“They seem to have all gone to Xiaohao’s school.” Du Qing, who was picking vegetables nearby, chid in.
“Yeah, and Jiaojiao’s godmother’s two boys, with all their hustle and bustle—that lot forms quite a squad. They said they’re going to pick up their big brother,” Wu Le said with a laugh.
Zhao Li had just co out from the kitchen, heard this and smiled, “My two boys now love running over to your place, even the little one. Couldn’t drag him out before, but now, when he sees we’re coming here, he runs faster than anyone.”
“Kids love to play together, especially the boys,” Du Qing said helplessly, shaking her head, then turning to see Ruan Jiaojiao having finished with her towel, neatly and deftly drinking sheep’s milk with Xiaoxi sitting quietly beside her, couldn’t help but ask, “Xiaoxi, why don’t you go and play with them?”
She thought it was rather peculiar.
Her two boys, though both fond of their sister, would forget everything when they played, not at all like Xiu Xi, who, no matter where he was, always looked after Ruan Jiaojiao—an absolute contrast to those brothers.
“I am keeping Jiaojiao company,” Xiu Xi answered, not finding his straightforwardness to be inappropriate in any way.
This made several of the won burst out laughing, with Zhao Li saying, “This boy will surely be the type to dote on his wife in the future. I wonder which girl will be so lucky.”
“Isn’t that the truth! My boys are just like their father…” Wu Le also nodded in agreent.
The conversation then turned to each woman talking about their own husbands.
Having been in this world for over half a year now, Xiu Xi understood everything he should, naturally knowing what it ant to dote on a wife.
He didn’t say anything, just quietly watched Ruan Jiaojiao, who was drinking sheep’s milk, her cheeks puffing and unpuffing with each sip.
“…” Ruan Jiaojiao blinked her eyes, silently asking, what’s wrong?
Xiu Xi patted her little head, coaxing her, “Drink up.”
“…” Ruan Jiaojiao, what does that an? Does he think she’s drinking too slowly? But she had always drunk at this pace.
Ruan Jiaojiao continued to smack her lips, drinking quite contentedly. After finishing, she got up and went over to Du Qing and the others to help them sort the vegetables.
