"First of all, I want you to know that doing so isn’t going to be easy. If it were up to then I would have already done so."
"Already done? How?" Derrick asked.
"It’s not a known fact to the world but I have the ans to destroy anyone in this kingdom," I said and added, "Even outside of the kingdom at that."
"Wait, but how do we know that it’s really you? You are not even showing your face." Ralph pointed out and I smiled.
"I will show you my face and also explain the plan once you make a decision."
"What decision?" Derrick asked.
"That you all are willing to take the risk and step up to your role as I assign you."
"Roles?"
"Yes, and as for to confirm if I’m the real Ocean then,"
I moved my black jacket revealing the brooch with the insignia of the ocean waves that was attached to my breast pocket.
"Whoa..." Ralph gasped.
"Will it be life-threatening?" Derrick asked.
"Considering that you all already have assassin coming after you almost every other night and you’re still alive so, I guess you can figure that much out." I said and the boys went silent for a mont.
The three faces paled and they looked at each other, Luke had known of this that’s why he wasn’t surprised.
"Wait, even ?!" Rune asked and I nodded.
"You’ve been going around trying to convince the previous victims but you never realised, did you? There was always at least one assassin following you to kill you," my eyes drifted over to the other two, "you two as well."
"Wha... I... I had no idea."
"Si-Since, when did you know of this?" Rune asked.
It must have been a shock knowing that death was following him around while he was trying to help his friend.
"That’s not important, what’s important is that you all are safe and you will be unhard. My people are all around you and they will be guarding you at all tis, no assassin will be able to touch even your shadow as long as you are on my side." I assured them.
"B-But what if-"
"There are no what ifs." I said, "I’ve calculated all the what ifs, all you have to do is step up and repay what your enemy had done to you."
"But, do you even know who he is?"
"Why would I be here if I didn’t know who your enemy is or what he’s capable of? Currently, my people are guarding you and your families so, there’s no need to worry of what he will do."
"You just have to think of what you need to do and whether you want to do it yourself and make an example for the kingdom or," my eyes turned icy as I added, "whether you would leave your work to others."
The boys looked a little hesitant and I added, "Just for your information, I have every weakness of your enemy in my hands right now."
I brought my hand up with my forefinger up, "If it were only up to then I can destroy your enemy within a single day. It won’t take any ti to drag him down to hell myself."
The collective gasps resounded around the library and the boys looked at each other.
"Do-Do you really have all his weaknesses?"
I smirked, "It’s not a known fact but I am capable of destroying any person in this world. So, your enemy isn’t even worth much of my ti, to be honest."
It would sound like boasting but I had multiple ways of taking out Douglas without even having to get these kids involved.
"Take so ti and discuss amongst yourself of whether you want to do this or not." I said as I walked over and sat down on the chair looking at the chess ga that was in front of .
It seed like the kids were playing this before I arrived, it had been quite a long ti since I played chess because I was busy with the stuff in North and then at Mordino.
I played alone while the kids discussed a few feet away from , though they were discussing in low voices, I could hear them clearly and see them from my peripheral vision.
Ralph leaned over to Luke and covered his mouth with his hand as he asked.
"Hey, Luke. How did you even manage to get this person to help us? He’s not the kind to appear in front of anyone!"
"Rune asked him to help us." Luke answered.
"What?!" Ralph gasped and then turned to Rune.
"Hey, Rune. How do you know this person? And how did you get him to help us?"
"Did you make so sort of deal with him?" Derrick asked Rune, "I heard that apart from owning the town of and magic stone mine, he is also the leader of an assassination guild and has a great influence in the underworld."
"He’s not the kind of person who does anything wrong, so, don’t be so wary of him." Rune defended .
"And how do you know that? You talk as if you’re close to him." Ralph gasped.
"I am... sort of close to him." Rune spoke up.
"How do you even know him?" Derrick asked.
"We just t by chance."
"That’s too vague."
"What about you Luke? How did you get to et him?"
"He... ca to my room and healed day before yesterday’s night." Like answered.
"He, what?!" Ralph gasped.
"He healed you?" Derrick asked and Luke nodded before he pushed the sleeves of his shirt revealing his arms making the two gasp.
"Th-Those bruises and cut marks are gone!"
"Yes, he said he wanted to stand up for myself and not give up. I trust him. If he’s on our side then, we can bring Marquis Douglas Clark down and even help those who were wronged by him in the past!" Luke said and Ralph and Derrick seed a little at loss.
"So, what do you think?" Luke asked.
"I will take the risk, if it’s Ocean then we will be safe and everything will be fine." Rune announced.
"Wait, don’t just decide it like a gamble." Ralph gasped.
I heard Rune chuckle, "Well, if it’s a gamble then I will place all my money on Ocean Ryujin because as long as he’s in the ga there’s no way I would lose."
"Let’s say, we win then what? What if this man becos a problem for us?" Derrick asked.
"I agree, he’s the leader of underworld."
I wasn’t the leader of underworld, yet.
"Still, he’s our best bet and he won’t bring any harm to us." Rune assured.
"Yes, I trust Baron Ocean." Luke said.
"If he says he can do it then, we should take at least so risk. I know it’s majorly my problem and you all got involved because of so, you are free to refuse if you want but," he turned his head to look at .
"I won’t give up without a fight. I will drag Marquis Douglas Clark down and make sure he gets punished for his cris."
Derrick sighed while Ralph shook his head.
"Luke, what do you an we’re in this problem because of you?"
"Yes, we are friends and we will stand up for you at any ti even now we’re here because we care for you."
"That’s right, now, even if we have to place our bet on this person then," Derrick looked at , "I am ready."
"I will do as I am told but, if in future this person tries sothing then don’t hesitate to tell us. We will show him his place as well." Ralph announced and I chuckled making him flinch.
"Did he hear ?"
"I bet he can hear everything." Rune said with a smile, "His senses are really sharp."
"Don’t brag about your friend Rune." Ralph snorted.
"Why not?" I felt Rune’s eyes on as I removed the opponent’s Queen from the ga.
"He’s a special friend of mine."
After a little bit more discussion the boys ca to a solid decision and I placed all the chess pieces on the board in their spots.
"Master Ocean?" Rune called and I tilted my head to him.
"Why are you calling him Master?" Ralph asked.
"That’s what he’s called," Rune said.
"Have you made your decision?" I asked.
The four boys looked at each other before they faced .
"Yes," Rune said.
"We have decided to fight." Ralph announced.
"We will do as you say." Luke spoke.
"But in exchange, tell us what you want after this all is done?" Derrick asked and I smiled.
I stood up from my seat and walked over and stood in front of them.
"I will tell you that once we’re done."
"No, tell us now! We don’t want to owe you sothing unfair."
I chuckled and Rune snapped at him, "Derrick!"
"Fine then, I will make you work for ."
Derrick opened his mouth and I rose my hand before he could speak, "It won’t be anything illegal and you won’t have to kill anyone for . You and your families will simply co under my wing."
"It still sounds dangerous."
I smirked, "You have no idea of what dangerous really is, Derrick Langland. You’re sheltered children who got a bullied a little and you thought you had seen hell. Do you... have any idea that what Douglas did to you wasn’t even the beginning of what he’s capable of?"
My Dragon’s Presence whipped out of my body as I continued, "Sending assassins and having ties with the underworld doesn’t even scratch the surface of what he’s capable of. If he had to truly make your life hell then, you and your families might already be beheaded and your heads would have already been put on spikes on the gates of the Imperial palace."
Their faces paled at my harsh, unfiltered words.
"You all are kids so, I minded my words but if you are going to keep whining to the person who’s willing to help you then, you might as well leave this place. I don’t need you."
Derrick gulped as the sweatbeads rolled down his forehead and from the sides of his face.
"Master Ocean?" Rune called and my Dragon’s Presence receded back to .
"I-I will do as you say." Derrick stuttered.
"I didn’t want to use force for this," I said, "if you don’t want to join my cause then after this is done you will have to sign the secrecy contract."
"Se-Secrecy contract?"
"The ones who see my face are either those who are extrely loyal to or those who are on their last breath."
Derrick’s eyes widened and he clenched his fists at his sides.
"I-I will sign it."
"Good."
With that cleared, I brought my hands up to remove the hood and mask that were covering my face.
