Rex subrged his body in water.

Clot already ford on his wounds to stop the bleeding, but the internal damages were still healing.

He managed to dispel the Sky Judgnt’s residual energy on him, but he still hadn’t recovered properly.

For one, his Soul Artifacts were all cracked from the impact, and he couldn’t summon them. He could, but it’s incredibly taxing on his soul, and the Soul Artifacts aren’t close to one hundred percent. And his body is now suffering from overworking it.

Becoming a Voidal Prince and also overflowing himself with the Blood Moon are not free powers.

It’s not like any of them are his actual power, so his body was weak.

Still at the Eternal Spirit rank, but on the lower echelon for the ti being.

Exhaustion now gripped him.

Lying low like this after going on a murder spree is quite pleasant.

"Haah..." Rex moaned and tilted his head up—resting it on the hard edge. "I can really use so sleep or a bit of rest right now, but I don’t know where I am. Probably best for not to let my guard down. At least not until I got a secluded place to rest in."

"Yes, please."

Rex took out a vial from the inventory filled with thick green liquid.

It was hot to the touch.

He upturned the vial over his head. A line of searing liquid traced his scalp, providing a delicious burn that cascaded down his skin before rging with the pond. He watched, a slow exhale escaping him, as a vivid green stain bled outward through the pond.

Its neutral chill transford into a steaming, dical heat.

Rex subrged again.

But this ti, he dipped his head too, allowing the dical properties to reach every corner of him.

Even though he was separated from the others, he wasn’t worried. Most of his attention was on him, so the others should be more than capable of escaping. There is also Linthia, whom he specifically tasked to get Devo to safety.

And since Amanir said April was fine, then the situation should be more or less handled.

No need for him to fret about it.

Evelyn also seed to be in a manageable situation, so the pack should also be safe.

It was only Kyran who was worrying him since he didn’t answer the summoning, but it’s fine.

Kyran can handle himself.

"How long has it been since I can relax like this?" Rex erged back—and spread his arms along the edge. He glanced at the waterfall, specifically at where the cave was. Then—his sharp eyes traced the slope beside the lake where he fought earlier.

Since he hadn’t cleaned up properly, the blood should still be thick around there.

Only the carcasses were gone.

He ate almost half of them and stored the remaining half in the inventory.

No sign of a problem, that’s good.

Rex gazed ahead at the imposing line of misty monoliths as the sky brightened a little bit, providing a sowhat beautiful horizon. "It’s really quiet here," He smiled, pleased with the silence. "Gistella will probably like this view. If only she were here to enjoy the view and make sleep without care, that’d be perfe—"

Just then, the air shifted.

It was subtle, but his senses were too sharp to miss the sudden change.

"System, scan the area."

"Starlight?" Rex paused for a second, and then his heart sank to the pit of his stomach. "Fuck... How did she find ?"

Rex dashed out of the pond almost instantly, heading to the edge to make his way down.

He didn’t forget to wear simple black pants, as he was practically naked earlier.

Even though his speed wasn’t as fast as normal, he managed to reach the space where the barrier was still forming. He scanned it with the System—and determined the hole he could use to escape. Why am I even running? Oh, right, she must’ve been really pissed.

Attacking the Sky City was basically a betrayal on Rex’s part.

For Rosa, Althea, and Princess Davina, what he did was unforgivable.

He was furious for being betrayed by soone he thought was a friend, and the Blood Moon above was also amplifying his anger. At that mont, he didn’t care about anything and decided to ransack everything, so that happened.

It was his failsafe plan, and he used it prematurely.

Either way, Davina is only acknowledging as an Alpha willingly. Now, after what happened... I’m not sure.

Rex does not have much experience with stronger pack mbers.

As a matter of fact, he only ever tried to make other stronger individuals into a pack mber in this realm. All pack mbers are loyal to him because they were subservient, as he was the Alpha. But for Davina? That might not be the case.

Swish—!

Just then, Rex’s eyes widened as the barrier closed in faster than his speed.

He gritted his teeth and exerted himself to absorb voidal energy.

Like a phantom, he dashed straight at the hole with the Voidal Moonflow Acceleration.

I made it in ti.

Rex cracked a grin and already prepared a route to take in order to flee from Davina.

But as he was about to phase through, a sudden force from the barrier pushed back against him.

Shit, the barrier is bending gravity?!

Swoosh—!

Rex was pushed back hard, sending him rolling across the ground. He looked up at the hole and found it was already closed. Despite his failure, he imdiately turned and climbed back to the waterfall. He can try his luck in the cave.

Inside is a massive nexus of tunnels.

If he were lucky, he could find an underground tunnel to overco the barrier.

As he reached the cave, he ca to an abrupt stop.

"Fuck..." He smiled acutely. "It’s closed off, too. Okay, I can still talk it out with her."

"Leaving so soon?" A cultivated voice called out to him. "I thought you’d found a mont’s peace."

Rex inhaled deeply to calm his nerves—and thought of the things he was going to say. He then leaped down, bursting through the waterfall, and landed on the edge of the crystal lake. Slowly, he straightened his spine and glanced at the figure standing to his right.

Standing behind a thick mist that seed to be pulled by a gravitational force was Princess Davina.

Her heterochromic eyes stared at him with the intensity of a snarling beast.

Everything else about her was shrouded behind the mist.

Okay... I can’t talk my way out. I’m in trouble.

"How did you find ?" Rex asked, trying to sound neutral.

"It seems in re days, I’ve already faded from your mory," She sneered. Her voice was akin to a silken blade, mocking and sharp. "A pity. Or did you simply forget that I, too, hold the moon’s leash? And yet soone saw fit to part the clouds and issue an invitation."

Rex clicked his tongue.

He only opened it for a minute at most, and it was enough for Princess Davina to pinpoint his location.

"Do you have anything to say to ?"

Rex’s attention was snapped back to her again. He paused, thinking of a proper answer.

"I understand that you’re angry at , b—"

"Angry? Do I sound angry?"

She does sound angry.

But the way she frad it made Rex think that she’s not angry.

"Aren’t you angry?"

"No, I’m not. I’m extrely upset."

Her voice trembled at the end, almost like a small growl.

"You suspiciously sound angr—"

Crash—!

Rex was knocked across the lake and slamd into the cavern wall hard, knocking the wind out of his lungs. He was given no ti to recover as an arm pressed against his neck, pinning him hard. His current state is no match for Princess Davina.

Heck, even if he’s not wounded, he won’t be able to overpower her.

System, can she hurt ? Should I really be worried?

Mild quarrel?!

Rex stared at Princess Davina and saw bloodlust behind her eyes.

You call this a mild quarrel? She looked like she was trying to kill !

"Harggh..."

A groan escaped Rex’s mouth as her elbow dug into his neck—and her tails wrapped around his wrists, keeping them by his sides. "You kept in the dark for days," She bared her very long fangs, snarling at him like she wanted to eat him. It looked cute in a way, but that’s beside the point. "And you suddenly decided to ransack the royal bubble and sky city?"

"Damn it, Davina," Rex growled back, eyes glowing red. "I was given no other choice!"

"No other choice?!"

Davina sank her teeth into Rex’s collarbones, giving him an excruciatingly painful love bite.

She even used gravity to pull her fangs deeper into his flesh.

"The empire will be fine! You can tell the Sky People that I went rogue and don’t represent the empire!"

Feeling that Davina was biting harder, Rex exerted his aura with a growl.

His aura knocked so senses into Davina’s body, making it involuntarily realize that he was the Alpha. It gave him the opportunity to grab Davina by her neck and switch places, pinning her to the wall and lifting her up.

"I deliberately let the people of the empire go," Rex said sternly. "So that they can rebuild."

But the eyes that stared back at him remained cold-blooded.

"I am not talking about your destructive tendency toward the empire," Davina whispered chillingly, biting his arm in anger.

Bam—!

Her tails struck Rex’s chest with the force of a hamr, throwing him back.

Rex slid across the ground until his legs slipped onto the descending slope, almost sending him tumbling down like a rock had it not been for him holding onto the edge with his hands. He then raised his gaze, confused, "Then what are you angry about?"

"I am angry about you thinking that I’m weak," Princess Davina floated over the lake gracefully.

"Weak? When did I do that?"

"You deliberately hid yourself from because you were going to go against the empire, didn’t you?"

Of course, that was the reason.

Considering what he was going to do to the empire, to the place where Princess Davina was raised, to the place where her family root was—he assud she wouldn’t be able to help him with good faith, and he wouldn’t bla her.

So, he took it upon himself not put her in a place where she needed to choose.

"Hold on," Rex raised his hand, stopping her. "You’re saying that you’d help if I asked?"

"Even now you’re still looking down on ," Princess Davina’s eyes narrowed into a devastating slit.

She was the one looking down on Rex right now, but she felt the complete opposite.

"I’m confused, not looking down on you," Rex corrected her as he stood back up again. "I’m talking about the total collapse of the empire. Your ho. And even possibly killing millions of innocents. Your family would also be implicated."

Princess Davina didn’t imdiately answer.

She turned to the side, "Sister, show it to him."

Rex frowned when he saw Liliana erge from nowhere with a treasure box floating beside her.

With a wave of her hand, she sent the treasure box towards Rex, dropping it before him.

"Open it," Princess Davina said.

Even when the box was still closed, Rex could already sll the scent of blood. He raised his gaze at Princess Davina, trying to read through her monolithic face, and decided to open it. Once he did, his eyes widened completely.

Inside was a single decapitated head, drained and placed neatly on the soft pillow.

Soone he recognized almost instantly.

"Duke Lorcan...?" Rex stared back at Princess Davina in shock.
