The Guardian gods Chapter 166

This soldier’s na was Jas, he was just a normal human lucky to get to the second stage and was assigned to be a guard/soldier for his lord. Life has been monotone for Jas for the longest he could rember.

Sotis he wished that sothing would happen and bring a change to his bleak world, all he was stuck doing was guarding the castle gate of his lazy lord who didn’t even put an effort to manage his territory. All his lord does is eat and sleep with won and at the end of the month half of everybody’s effort is transferred over to him.

Jas of course couldn’t complain as compared to the others, he was working for the sa lord and so he was still able to get his own share and live a good comforting life unlike others. Jas rembered how he woke that day adorning his armor and sword.

Walking to the castle to take over his guard position when all of a sudden, the whole world seems to be ending, lightning flashing across the sky, trees uprooting people’s houses, he rembered how he had to take off his armor because of how hot it got. It was later that he got the knowledge that all the commotion was because the gods had awakened from their long slumber.

After that day Jas has always wished for his bleak life back, he rembered the destruction caused just by their awakening and then what was the most scary was how everything went back together, if not for so people who died no one would have believed that sothing like that happened.

Not long after the gods awakening, rumors on wars starting has begun to spread around. He was located on the western continent. At first he thought that the war rumors were false until one day he saw a bird-like figure surrounded with red flas fly away.

He thought nothing of it at first until another figure surrounded with golden flas flew past their kingdom. This figure caused panic in their kingdom just by flying past as he rembered the increase in temperature, he rembered thanking the gods when the figure didn’t stop above them and instead flew off to the distance.

It was later confird that the harpie kingdom people were chasing a traitor who flew into the cursed land, The rumor stated that there was a bit of confrontation with the lord of the cursed land and the leader of the harpies people.

Jas rembered once again thanking the gods that the situation didn’t escalate. At the sa ti Jas ca to hate his weakness, everyday he wakes up and hears rumors he is left scared and looking up at the sky every ti in case sothing happened.

Sotis Jas finds himself laughing at his situation when training and not feeling much progress. But that doesn’t an that he quit as he tells himself "This training might an nothing but i can at least run when the situation gets hard"

One day Jas looked up to the sky to find a small red shining dot there, he wasn’t really surprised anymore at the sight and just accepted it. That was when one of the gods decided that things weren’t already weird enough.

Jas knows Ikenga the god of nature, one of the most known gods in their world as it was because of him that people are able to eat at the end of the day no matter how much the nobles take from them.

His teaching on leaving the forest and trees undamaged helped people who don’t have much at ho. They can go into the forest in search of food and if by so luck you don’t et no strong creature, you are guaranteed to co back with sothing that fills you up for the day.

This sa god who people have always found good natured decided to spawn monsters around them. Jas rembered the horrors on people’s faces when soone you have known all your life suddenly turned into an ugly monster and attacked you.

It took killing few of the monsters before Jas and the others were able to figure out the reason on why the monsters were being spawned and with that revelation, Jas saw the other side of human beings.

He saw as people began realizing that those turned into monsters were those who had done them bad and seeing them turn to monsters was nothing but a joy for them. So civilians even left their ho with tools in hand to help kill those monsters.

That wasn’t such a good decision as Jas confird that even though these monsters were weak, being close to them in a state of excited emotion and no strong will is always a bad decision and that was from his experience when one of his lord sons transford into a monster.

The lord’s son was a good looking monster compared to the rest, he didn’t change drastically like the others. Instead his transformation brought out his beauty more to an astonishing level, he looked sane but his action proved differently.

The lord’s son after his transformation took everyone on his line of sight as soone to prey on, n or won once grabbed by him were undressed as he began going at them. At fist every soldier nearby was confused on what to do as this was a normal behavior for their son lord and his transformation didn’t help the situation as he still looked human.

When they took action when they saw how their lord’s son began growing extra appendages just to grab more people closer to him, what confird it even more was how those grabbed by the appendaged didn’t see it as weird but instead had a look of joy on their face.

Jas rembered unsheathing his sword like the other guards as they pulled in closer, when all of a sudden one of the guards dropped his weapon he ran to the lord’s son with arms open screaming "Here I co lissa"

One of the guard friends was confused and held him back and said "Your wife isn’t here, what are you talking about" In Response to that the guard was instead pushed to the ground as the guard who was screaming lissa began undressing him.

Jas rembered pulling back at the sight when one of his close friends pulled out his bow with the tip on fire as aid for the lord’s son’s head. The lord’s son, so engaged in his play, didn’t pay no mind to the arrow as it struck his head before the arrow exploded.

The lord’s son died with the arrow explosion, Jas rembered the face of everyone looking down at the monster they were frolicking with. That is just the beginning as with people screaming for help the guards and jas left the body as they headed off to face more monsters.

Each monster they fought brough different effects on the people close to it and right now Jas was facing a test of his own will as he was facing the last monster in their territory which is their lord.

Their Lord took the shape of a monster with a big mouth enough to swallow people and the effect around him was making those close to him get hungry and see him as the most delicious al they have ever eaten.

Jas didn’t know how many guard and soldiers who has been eaten by the big mouth once they got close, It took no genius for jas and the other guards to notice that the more the lord swallowed the more his field of effect expanded and the more stronger the effect go the closer you are to him.

Before Jas knew it, it was him and his friend with the bow left. In the eyes of Jas his trusted friend succumbed to the allure of the lord’s monstrous form. His friend’s eyes glazed over with hunger, and he took a step forward, mouth watering.

"Snap out of it!" Jas shouted, lunging forward to grab his friend’s arm. "Rember who you are!"

But it was no use. The grip of the lord’s influence was too strong. With a look of hunger in his eyes, Jas’s friend wrenched free from his grasp and charged towards the lord, oblivious to the danger.

Jas cursed under his breath, He was already struggling keeping his sanity and the thought about escaping was clawing at his mind but looking at his friend about to fall into the big mouth. He knew he couldn’t let his friend beco another victim of the lord’s monstrous appetite.

"Damn it" Jas muttered under his breath as he tightened his hold on his sword with drolls dripping from the corner of his mouth. Jas began advancing towards his lord not knowing he had caught the attention of a god eating an apple while laying down on a huge branch.

"Interesting" Ikenga thought as he watched the human soldier advance towards a cursed monster that also caught Ikenga’s attention. The human soldier might not have realized it but his friend has already been eaten up. This seed to be a catalyst as Ikenga noticed how one of the eyes of the cursed monster flashed with intelligence.
