"Yes."
Sarah obediently sat opposite him, then gently cleared her throat and spoke about her earlier findings.
"The people in the caravan seem increasingly dissatisfied with the growing number of refugees. They're worried about attracting the attention of the local lord or the rebel army. Besides that, the rcenary leader escorting the caravan ntioned sothing..."
She hesitated for a mont and then spoke honestly.
"He speculates that the rebels roaming the Twilight Province might have the support of the Chaotic Forces."
"Cha-Chaos?! Where?!" Taufu, who had been dozing, suddenly perked up, scared stiff, as his spine arched dramatically.
Of course, this gluttonous and sleepy little pig wasn't really awake; after mumbling a few words in his dream, he went back to sleeping.
It was clear that she was genuinely scarred by the Void's Outer Gods, with fear carved deep into her soul, which hadn't faded to this day...
Luo Yan, however, showed no panic. Having studied the Void Realm in depth, he calmly asked.
"Does he have any evidence?"
Sarah shook her head.
"No... But famine does easily make people think of the Eternal Hunger Claw, and so people have already made such associations. I worry..."
"The more people fear sothing, the harder it is to avoid it," Luo Yan said quietly after a mont of silence, "Regardless of whether it's Chaos or not, we must handle the situation here carefully. If sothing goes wrong at Brass Pass, it will be hard for us to stay unaffected in our territory in the Campbell Duchy."
"What do you need to do?"
Seeing the eager cat ready to pledge loyalty at once, Luo Yan couldn't help but smile, reaching out to ruffle the fluffy head.
Unexpectedly, the sudden gesture from Lord Demon King caught Sarah, who was touched on the ear, off guard, causing her to let out a short "ow?!"
Instantly, her snow-white face turned a deep shade of red, as if about to drip blood.
She subconsciously looked at the sleeping Taufu, confirming that he was indeed asleep, then suppressed her murderous aura, leaving the inexplicably shivering Taufu behind, puzzled yet apprehensive as she looked at the Demon King, waiting for his next action.
However, nothing else followed.
Luo Yan rely smiled and said.
"Stop always thinking about what to do. When I don't assign you tasks, just stay by my side, and I will instruct you when necessary."
"Yes..." Sarah replied softly with her head lowered.
The voice had a rare touch of gloom, as if still brooding over the embarrassing sound she made earlier.
While Luo Yan was pondering how to comfort his cat, his dog suddenly sprang out.
Youyou: "D-D-Demon King! Sothing bad has happened! The Campbell Duchy has decided to send reinforcents to the Twilight Province! Your players have signed up too, and from what they're discussing on the official site, it seems there's an entire battalion of troops!"
Luo Yan initially thought it would be sothing groundbreaking, but in the end, not much worth ntioning ca out of the dog's mouth after so much fuss.
So what if they go off to be soldiers?
So clever little players even went on to beco capitalists in Thunder City! Is this really an issue?
"Why, that's hardly a big deal... If they want to make a fuss, let them," he thought.
Co find when they've beco dukes!
Just as Luo Yan was thinking this, Youyou's next words left him stunned on the spot.
"But, but! Leading them is Erin Campbell! Are you sure there's really no problem? Youyou rembers you two said your goodbyes at the port!"
"....?"
What the hell!?
