Rod covered his face, unsure of what to say.
Vivian, with contempt on her face, turned away and politely said to Rod, "Lord Rod, you have seen everything. We trust your judgnt; Lord Jon will surely beco the king of Trolian, and he will not fail your expectations."
After she finished, she snorted at Aro and left the room.
Aro stuck out her tongue at Vivian’s back then leaped onto Rod.
"Yay, little Rod, no one’s bothering us now, let big sister check your body..."
Rod coughed a few tis, signaling that there was still soone in the room.
"It’s okay, little Rod, sister Molly is very nice, I don’t mind if she joins us."
From the frosty expression on Molly’s face, she minded a great deal.
Furthermore, Rod did not want to get involved with his fiancée’s personal attendant. If Miss Qingyu didn’t know as she claid, then that would be trouble.
"Aro, my Soul has been sowhat weak lately, the Chief Judge’s Decree powers are too special... they might have had so negative effects on ; I think I need to rest for a while."
Aro pouted, visibly upset, but she could feel that Rod’s soul was indeed weaker and not as strong as before.
"Okay then."
She stood up disappointedly.
"Little Rod, if you feel unwell, let know in advance, okay? I’ve collected many prescriptions specially for dysfunctions..."
Rod covered his face, irritably said, "You just go back to sleep."
Aro giggled: "Goodnight, little Rod, goodnight sister Molly, I’m leaving."
She walked out of the door cheerfully, and the room finally quieted down.
Rod turned around and was instantly daunted by the thick stack of reports Molly was holding.
"Molly, I have already said, you can make decisions on these matters yourself, I’m really busy right now..."
Molly asked indifferently, "What are you busy with?"
"I..."
Rod choked up; information from the Dream Realm could not be revealed, but if not from the Dream Realm, what else was he busy with? Chasing girls?
Molly sat beside Rod and started laying the reports out in front of him.
"Lord Rod, I understand you might not have recovered from the Chief Judge’s assault, and continuous combat has exhausted you, you’re thinking about taking so ti off."
"But the developnt of Star Town cannot stall; officials from the Royal City have already expressed their strong desire multiple tis, hoping we could take in more impoverished people."
"The developnt of Star Town is not keeping up with the demand; I need your wisdom. Even during your rest, you can handle public affairs. Every additional impoverished person we bring here is essentially rescuing a living soul from the darkness of the Abyss."
The firelight reflected off her elegant golden-rimd glasses, sothing seed to burn in her pale eyes.
"This is what a true star of humanity should be doing."
Rod’s head started to hurt again.
"Molly, have you misunderstood sothing? I’m not skilled in dostic affairs; you’ve been handling them well..."
Molly looked at him sternly.
"Don’t shirk responsibility. Star Town is what it is today largely thanks to you; the asures you proposed solved most of our issues. Your understanding of wages and money surpasses everyone’s, even the cunning Mahara sings your praises without end. Once greedy magnates beco surprisingly generous here, even the troubleso Elder Council has shifted their stance."
She paused for a few seconds, then spoke earnestly.
"Such wisdom should not be wasted on a woman."
Rod sighed, "Molly, you really misunderstood. She’s just my partner, nothing more. I don’t have the wisdom you’re talking about; I just understand humanity a bit. I can easily manipulate soone like Mahara because when he puckers up, I know exactly the kind of crap he’s about to take, but it’s not the sa with others..."
"Why?"
Rod choked again: "...Perhaps because he’s too dumb."
Molly spoke calmly, "Yet today’s trade system in the Royal City was established by Mahara. He went from a commoner to a leader of magnates in only twenty years."
"...Still looks dumb to . Whatever problem you encounter, just go to him; whether it’s lack of funds, people or resources, he won’t dare refuse."
"Why?"
"Because like a fattened pig, he’s afraid of being slaughtered, coming under my patronage. If I failed, wouldn’t his money go to waste?"
"What do you an?"
Rod said impatiently, "Mahara has all that money but lacks corresponding power. In a crisis, he’d be the first pig to be slaughtered. He can’t rely on the Elder Council backing him, but if he invests his money in , what he holds becos simply debts, and who would dare touch my money? More importantly, if I eventually take power, he’d have real backing..."
Molly asked quietly, "Why would he choose you?"
"Probably because in his eyes, I’m just like him. That’s where his brain fails him."
Rod yawned deeply and lay down again, resting his head on Molly’s lap.
The faint fragrance wafting up enhanced his mood again.
"So don’t be shy, use him as hard as you can; the more you use him, the happier he’ll be."
Rod turned over, burying his face in her chest, and his hands mischievously climbed onto her Black Silk.
"Wow, so smooth."
Molly adjusted her sitting position, allowing him better access to her legs.
