Now reading: Chapter 712: Zhongli Meng from The Magnificent Son-in-law, a Action novel by Rain sounds during the hours of midnight.

Xiao Feng was genuinely frustrated. Damn, can't I just drive out without trouble?

In the morning, I drove out and got rear-ended by so rich kid from Kyoto.

In the afternoon, I drove out again and encountered soone cursing and threatening to smash my car.

This made him question if the problem wasn't the car but himself driving it.

After thinking it over, Xiao Feng felt that whether he liked it or not, he had to admit he wasn't ant to be a driver.

It had nothing to do with his driving skills, but recalling every ti he drove, sothing always went wrong.

Either chased down and forced to escape, or inexplicably running into troublemakers—damn, it's cursed!

At this point, the man who got out of the SUV stuck his neck out and said rudely to Lone Wolf, "You're so cocky because of a scar on your face?"

anwhile, two n got out of two vehicles behind, all tall with imposing presence.

The four stood side by side, sneering at Lone Wolf.

Lone Wolf wasn't fazed at all and chuckled, "No matter how many small fry there are, they're still small fry. Today I'll take you all out in one go."

"You've got quite the mouth, but do you really have the skills?" Among the five, one was ready to take action aggressively.

But just then, a woman got out of the last car.

After getting out, she rushed forward and commanded, "Stop all of you!"

Xiao Feng's gaze fell on the woman. She was tall, wearing tight jeans and a black hoodie, sporting bangs, looking like a college student yet to graduate.

"Miss!" The five spontaneously stepped aside, letting the woman walk to Lone Wolf.

"Hello, I'm Zhongli ng. My people were wrong. They were disrespectful; I apologize," the woman said politely, offering her hand.

Lone Wolf glanced at Zhongli ng's extended hand and smirked, "Miss Zhong, it's best to fire these subordinates early, to avoid implicating you soday with unnecessary trouble."

The five glared angrily, with two unable to resist stepping forward to attack, but Zhongli ng stopped them with a look.

She withdrew her hand, apologized with a smile, "I'm sorry, you might've misunderstood. My last na is Zhongli, my first na is ng."

Xiao Feng shook his head, sighing; what an embarrassnt.

Unexpectedly, Lone Wolf scratched his head, confused, "There's really such a surna?"

Zhongli ng smiled, "The Zhongli surna isn't as common as compound surnas like Gongsun, Murong, Ouyang, or Shangguan. It's understandable you haven't heard of it.

The surna can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn period, and Zhongli and Zhong are actually blood-related, essentially one family.

You calling Miss Zhong was not mistaken."

Xiao Feng cast an appreciative glance at Zhongli ng; her words showed high emotional intelligence, giving Lone Wolf face without undervaluing herself.

If Lone Wolf could let this go, the tension would be resolved without further incident.

However, things seldom go as planned.

Only to hear Lone Wolf say, "Whatever your surna is, everyone needs to eat, everyone bears their own burdens. Whoever caused the trouble should apologize."

With that, he pointed at the burly man who had threatened to smash the car earlier.

Zhongli ng frowned slightly, seemingly puzzled by Lone Wolf's thinking.

Isn't a personal apology more sincere?

But knowing so people are rigid, she nodded understandingly.

However, before she could respond, an aged yet powerful voice sounded, "Killing ends at a point, young man, don't push people too far."

Xiao Feng and the others looked toward the voice's source and saw an old man with a cane getting out of the last car.

The old man had white hair and beard, slightly hunched, appeared kind but exuded authority.

In essence, he looked approachable yet commanded respect, deterring jokes.

"He probably was an official, and a high-ranking one," Hui Yi whispered.

Xiao Feng nodded slightly. Although he hadn't interacted with such people much, their aura was similar; it was the sort cultivated from a long ti in power.

Soone like Song Zhengbo has maybe half the presence of this old man, which is respectable.

However, Lone Wolf wasn't intimidated, retorting rudely, "Demanding an apology is pushing too far?"

The old man pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, covering his mouth as he coughed intensely, "Cough, cough, cough, cough, cough…"

The coughing was violent, as if he was about to cough up his lungs.

"Grandfather!" Zhongli ng hurriedly rushed over to assist him, soothing his back to ease his breathing.

After a while, the old man waved, indicating he was fine, and walked with the cane to Lone Wolf, smiling, "Cool your temper, you're young. Anger harms health and leads to unwise actions."

"Enough with your lecture!" Lone Wolf snapped, "No one wants to hear it, I just want this guy to apologize!"

"Ignoring elder advice, you'll regret,"

The old man slowly shook his head, sighed, seemingly helpless against Lone Wolf's obstinance.

Then, unexpectedly, he swiftly turned his wrist, raising the cane's tip to press Lone Wolf's chest twice.

Lone Wolf never anticipated the seemingly sick old man would strike suddenly, and with such speed!

Imdiately, Lone Wolf grunted, stepping back several tis, almost falling.

"You!" Lone Wolf's eyes flashed with fury.

But before he could react, the old man bowed deeply to him, saying, "I'm sorry, but let's end it here. Why get hung up on an old fool?"

Xiao Feng rubbed his temples wearily, understanding the old man's intent.

First, a warning with action, then lowering himself to apologize, offering Lone Wolf a dignified exit, similar to Zhongli ng's approach.

Unfortunately, they t Lone Wolf.

It's like winking at a blind person, offering a path but unnoticed, fruitless.

Sure enough, Lone Wolf exploded in anger, furiously reaching out to grab the old man's collar.

The old man finally frowned for the first ti, moving back two steps, dodging Lone Wolf's grab.

anwhile, the five who'd been holding back now rushed at Lone Wolf.

Zhongli ng didn't intervene this ti, thinking the scar-faced fellow indeed needed a lesson.
