Three days passed quickly. Under the watchful eyes of the guards, Nolan stayed in prison without causing any trouble.

On the contrary, he seed to be thoroughly enjoying himself. He spent his ti sleeping for twelve hours, eating, and reading books.

The guards were clearly surprised at first, but they soon got used to his routine.

"Nolan, aren't you bored? With your powers, you could easily leave here, couldn't you?"

Malverna's voice ca from the shadows.

Nolan glanced at her and gave a faint smile.

"No need, thanks. I'm more comfortable this way."

Before all the problems he had to deal with, he had even forgotten that his purpose in this world was simply to relax.

And he knew that was impossible to achieve, especially after Elina got involved in the battle for the throne.

So, he was using these three days to rest—without a care in the world, without conspiracies, and without any burden on his shoulders.

Malverna fell silent. She rembered that Nolan was a very lazy person.

All the recent events had almost made her forget that fact.

"In that case, are you planning to stay in this prison? Until when?"

Nolan shook his head. "I don't know. One thing's certain—it won't be long. I'm sure Elina, Rafine, and Seira will help get out soon. Don't worry."

As he spoke, footsteps ca from outside. Rafine, Seira, and Elina entered the room where his cell was located.

"Brother!" Elina called out quickly, her eyes fixed on Nolan, who looked disheveled and exhausted.

Rafine and Seira also looked downcast, especially seeing Nolan's mustache and beard, which had grown thick.

It had only been three days since Nolan was imprisoned, but his appearance already looked pitiful, as if he had been locked up for over a week.

Nolan closed the book in his hand, then stood up and walked toward them.

Contrary to what they had expected, he didn't complain or show frustration. Instead, he looked calm, with a faint hint of hidden relief.

"Welco, all three of you," Nolan greeted casually. "So, any news about this matter?"

Seira nodded and explained gently, "I've heard from Father. Tonight, you'll be returning to the imperial palace. But…"

Her expression turned complicated as she lowered her head in sha.

"You'll face a trial presided over by Father himself. As for the punishnt, I don't know yet. But it'll probably be pretty severe. Even so, don't worry!"

Seira straightened her posture, her gaze turning serious and determined.

"I'll ask Father to reduce your punishnt. If possible… even clear you of all charges."

She knew everything had been part of Nolan's plan, including Aldrian's death. Still, he had done it for her sake.

She didn't want to see Nolan simply thrown into prison.

"Sister Seira is right," Elina chid in, nodding slightly. "I'll also ask Father to reduce your sentence. Trust us, okay?"

"I'll also ask my father, Duke Austin, to intervene. Although I'm not sure it'll work, at least it might make Emperor Ragan think twice," Rafine added reassuringly.

Nolan was touched by their kindness. In truth, he wasn't that worried about the situation.

He was certain the old man had only imprisoned him to teach him a lesson, or at least to calm public opinion.

News of Aldrian's death had surely spread across the entire southern continent and might have even reached the central continent.

By imprisoning him, the imperial palace could show a firm stance to the public.

"Thank you all," Nolan said softly. "I'll rember your kindness."

The three of them felt relieved and exchanged glances.

After talking for a few more monts, they finally decided to leave, leaving Nolan alone in the prison.

Nolan returned to his bed and lay down comfortably. Just as he was about to close his eyes, he suddenly rembered sothing and smiled faintly.

"Malverna," he called out as he slowly sat up again. "Do you want to witness sothing interesting?"

Malverna appeared beside him and asked hesitantly, "Witness sothing interesting? What do you an?"

Nolan kept his smile. "You'll find out later."

...

Night had fallen, and the dark sky hung heavy, covered by ominous black clouds.

The capital of Altheris was the largest, most prosperous, and wealthiest city on the mainland of the Ancient Kingdom of Eron.

It served as a major business hub and the final destination for rchants from every corner of the kingdom.

More importantly, it was known as the safest place in the kingdom. Only a fool would dare cause trouble there.

But that belief was shattered eight days ago. The capital, once praised as the safest place, was devastated by an attack from a group of mysterious n.

Explosions ripped through the city, and buildings such as inns, houses, and shops were consud by a terrifying fire.

The incident left a deep scar on the capital's citizens. Many lost their belongings, their hos, and their loved ones.

The death toll reached ten thousand, the highest number of casualties outside of war.

Although the royal palace provided compensation and applied subtle pressure, it did little to calm the people. Instead, beneath their grief grew overwhelming anger and hatred.

"Bring down Gulvar Lyren! We demand he be held accountable!"

"The Royal Palace must take responsibility for what happened to us!"

"Bring him down!"

"Step down!"

Furious shouts echoed from every corner of the royal capital.

Millions of people joined a massive, terrifying demonstration. Won, children, and even the elderly had taken to the streets.

What should have been a peaceful night had erupted into chaos that shook everyone to the core.

The soldiers tried to hold the crowd back, but it was futile. There were more than a million people, while the soldiers numbered only in the tens of thousands.

Moreover, the soldiers could not take harsh action. If they did, it would only backfire and fuel even greater anger.

Bang!

Bang!

The crowd kept getting more violent. They kicked and hit the palace walls like they were trying to tear them down.

The soldiers did everything they could to hold them back, but it didn't work.

The longer it continued, the more the people's anger intensified.

"What should we do?" a young soldier asked, pressing his body against the palace gate.

His comrades beside him shook their heads, equally unsure of what to do.

They were just ordinary soldiers—not the ones in authority. All they could do was follow orders and hold the gate.

Bang!

Bang!

The pressure from outside grew stronger with each passing mont. The soldiers' faces turned pale with panic and fear.

They could only hope their superiors would take action soon.

Otherwise, not only would the royal palace fall, but they themselves would beco targets of the rage of the millions gathered outside the gates.
