The second pill was the Qi Pill containing Essence Qi. This Qi would rge with the cultivator’s Dantian Qi and refine itself automatically until it reached the sa level of refinent as the Qi within the Dantian. Since neither of them had caught up in their cultivation, both Yan Xiaobao and Wang Julong were classified in the interdiate tier.
The last pill, and the most desired one, was the Qi Refining Pill. It provided a slightly refined Qi within the cultivator’s Dantian. Every student hoped to obtain this type of pill because they relied on it to break through from one level to the next.
Yan Xiaobao joyfully opened his eyes and noticed that he had reached the sixth Constant Star. As he gazed up at the sky, his eyes brimd with excitent. Beneath the sun, a few final rays of light were still descending from the foot of the mountain. Yan Xiaobao decided to watch the last glimrs of sunlight gradually vanish from the heavens.
The moon was full and suddenly emitted a silver brilliance. This radiance turned into tens of thousands of beams of light, shooting down into every courtyard of the mountain.
One of these beams targeted Yan Xiaobao, landing in his hands, revealing a small jade bottle.
Yan Xiaobao was delighted. He gently opened the bottle, and from inside wafted a faint dicinal aroma that reminded him of his parents’ humble shack, where his father used to gather dicinal plants before heading to the city to sell them.
A smile appeared on Yan Xiaobao’s face. Now it was ti to start his plan.
After receiving the Qi Grasping Pill, Yan Xiaobao did not go to sleep. Instead, he moved to his bedroom, laid himself down on the bed, and began his cultivation.
Yan Xiaobao allowed his consciousness to flood into his ridians, flowing together with the absorbed Essence Qi down into his Dantian. There, he saw Lan Feng waiting for him.
Typically, Lan Feng and Hui ntors did not have actual physical exchanges, but from ti to ti, Lan Feng would use his own awareness to create a duplicate copy of himself. This imprint of his spirit, akin to Lan Feng’s essence, enabled the two to sit together and discuss critical matters inside Yan Xiaobao’s Qi Cave.
Today was one of those days. Up until now, Yan Xiaobao had had to rely solely on his patience to refine Qi from the essence, but given the high standards of both him and Lan Feng, it was evident that if they wanted to progress further, they’d need external assistance to form pills at a decent pace.
Yan Xiaobao clearly understood that while he had begun to rely on pills, obtaining Qi in this manner had its limitations. The more pills that rged within the Dantian, the more unstable the Qi Spiral in the ridians would beco. Adding too much foreign Qi without taking the ti to integrate it fully would eventually result in Yan Xiaobao losing control over his entire cultivation base.

Nevertheless, Yan Xiaobao was not deterred by hard work. Nor did he mind spending extensive ti to thoroughly combine the two types of Qi, as this would double his cultivation speed. It was the growth Yan Xiaobao needed, and he felt that he was on the cusp of ascending to the top three stars of the student ranks.
"Until we know how much we’ll have to pay for this Qi Boosting Pill, we cannot plan anything," Yan Xiaobao said while gazing at Lan Feng with a sigh. "If we fail to gather enough coins to purchase the mory Stone, we’ll be left with only one option, but I’d prefer if we could avoid resorting to it," he continued with another sigh, as Lan Feng nodded.
"Though we could request the Black Auction House to provide us with gemstones, it would put us in greater danger."
Lan Feng had previously stated that this would be their last choice, but if they chose this route, it would be akin to announcing to the Black Market Auction House that Yan Xiaobao had knowledge of all those advanced martial arts skills. Experts might very likely try to abduct him to force out more techniques.
Even if the Black Market Auction House did not itself make a move against Yan Xiaobao, there was always the chance they would sell information about him to the city’s major families.
"I have a way to keep them silent," Lan Feng smugly remarked as he looked at Yan Xiaobao, who remained slightly uneasy as he considered the dangers ahead.
Hearing this, Yan Xiaobao glanced at Lan Feng, waiting for the continuation of his statent.
"You forgot that I have always kept myself hidden," he said arrogantly. "If I release my aura, everyone will imdiately recognize us as experts ranked among Saints."
Yan Xiaobao couldn’t help but scoff, "I highly doubt anyone would be interested in attacking us after seeing your cultivation display."
"It’s true," Lan Feng agreed, "but rember, I can only release the aura of my cultivation. If anyone were to attack us, I could release my true power only once, or at most twice. For starters, our bodies cannot handle such imnse energy. If I employed more power, the body itself would likely disintegrate from the high-energy outburst."
Yan Xiaobao nodded, as he had known this before. Lan Feng had told him their bodies could currently only accommodate Yan Xiaobao’s cultivation. Another matter was that Lan Feng presently had no way of collecting essence and refining it into Qi because he lacked a physical body. Not refining Qi also ant he couldn’t convert Qi into spiritual power, and without spiritual power, he couldn’t generate his ultimate source of Divine Power: Wu Wei.
The only way for Lan Feng to gain strength was to sit inside Yan Xiaobao’s Qi Cave and slowly absorb strands of Qi from the Qi Spiral. However, the ti Lan Feng needed to refine Qi into spiritual power using his soul imprint was undoubtedly much greater than the ti Yan Xiaobao required to refine Qi using the sa cultivation thod.
