Now reading: Chapter 1644 465: Mouse and Butterfly (Part 2) from The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!, a Action novel by Morning Star Ll.

And they number quite a lot.

In the distance on the Wilderness, a group of emaciated people awkwardly wielded hoes like the walking dead.

At first, Luo Yan thought they were farming, but he noticed they were actually burying the ripe crops into the ground, crops that could have saved their lives.

And even more puzzling was a man, so starved he was barely alive, attempting to dig up the buried food, only to be beaten to death by a group of fanatical Cultists.

The food cannot be eaten.

But people seemingly can.

Luo Yan speculated that these Cultists were performing so sort of Evil ritual.

Only this could explain why they engaged in such illogical and unreasonable actions.

The wails of "Grove" finally caught soone's attention, and a sallow emaciated woman, delighted by the discovery, quietly took it away.

Realizing she wasn't its mother, "Grove" struggled even harder, its cries tinged with a hint of fear.

And regret.

No one knows if it regretted not being braver during the earlier fight, rushing ahead of the other little mice.

Such an end isn't necessarily more dignified than dying on the battlefield.

Of course, it might make no difference.

In Urgos's Nest City, there's no exit sche; once a Soul is sacrificed to Chaos, escape becos virtually impossible.

Death isn't a conclusion, rely the beginning of reincarnation.

Attached to the Butterfly of All Things, Luo Yan felt bored by the folly before him and sowhat disdainful, so he flew further ahead.

Soon, he ca upon a massive settlent, where a gigantic steel structure seed to be the wreckage of a Starship.

Nearby, gray concrete buildings rose on the ground like moss sprouting in the corner of a wall.

This, perhaps, is the "Wasteland."

A Wasteland similar to the past of the 178th Void Realm, yet distinctly different.

Here, there's no "Resentful Spirit Charcoal," and the energy used is supposedly nuclear or relatively primitive fossil fuels.

Luo Yan didn't sense the fluctuation of Extraordinary Power; the power here seed weaker than in the 178th Void Realm.

At least on this planet.

Just as Luo Yan was observing with interest, his ears suddenly caught a deeply resentful sigh.

"Ugh... I'm tainted."

Maneuvering the Butterfly of All Things, Luo Yan turned and spotted a mouse surreptitiously hiding in a cluster of withered trees.

It was Urgos's voice.

He seed to have possessed this mouse.

This mouse was rely of regular size, nowhere near as colossal as those outside Twilight City, not even capable of defeating a wild cat.

"I haven't shown disdain for you, yet you have for ." Luo Yan halted a short distance away, gazing at Him with a aningful look.

Although this world lacks Extraordinary Power, it doesn't prevent two Divine beings from the Outer Realm from communicating seamlessly through the Sea of Consciousness.

Perhaps its Strength constrained its temper, for the mouse didn't act out like it did outside Twilight City, just pouting its lips at him.

"Tsk, what do you understand? You're just a bug that happened to fly outside the window. If you weren't stuck on my hand, you'd never have flown so far in your life."

That's hard to say.

Luo Yan chuckled softly.

"There are many things I don't understand, yet with my limited perspective... Haven't I deceived you as well?"

"..." Urgos fell silent.

From the shift in His attitude, Luo Yan could clearly sense a hint of discouragent and suppressed irritation.

Although He was reluctant to admit it, even trying hard to evade it, He evidently realized that He was just duped.

And not by the "Deceitful Fog" Novel.

But by a blustering native.

After a while, the mouse hiding in the shrubs slowly spoke.

"...Such an annoying brat, can't you keep pretending to be Novel? I didn't even ask you."

The butterfly perched on the leaves gently flapped its wings.

"Is fooling yourself fun?"

"Don't gloat... We'll et again! And next ti, I won't let you off so easily."

"Then try ." Luo Yan smiled indifferently, continuing, "But there's one thing I didn't lie about, I am Novel's—"

The mouse let out a sharp squeak, interrupting him.

"Enough! I don't want to hear you speak! There's scarcely any truth in what you say!"

"That's not quite right," Luo Yan laughed, "Every word I say is true; I rely speak half of it, and you only hear the part you like."

Urgos appeared unwilling to continue the topic; his argunt skills were probably equivalent to that of two Taufus, no more.

"Is this your Nest City?" Luo Yan's voice, transford into Spirit whispers through the butterfly's wings, inquired about matters Urgos might find intriguing.

He sowhat sensed that Urgos's personality was like an oversized baby, perhaps related to the source of His Strength, as most devotees worshiping Him were similar.

Just as Luo Yan expected, when asked about His own treasure trove, those pea-sized green eyes instantly sparkled with a show-off light.

"Strictly speaking... Not yet, but very soon, hehe."
