Dae-Hyun ask.

"Brother Sol, I heard rumors that you were the mysterious second disciple of the Third Grand Elder. Is it true?"

It was Sol’s turn to move, but as he held the piece to make his move, sothing ca over him. An urge to answer Dae-Hyun’s question with complete honesty.

He was a friend, so he should be able to answer a simple question like this to help his friend’s curiosity.

"No, I’m not the second disciple of the Third Grand Elder."

"Oh, is that so..."

Dae-Hyun nodded in understanding, but as he made his move he asked again.

"Brother Sol, there were also rumors going around about how the conflict between you and Geon-Soo started. Was it really over your bracelets? Is it so great treasure that made him desire them?"

It was Sol’s turn to move again, and he answer in an almost chanical voice.

"Yes, the conflict started because I didn’t want to sell my bracelets to him. And yes, they’re great treasures to . My father gifted them to before he died."

Dae-Hyun shook his head and responded in a slightly angry tone.

"So he wanted to forcefully get his hands on the bracelets Brother Sol cherishes? As a friend, you can request my help for anything Brother Sol."

Sol nodded as he made his move, however, at this point, he didn’t seem like himself. His face was blank, and his movents were done in a very robotic manner.

Wei-Sun, who had not left, remained silent in the corner while observing this bizarre situation.

"Brother Sol, I have so other questions that everyone is curious to find out, I hope that Brother Sol could tell . Who are you? Where did you co from? What is your purpose for entering this Academy?"

Sol robotically made his move after Dae-Hyun while answering with the sa blank expression.

"My na is Sol. I don’t know where I co from, and I entered this Academy to get stronger."

"Oh, I see... But I thought you were from the Barbarian Race, how co you don’t know where you co from?"

At this point, Dae-Hyun no longer needed to make a move, so he casually leaned back and poured himself another cup of wine.

Because Dae-Hyun didn’t move, Sol couldn’t make a move either. But he still answered.

"My father never told where I ca from."

While stirring the wine in his cup, Dae-Hyun took a sip and then said.

"I see... You have the features of a Barbarian, but you hardly look like one. Especially with your skin so pale. Perhaps you aren’t fully a Barbarian from the Eternal Desert. Was your mother an Arkadian or Sakrian?"

"I don’t know who my mother is."

"I see... Looks like there isn’t much about your background. Perhaps you are who you say you are. But I just have one last question. Do you truly believe you can walk in here and break the status quo? You aren’t from any of the Six Holy Sects or the Five Great Clans, do you think you can be compared to us in the Heaven Arena much less soone like Byeong-Ho?"

When Dae-Hyun asked this, his face distorted into a hideous expression as he glared at Sol.

Wei-Sun, off to the side, frowned slightly when he heard Dae-Hyun’s question. He then opened his mouth to say sothing, but Sol’s response made him stop and glance towards him.

"I already broke the status quo. Yes, I think I can be compared to you and everyone in the Heaven Arena as well as Brother Byeong-Ho."

Dae-Hyun sneered at Sol and then growled.

"Who do you think are? You’re nothing, you’re no one. Do you truly believe you have the talent to rival us?"

Sol’s robotic response imdiately ca.

"I think I am myself. Yes, I believe I have the talent to rival you all... In fact, I doubt I can lose to any of you even if I’m missing an arm and a leg."

"You-!!"

Dae-Hyun was enraged by Sol’s words, and he shot up from his seat. But all of a sudden, his expression changed, and he looked at Sol closely.

Seeing that his expression was still blank he relaxed a bit, but suspicion never left his heart.

"Brother Sol, sothing has co up, so we have to cancel our ga of Chess. I hope this friendship of ours will continue in the future. I’ll have soone see Brother Sol out."

Dae-Hyun drank his cup of wine before he tapped the table with it three tis; one extra ti than last ti.

All of a sudden, Sol regained his original expression, and he smiled at Dae-Hyun and stood up.

"It’s unfortunate, but I’ll be eting with Brother Dae-Hyun after the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dinsion."

Sol cupped his fist before he was led out of the pavilion by another servant. But not before taking up the manual.

After he was gone, Dae-Hyun turned and then dropped to his knees in front of Wei-Sun.

"Young Master, please forgive this lowly one for my actions!"
