Rod said with irritation, "I ate it."

Because of this guy’s absence, not only was a packet of Red Powder wasted, but also two extra Sealing Spirit Bullets.

These bullets are expensive. He had only made twenty in total, and after previous usage, only eight were left now.

Moreover, due to the significant continuous consumption of Spiritual Energy, Rod felt dizzy, a sharp pain in his spirit, and a strong sense of fatigue.

This is a sign of Spiritual Energy depletion.

And since Spiritual Energy is essentially soul power, it essentially indicated that the soul was exhausted to its limit.

Even the stimulating effect of the Red Powder couldn’t mask that.

Rod felt terrible, although he could clearly feel "Spiritual Recovery" at work, it was much slower than before.

Of course, this wasn’t because the power of "Frost Blue" had weakened, but rather because Rod had beco stronger. Not only had he raised his Spiritual Power Level to the second rank, but his Soul Strength had also tripled, so it made sense for the recovery to be slower.

Nightwing also saw the ashes on the ground, a slight blush appeared on his face, and he whispered, "Sorry, I had no choice but to let go at that mont... It just makes you look all the more impressive, huh?"

Molly ran over with concern and stuffed a large handful of supplies into Rod’s hands.

Nightwing gathered all the monster ash from the ground, put it into the Red Stone casket, and handed it over.

"Here, a total of five portions, all your spoils of war."

Rod unceremoniously took them into his arms.

Professor Bins approached and said, "Data recording is complete. There’s no need to go to the other two locations. I suspect there’s a lair of Mutated Demon Spiders below, and our actions may have stirred them. We must hurry back."

He took off his coat and gave it a light flap.

The coat flew up into the air, astonishingly turning into a Flying Carpet.

Nightwing, dragging the teacher and Molly, jumped onto it. The Flying Carpet didn’t sag in the slightest, showed great tension, and was clearly no ordinary item.

No wonder Professor Bins, being an ordinary person, wasn’t panicking at all... Rod lightly jumped up too, stepping onto it.

The Flying Carpet quickly rose, carrying the four of them. Nightwing had his hands pressed down on the carpet, clearly controlling it.

Rod peered down and saw colossal statues with feet that vanished into endless darkness while grey-white Mutated Demon Spiders crawled from all directions up the statues, chasing the Flying Carpet.

The clicking sounds rged into one.

The giants were quickly covered in a grey-white hue.

Spiders kept leaping toward them and falling into the dark abyss.

Molly’s face was ashen, her small fra trembling slightly, unconsciously moving closer to Rod.

Professor Bins mused, "It seems the tomb was occupied long ago. With such a large monster lair, there must be a leader."

Before his words finished, Rod saw a powerful monster climbing from the depths of darkness. Its soul was as vast as the night sky, emanating extrely sharp waveforms, its strong Spiritual Energy rely circulated, causing disturbance in space. The dual interference of Spiritual Energy and soul made it hard for him to discern its rank.

But it definitely wasn’t sothing they could deal with.

"Move fast!" Rod urged. "This place is very unsafe!"

"I know!" Nightwing shouted, pouring all his Spiritual Energy into the Flying Carpet, which accelerated skyward.

Arriving at the top of the statue, the scene before them was even more terrifying.

In the vast space, countless Mutated Demon Spiders had ford a sea of grey-white, their nurous thin legs pointing at them like countless dancing hairs.

If they were to fall, they would undoubtedly be reduced to nothing in an instant.

The spiders’ colliding legs created a cacophony that drowned out the imnse underground space.

Molly had never seen such a horrifying sight. Her face drained of color, her body couldn’t stop trembling, until she was enveloped in a warm embrace that blocked her view and enveloped her with a human presence, which cald her heart slightly.

Molly’s Joy 52

Humanity 5

That much?

Rod’s heart lifted slightly, and he quickly held her tighter.

The Flying Carpet swiftly departed from the horde of terrifying creatures along a new path until the clicking sounds vanished and Molly’s small fra stopped shaking.

Rod thought to himself that it seed she hadn’t completely escaped her fear; it must be because I’m not strong enough yet.

Otherwise, I could gain even more Humanity.

Glancing at his stats, he now had a total of 601 Humanity, which was surely sufficient for Fire and crafting items.

With a thought, the information from the Obelisk was reflected in his mind.

Soul Strength: 117

Soul Stars: 2

Humanity: 601

Divinity: 45

Soul Without Spirit: 222

Possessed Souls: "Dust-like Souls" thirty, "Small Soul Fragnts" nineteen, "Large Soul Fragnts" fifty-five, "Maggot Man’s Souls" four, "Undead Hound Soul" one, "Mutated Demon Spider Souls" five.

——

The harvest far exceeded his expectations, thanks to the "Sealing Spirit Bullet" and "Soul Blast" whose power was beyond his imagination.

With this going on, the invasion in nine days would certainly be no problem.

Rod had never felt as confident as he did now.

Perhaps, with just one "Sealing Spirit Bullet" and a "Soul Blast", he could end the invaders and live a shalessly happy life thereafter.

"How long are you going to hold on to each other?"

Nightwing’s voice woke Rod from his reverie, and he realized they had reached the top layer of the sewer. The light from the streetlamps above filtered down the well, making the previously unpleasant dirty environnt seem like a path to heaven.

The Flying Carpet had landed, and Molly was still buried in his arms like an ostrich.

Rod let go, and Molly reluctantly lifted herself, her cheeks red and hair sowhat disheveled.

"We’re ho," Rod said with a smile.

Molly nodded, not daring to et his gaze.

The four of them climbed out of the well and finally bathed in the light of the Royal City. The spacious cobblestone paths, houses hanging copper lanterns, and the neat and elegantly designed streetlights brought a wave of familiarity, as if returning to the world of human civilization.

Molly turned her head, unwilling to look back at the towering Dead Ash Mountain Range. All non-civilized constructs now filled her with terror.

Nightwing sighed lightly, knowing that Molly might need psychological intervention.

Professor Bins looked equally pale, but not out of fear.

As a professor nearing the level of a great scholar without going mad, he had encountered many more terrifying and unimaginable things.

His worry was that they had stirred an ancient monster nest. If it beca active from its slumber, it would add considerable trouble to the already stretched defenses of the Royal City.

Moreover, having hosted so many monsters, the ancient tomb surely wouldn’t have anything valuable left. Any spirited artifacts would have been devoured, and the twisted forces would destroy any remnants of civilization.

The chances of finding a powerful relic were slim.

The threat could still expand.

They had to report to the higher-ups imdiately.

With this thought, Professor Bins imdiately said, "We must hurry to the School Headquarters."

Sowhere, a Floating Spirit Car descended from the sky.

Before leaving, Professor Bins said to him privately, "Rod, you are extraordinary. Abilities like Soul Harvest haven’t appeared in the Fire Spark for three hundred years. The last person to have them fell into madness, and his living corpse is still locked under the Silver Oath. I hope you can always maintain your love for humanity. I enjoyed working with you and will be giving you my highest recomndation to the School."

Nightwing waved his hand, "You are strong, but next ti we et, I will surpass you. Co to 11 Rose Street when you’re free, to feel the weight of history. You’ll fall in love with it."

Molly whispered, "I live at 22 Rose Street. The Red Rose Bubble Wine in the Rose Bar is great. Try it if you have the chance."

The three boarded the Spirit Car and soared away.

Hey, didn’t you guys think of giving a lift?

Rod grumpily found a pay-to-use Spirit Car, planning to find a place to rest for a while before moving on to the next step of his plan.

Outer City District.

The sewers.

One of the bases of the Polluter Sect.

Black Priest Balistan Sermy was scoping out new subjects for the Desecration Ceremony.

She had beco one of the higher-ups of the sect at a young age, half because she had mastered this complex high-level ritual.

She sat at a long table made of human bones, her naked body bared, while a few completely enslaved individuals maintained her body, her most important weapon and powerful ritual tool, which could not afford a single flaw.

"Potential targets... Beowood from Barley Village? Hmm, very strong, high value, but he’s not fond of won. Didn’t touch a single girl during four years at the academy, which makes it difficult."

"Shines from Apple Town, he is strong, three-ti champion of Heidler Training Ground, assistant to the Dean, high status, loves his hair... He could be a candidate, using hairstyle as the entry point."

"Anna from Mushroom City... no."

As she was pondering, the door to the Prayer Hall burst open, a cultist rushed in, shouting, "Priest Sarimi! Sothing terrible has happened!"

Sarimi instantly stood up, a thick fog enveloping her body and face, and the massaging slaves were kicked away.

"What happened?"

"The cleaning squad we sent out has been completely wiped out!"

"Impossible! There were only two combatants! How could a dozen be totally annihilated against two?"

The cultist cried, "They encountered an unexpected horde of monsters, not a single one escaped, and the last Spiritual Communication we received was filled with screams and the crunching of bones!"

Bang!

Sarimi smashed the Crystal Ball on the table, teeth gritted:

"It’s false news! We’ve been deceived! Trace the source of the ssage, root out the insider. I want to tear their soul into fragnts!"
