"Woo..."
The gust of wind arrived without warning, and the sound it made was reminiscent of soone crying.
In any other setting, it might not have been unsettling, but here in a cetery full of tombstones, it was hard not to let one's heart skip a beat.
Ji Liangcai shuddered as he looked at Ji Shengli, who suddenly bent even lower, and started coughing violently, mucus and tears pouring out together, resembling a drunken man lurching against a lamppost to vomit uncontrollably.
"Smack!"
A fist-sized sticky blob fell to the ground and began to wriggle, appearing as a living creature.
"Gasp..." Ji Liangcai inhaled sharply, feeling the chill at the back of his neck intensify, causing his hairs to stand on end.
"Smack!"
Another sticky blob erged from Ji Shengli's mouth, and within a minute, a total of six blobs appeared on the ground.
The first one expelled had mostly erged by now.
It was a turtle, but the pattern on its shell was quite different from what was common: densely packed black dots, a nightmare for anyone with a fear of clusters.
"Damn it, this bunch might as well open a zoo!" Lone Wolf couldn't help but curse upon witnessing this.
Xiao Feng felt the sa, what with them vomiting toads, winged ants, and now a turtle; was there anything the Celestial Defect Sect mbers couldn't puke up?
Watching this, he even wondered if soone might vomit up a lion, tiger, or elephant soday.
Now that would be truly impressive!
After finishing this, Ji Shengli seed to feel much better, even straightening his previously hunched back a bit.
He looked at Holy Army and Feng Haotian behind him and smiled, "Could you two lend a hand?"
The two exchanged glances, nodded slightly, and focused their gaze on Zheng Wei, three ters away.
Realizing the danger, Zheng Wei didn't hesitate, turning to run while yelling with all his might, "Help... Spurt!"
The word "" didn't make it out, as blood spurted from his mouth, and he fell directly to the ground.
"Go!" Xiao Feng kicked Hui Yi on his backside.
Caught off guard, Hui Yi tripped right there, and upon getting up, he was pushed forward by those behind him.
"This is your idea of no ambush?" Feng Haotian strode toward Zheng Wei furiously, shouting, "I'll kill you, traitor!"
He raised his foot, ready to stomp on Zheng Wei's head.
But before he could act on it, the sound of sothing slicing through the air appeared.
"Clang!"
A rhombus-shaped dart appeared at the spot where Feng Haotian was standing, falling to the ground with its tail shaking continuously.
Having retreated to the side of Ji Shengli and Holy Army, Feng Haotian locked his gaze on Xiao Feng, with murderous intent erging in his eyes, "Good timing, saves us from having to find you!"
"Form up!" Hui Yi shouted.
Behind him, Hui Er retorted in annoyance, "In such a narrow space, what formation are you talking about? Just charge straight in with a long snake formation."
"Quit the nonsense! It's not you in front."
Despite the words, Hui Yi did not stop moving.
Because he knew even if he halted, he would be pushed forward or knocked down and used as a stepping stone.
Realizing this, Hui Yi braced himself, placing his hands behind his back and bending over, seemingly ready to ram headfirst.
The three from the Celestial Defect Sect exchanged glances but none dared to advance and strike.
Typically, whether among masters sparring or ordinary people fighting, both sides would pay great attention to guarding their heads.
Because the head is a vulnerable part, exerting the sa amount of force on the body might be tolerable, but a blow to the head could lead to one's quick demise.
Now that soone was willingly exposing their head as bait for a strike, following the principle that strange occurrences often involve hidden threats, naturally no one wanted to test whether their fists were tougher or this person's head.
A few seconds later, both sides were engaged in battle, while the turtle that had "broken out of its shell" sped toward Zheng Wei.
To be accurate, it was heading for the puddle of blood in front of Zheng Wei.
"What kind of thing is this?" Xiao Feng asked.
Zheng Wei opened his mouth repeatedly but failed to speak.
Xiao Feng crouched down, watching the turtle, which swiftly drained the puddle of blood, and retrieved his Thunder Pattern Steel from the pocket of his windbreaker to strike one of the turtles.
"Sizzle!"
An electric arc flashed across the turtle shell, the struck turtle stiffened its limbs, opened its mouth, and erratically shook its head.
The remaining five turtles, upon witnessing the plight of their fellow, seed to beco aggressive.
One unable to hold back kicked its hind legs, lunging toward Xiao Feng's face, its mouth wide open, ready to bite.
Xiao Feng wasn't flustered, even taking a mont to observe the turtle's facial features.
However, closely inspecting it was a shock; inside its mouth were teeth akin to saw blades, paired with those tiny red eyes, presenting a truly terrifying sight!
In a mont of impulse, Xiao Feng pulled out the rhombus-shaped dart stuck in the ground beside him and jamd it into the turtle's open mouth.
"Ding!"
A vibration was felt, the turtle released its bite, opened its mouth again, and dropped to the ground.
The dart in Xiao Feng's hand now sported a row of round, clear holes.
"Wow! Has such a powerful bite force?"
Astonished, Xiao Feng considered that after finishing this fight, he could put those turtle teeth to good use, fashioning them into a spiked club or sothing of the sort.
When it ca to a fight, such a weapon could prove far superior to ordinary ones!
This, however, was for later; the urgent task was helping the three from the Celestial Defect Sect escape their plight.
"Can you hold out a bit longer?" Xiao Feng asked Zheng Wei.
After regaining so energy, Zheng Wei finally managed to speak, "I can, but I just can't handle these turtles."
Xiao Feng chuckled lightly, "That's easy."
With that, he picked up the Thunder Pattern Steel and started hitting the turtles on their shells like playing percussion.
The "ding dong" sounds echoed briefly, followed by wafts of a roasted at aroma.
Zheng Wei stared in shock at the six motionless turtles, had they been "electrified to death"?
Xiao Feng no longer paid attention to the severely injured and wretched-looking Zheng Wei, instead striding toward Hui Yi and the others locked in battle.
The eighteen Martial Monks navigated agilely within the scene, continuously changing the opponents facing Holy Army and the other two.
Zheng Wei had warned earlier that the Celestial Defect Sect needed "charge ti" to release big moves, which essentially ant they required ti to expel things from their mouths.
The goal being, instead of risking killing, slow the fight down, ensuring those three wouldn't have the chance to spit things out.
Lv Ziming, Old Ha, and Aspergillus oryzae were naturally busy as well, skirmishing on the outskirts while occasionally swinging ambushes, preventing the three from the Celestial Defect Sect from escaping.
Xiao Feng nodded approvingly; seeing all this, he probably wouldn't need to lift a finger.
At this mont, Ji Liangcai's voice rang out from behind, "Xiao?"
Xiao Feng turned around, and Ji Liangcai beca even more excited, "Xiao, it's really you!"
With that, he spread his arms and moved forward, seemingly wanting to give Xiao Feng a big hug!
