Several people nodded upon hearing this. After Lu Zhiwei retired from the army, he started a business, while many of his comrades chose to pursue careers in military politics. So, it’s not surprising that he knows all this.
"Who cares who it is, even if it’s the King of Heaven trying to bully my sister, I’d still hit him." Ruan Lei, who wasn’t afraid, said upon hearing this.
The way he said it was as if he was scared, but Lu Zishu was just about to state his stance when he saw the three people ahead already moving forward, so he quickly picked up his desk and chair to catch up.
Jiaojiao’s desk and chair had already been placed in the classroom by Xiu Xi, with their seats next to each other in the center of the classroom, approximately the third row.
When Ruan Lei and the others arrived, they hesitated as they saw the two at their desks.
Lu Zishu didn’t overthink it, placing his desk behind Xiu Xi’s, then urged Ruan Lei to quickly place his desk: "Lei, hurry and set up your desk. Call Yang Tao, we’ve got to head to the dormitory to tidy up our stuff after eating."
Ruan Lei glanced at the unfazed Xiu Xi and the unaware Jiaojiao, then carried his desk and chair to the neighboring classroom.
When he had set up his desk and returned with Yang Tao, Yang n had just entered Jiaojiao’s classroom. Beside her was a boy helping her move her desk and chair. Once her desk and chair were set down, she imdiately thanked him in a sweet tone: "Thank you, classmate."
The boy, naturally shy, blushed bright red at her smile, waved his hand signaling "no thanks," and quickly ran off, not daring to look back at Yang n, who continued waving as he left.
Only when the boy ran far enough to not turn back did Yang n withdraw her gaze, and sowhat disdainfully pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket, intending to wipe her desk and chair. As she turned, she caught Jiaojiao and her group’s eyes, her expression froze for a mont but quickly returned to normal.
She walked over as if nothing happened and spoke to Yang Tao: "Cousin, let’s go ho for lunch together."
"You know the way, just head back, I’m not going ho for lunch. I’m going out to eat with Jiaojiao and the others."
Upon hearing this, Yang n glanced at Jiaojiao and the others, bit her lip, and quietly asked: "Can I join you? I... I’m scared to go back alone."
"What’s there to be scared of? It’s broad daylight, aren’t you afraid of ghosts?" Yang Tao frowned; Yang n might have forgotten, but she rembered the previous unpleasant incident and didn’t want her getting closer to Jiaojiao and the others.
Yang n remained silent, just showing a pitiful expression, with an even softer voice: "Cousin, you promised uncle you’d take good care of ..."
"..." Yang Tao.
Her expression turned sowhat unpleasant, but she couldn’t go too far, because her father did indeed instruct her.
"Then let’s go together." Seeing Yang Tao’s dilemma, Jiaojiao said from the side.
"Thank you, Jiaojiao, you’re so kind." Yang n imdiately expressed her gratitude, looking at Jiaojiao with shining eyes, as if Jiaojiao had done her a big favor.
Jiaojiao pulled a polite smile, then took Yang Tao’s hand, leading the way.
Yang Tao had no choice but to let her follow, leading the pair ahead, suddenly rembering and asking: "Should we invite Feng Tian? She’s alone here without familiar faces, why don’t we take her along? Is she at the dormitory?"
Speaking of this, Jiaojiao’s mood turned sowhat heavy: "She went back first, there’s so trouble at ho."
