Now reading: Chapter 240 - 239. Goddess Enters The Temple (1) from The Kingmaker System, a Fantasy novel by AnimeVerseGirl.

The Temple agreed to my terms and also announced that the Goddess of Life would be entering the Temple. They had done a good advertisent by announcing and accepting with the title. They also were marketing my worth well to the public.

The town was decorated in record ti and within a week the people were once again on the streets and crowding near the Temple to catch a glimpse of the rumoured Goddess of Life. Even the royal family was going to be present to receive the blessings from the Goddess, except for the Crown Prince who was on the battlefield.

It was a huge occasion so, I had to be prepared appropriately. The Temple had allowed to stay at Asher’s place till I was to be taken to the Temple while Asher himself was at the Temple. They didn’t trust him.

I wore the white robes with the golden embroidery on it as well as the silver pendant with the Temple’s crest and adjusted my hair well. I looked quite good in the Priestess’s attire. It was almost ironic that I was seeing myself in that look.

"It feels like the Devil is dressed as a Priest." I chuckled.

[Goddess of Wisdom agrees with your thoughts of irony.]

I chuckled at the notification and then sighed deeply. I had to act like Mirielle for a bit more ti and keep the show going until it was ti for the climax.

"Ah, I feel tired already." I groaned softly.

[Goddess of Wisdom awaits your next move.]

"Even I await my next move," I mumbled.

There was a knock and I looked at the window instead of the door as it ca from there.

"Co in." I called already sensing him.

Lyall stepped inside the room soundlessly like a shadow and kneeled in front of .

"The preparations have been done, Master. I’ve checked the routes and also made sure that in case of ergencies you would be safely escorted."

"Good, what about Asher?"

"He’s at the Temple. The Priests have kept their word, they won’t be charging him with anything."

I nodded in satisfaction and Lyall stood up.

"Is there any other command for , Master?"

"Nothing imdiate, just follow out the other work that I gave you."

He nodded, "Yes, Master."

I had prepared myself well and the others were also in their spots ready for their roles to act on this stage. Unlike Mordino, here the enemies were quite different and I had to be more sharp or it might end up creating a huge chaos.

I looked at Lyall again and he seed as if he wanted to say sothing.

"Say it, Lyall. You always keep fidgeting when you want to ask sothing." I prompted and he flinched a little.

"... Please be safe, Master," Lyall said to and I smiled.

"Don’t worry, I will be safe." I patted his shoulder twice before there was a knock on the doors this ti.

"Miss Mirielle? Are you ready yet?" Lilly called out.

"Yes, I’m ready!" I hollered back and then looked at Lyall giving him a curt nod.

He left my room and I walked over to the doors, opening them to find Lilly and Nina standing outside.

I was led down to the entrance where the household personnel was waiting for along with the Priest who was tasked with the duty to bring to the Temple.

He was an old man who seed like he was a wise person, but I wasn’t fooled by the appearances. I smiled at him keeping the facade and he smiled back.

"Please co this way, Goddess. The Temple awaits you."

The white carriage outside was decorated with flowers and gossar ribbons, it looked quite beautiful. I got on the carriage with a couple of Templar Knights mounted on their horses surrounding the carriage protectively.

The old Priest got on after and sat in front of .

"I have been told to keep you company so, please pardon this old man if my company is boring." He chuckled and I smiled.

"I’m happy to have you as my company, Father..."

"Ah, apologies, I didn’t ntion my na," he smiled sheepishly.

"My na is Akler Nortr."

"Father Akler." I smiled.

The carriage was going to take straight to the Temple but I knew it was impossible to reach there even though the distance was only of half an hour.

There were a lot of people who were standing in the two rows while leaving the street empty just for the carriage to pass. The Royal Guard along with the Templar Knights were assigned to overlook this procession sort of journey and make sure to keep safe.

I looked out of the window at the bright and cheerful faces of the people who were standing just to get a glimpse of .

"A lot of people are here to see you, " Akler comnted.

"I’ve never been amidst these many people, it’s a little intimidating."

The old priest chuckled, "You should get used to it a little, you will have to be in public for at least so ti if not always."

"Besides, didn’t you heal around fifty people all at once during your visits?"

"Yes, but, that was only for the ti when I was healing them after that, I would feel weak so, I was resting till it was ti to leave."

"How unfortunate! But the people still rembered you so, I guess that serves the purpose."

I amiled, he went on making small talk with while the carriage moved at a snail’s pace.

I thought we might never make it till the Temple but miraculously enough we reached at the Temple before the dusk.

There were nobles and the King gathered over there to welco . Among the crowd of the nobles I spotted Damon and then the Lewinstein family.

The King Augustine De LaVera stood near the High Priest all decked up in blinding ornants and the attire that would put the clothes that the nobles were wearing to sha.

He had bright red hair that flowed at his shoulders and bright amber eyes which seed to be glowing. He seed like he would be in his early fifties if not late forties but he seed quite strong. This man was also the one who I had to investigate. When I had run into Crown Prince Arian at the borders, he was carrying a sword made out of Dragon’s bones and that sword was handed to him by this King.

So, this King did have a couple of answers to confess.

The High Priest moved ahead to welco first and I looked at a middle-aged looking man who stood a couple of feet away near the statue of Saintess Miella along with the Saint child.

"Welco to the Temple, Miss Mirielle Clarkson." Benedict said spreading his arms and I curtsied.

"I’m honored to be in such a holy place,"

My tone was perfectly polite and even.

I could hear the whispers among the nobles about my beauty and grace and it sort of satisfied .

"Please co hither, Child of God," Benedict said gesturing to the higher platform where the King stood.

I curtsied before him and he smiled down at .

"Glory to the Kingdom of Denril, Your Majesty." I spoke.

"Your presence here solidifies your words, Goddess. I and my nation are blessed to have you, Gods seem to be happy with my reign that’s why he gave us his cherished daughter!"

The nobles cheered at his words although, I knew it was only for the show. So of them knew what was going on in reality while the others might be bitter because the Temple got a hold of first.

"I’m ecstatic to hear such praising words from Your Majesty." I said and he laughed.

"Such politeness and such divine grace could only befit a Goddess!"

After the King was done showering with praises, I was led up the stairs to where the Pope stood with the little Saint beside him.

I sat on my knees as I was instructed in front of the Pope and my blood vigorously resisted this act. Bowing before a human was unspeakable for a Dragon. I knew this even without being taught as a Dragon.

But I had to suck it up since I couldn’t act out of character.

"Welco, Dear Goddess." The Pope spoke up.

His voice was weathered and husky, his blonde hair peeked from beneath his white cap and his blue eyes assessed carefully.

I kept myself prostrated with my hands joined at my chest and a smile on my face.

"His Majesty is right, such divine beauty and grace could only belong to a Goddess." He smiled.

I brought my hands up and he held them in his, the Pope too had healing powers but it seed like he always gauged the level of the Healers who ca to him.

I stole a glance at the kid beside him whose eyes seed like they were about to water. He recognised .

Soon enough, even the others would know that the one who had entered the Temple wasn’t a Goddess but a Dragon who would shake their foundations.
