The next second, more than a dozen n charged toward them. Ruan Jianguo was the first to stand up, yanking Xiu Xi behind him, shielding him with his body, and glaring angrily at them: "Brothers, what is the aning of this? Snatching children in broad daylight?"
The group of n didn’t respond but rely glanced back at the elderly man behind them. The impatience on the old man’s face clearly conveyed his orders. Two of the n grabbed Ruan Jianguo by the arms and attempted to drag him aside, while the others lunged toward Xiu Xi.
Ruan Jiaojiao was startled and instinctively got up to reach for Xiu Xi, but Ruan Hao stopped her in her tracks.
"Mom, Grandma, take Jiaojiao and step back a little," Ruan Hao instructed, his voice steady. Raised in the countryside, he’d grown up climbing trees to catch birds and fishing in rivers with Ruan Jun and the others. Naturally, he wasn’t one to be underestimated.
Although Ruan Jie wasn’t as sturdy as Ruan Jianguo just yet, standing tall, he was still more imposing than most n.
The two brothers imdiately stepped forward to shield Xiu Xi.
anwhile, it only took Ruan Jianguo re seconds to fling aside the two n gripping his arms. Years of farm work had built his muscular physique, and even three or four strong rural n would struggle to take him down.
Handling these two was nothing more than a matter of a few monts.
Even with more than a dozen n rushing forward, they failed to capture Xiu Xi. Instead, they were intimidated by the combined presence of Ruan Jianguo and his two sons. As the confrontation escalated, the old man’s expression turned grim.

Taking a deep breath, she clenched her fists and shook off Shu Jiao’s hands from her shoulders. Then, she ran into the crowd, grabbing the corners of two n’s clothes and sobbing as she pleaded, "Uncles, please help us! Please, they’re bad people! They’re trying to take my brother! They’re human traffickers! I beg you, please help us... boohoo..."
She cried so heart-wrenchingly that her little hands gripping onto their clothes turned pale. Her pitiful appearance stirred the sympathy of many onlookers.
A few people, already moved with compassion, hesitated for only a mont and then asked, "Little girl, is that really your brother?"
"Yes, yes, he’s really my brother! Boohoo, please, please help us, won’t you?" she cried, tilting her head up to appeal to them, her voice hoarse and her pale face desperate.
