Jin Xiao couldn’t care less now about how many fated Daoist couples he had, because Zheng had rushed up to him.
"Senior Sister, spare my life!" Jin Xiao clutched his buttock, which had been scratched and was bleeding continuously, and fled northward, his usual aloof image completely shattered.
Gao Danyan smiled silently, rely watching calmly as Zheng chased Jin Xiao into the distance. This darn matchmaker, I knew I shouldn’t have co to watch the excitent. Now I’ll definitely be laughed at when I go back. At least there’s still Junior Sister Yue.
Peak Master Shu Yiming of White Tiger Peak had a bit of a headache. Jin Xiao’s luck with won wasn’t shallow, but it seed a tad too good. How did he get involved with Gao Danyan?
"Old Shu, we haven’t chatted in a long while, have we? I think we should get cozy," Third Elder Jiang Taiyuan appeared silently behind Shu Yiming, his voice sounding quite sinister.
Shu Yiming stiffly turned his head and said, "Old Jiang, maybe so other ti. It seems pretty busy right now."
"Busy with what? Is anything more important than the two of us getting cozy? Co on, let’s go." Jiang Taiyuan insisted, hooking an arm around Shu Yiming’s neck and dragging him away, leaving a long skid mark on the viewing platform.
The Golden Immortal Elders looked at each other in dismay until Jun Linseng smoothed things over, saying, "Their two families are getting close; it’s none of our business."
"Exactly, exactly," echoed the other Elders, though they also felt apprehensive. How co the disciples matched this ti seem to have much higher statuses than usual?
Gao Danyan was the sole disciple of Second Elder Jiang Taiyuan and was treated even better than his own family descendants. If not for her different surna, everyone would suspect she was Jiang Taiyuan’s illegitimate daughter.
"Poor Old Shu."
As if in response to the Elders’ thoughts, Shu Yiming’s annoyed voice rang out, "Old Jiang, don’t think I can’t beat you!"
"Stop, stop, I was wrong! Call Zheng back, please! Don’t smack my buttocks!"
"Miserable, truly too miserable."
Seemingly realizing she had been a bit overzealous with her matchmaking, the Matchmaker beca much calr in the subsequent attempts. The situations mostly involved couples who were mutually in love and just needed a little nudge to break through the final barrier—a joyous outco for all.
"Next up, I’m going to switch to female Cultivators," the Matchmaker suddenly announced.
Then, Chen Jiuge saw all the female Immortals in the square fleeing at incredible speeds. WHOOSH, WHOOSH, WHOOSH, they disappeared from sight.
"Ah, what’s going on?" Chen Jiuge was stunned.
Jin Yuanbao winked and said, "When a man has multiple Daoist couples, he’s called charming. But it’s different for won."
Chen Jiuge understood. He turned, intending to warn his still-present Senior Sister to take cover, only to find she had already been pulled into the air.
"HISS... Junior Brother, you should prepare yourself ntally," Wudao Tian said with a hint of sympathy.
Chen Jiuge was still trying to figure out what was happening when the Matchmaker in mid-air began to use her Divine Skills.
On the viewing platform, Jun Linseng said with a smile, "Great Elder, that’s your grand-disciple up there, isn’t it?"
Hidden in the void, Yue Shanghua also poked out her gossip-hungry head and remarked, "This girl is so pretty; one look and you know she’s no ordinary person."
Although Ye Sheng was also a bit worried, he said scornfully, "You think everyone’s like you?"
Yue Shanghua was frustrated. In her youthful ignorance, she hadn’t escaped when the Matchmaker selected her. The person she was matched with had turned the entire sky into a dark, oppressive mass. To end up with multiple future Daoist couples was one thing; if there were too many, she figured she would just choose one when the ti ca. Yet, after so many years, those who weren’t dead had already found their own Daoist couples, leaving her still single. It was laughably tragic.
"Alright, enough noise. The results are out."
Chen Jiuge felt extrely awkward. His Senior Sister was up there. His Martial Brother Wudao Tian had clearly warned him. Why hadn’t I thought of it imdiately?
Looking at his Senior Sister’s blushing face opposite him, Chen Jiuge felt that if he had to describe himself, he would be a boiling kettle whistling away.
WHISTLE! WHISTLE! WHISTLE!
"Senior Sister, perhaps we should go down?" Chen Jiuge really couldn’t stand the gazes of so many people; it was too embarrassing.
"That’s probably best."
The two descended in a fluster.
Seeing the knowing smirks on the faces of his Eldest Senior Brother and the others, Chen Jiuge and Wen Ruo wanted to flee but were instead pulled up to the viewing platform by the Sect Master and the Great Elder.
"Not bad, not bad." Ye Sheng was very satisfied that Wen Ruo’s only destined match turned out to be Chen Jiuge.
He had initially thought dozens of people might appear. He hadn’t expected this young lady to give him such a pleasant surprise.
"Certain people really need to learn from this," Ye Sheng said ambiguously, looking towards the void.
Because the Matchmaker had started selecting people again, Yue Shanghua did not reply.
"Alright, I’ve watched you two children grow up. Your Master has gone to the Infinite Star Sea, so I’ll take care of things for you," Jun Linseng said, presumptuously taking charge.
"Stop, stop, stop! What do you an ’you’ve watched us grow up’ and ’you’ll take care of it’? She is my grand-disciple; what are you doing here? If you have the ti, you’d better sort out your own son’s affairs!" Ye Sheng was not pleased.
"What do you an ’your grand-disciple’? Don’t think I don’t know. You didn’t even plan on acknowledging her at first. Now that you have, I’m telling you, it’s too late," Jun Linseng retorted sarcastically.
"She is still my grand-disciple, so stay out of it!" Ye Sheng replied coldly.
Watching the two quarrel, Chen Jiuge timidly asked, "Sect Master, Great Elder, is it possible that we’re not quite at that stage yet?"
"Do you want to be a heartbreaker?" both of the hundreds-of-thousands-of-years-old elders shouted in unison.
Startled, Chen Jiuge stiffened and said promptly, "No, no, that’s not it! I’m still a child!"
"That’s good to hear. If you beca a heartbreaker, hehe..." Jun Linseng gave a brilliant smile.
Chen Jiuge felt depressed. Why does the Heavenly Realm seem more bizarre the more I learn about it? They even have elders rushing marriages! This is downright unbelievable!
Wen Ruo, on the other hand, remained quiet and calm. Whether she had feelings for her Junior Brother, Wen Ruo didn’t know. She only knew that being with him felt rather nice, very relaxing.
"Well, you are indeed still young, so let’s wait a few more years. In the anti, you can cultivate your relationship," Jun Linseng said, sowhat regretfully.
"That’s my line!" Ye Sheng said, his expression darkening.
Chen Jiuge didn’t know the outco of Jun Linseng and Ye Sheng’s argunt, nor did he want to. He had rely co to watch the excitent, but sohow he had beco the spectacle. It felt very strange.
Just like now.
Looking at his Senior Sister, who was as quiet as a quail, Chen Jiuge had an indescribable feeling. In any case, it was quite wonderful.
Chen Jiuge was sowhat distracted during the subsequent "executions" in mid-air, until the super shocking news of a Heavenly Immortal Elder’s affair caught his attention.
In mid-air, the female Elder fiercely shielded the Inner Sect Disciple, who only had Mahayana cultivation, behind her. Opposite them was her original partner, an Elder who was bursting with rage, his hair standing on end. If not for the lack of a tail, he would have been the spitting image of a Super Saiyan.
"If you’re so capable, you get tested too!" the female Elder shouted.
"Test ? Fine!" the male Elder replied, his expression one of utmost loyalty.
Then, a Seven-tailed Spiritual Fox appeared in mid-air. The male Elder had cheated with a Spiritual Beast.
HISS. The collective gasp of the spectators below seed to contribute to the warming of the Heavenly Realm.
The male Elder hadn’t expected that this thing could even Test Spiritual Beast; he was completely dumbfounded.
Chen Jiuge watched the two Heavenly Immortal Elders fighting fiercely in the sky. He had thought the Sect Master and others would intervene. However, they rely set up a Barrier to prevent the disciples below from being hard by stray attacks and then began watching the drama, popcorn in hand.
Chen Jiuge was truly floored. This situation was just too bizarre!
This drama is quite entertaining, though.
In the end, the male Elder gained the upper hand because his affair partner, the Seven-tailed Spiritual Fox, was also a Heavenly Immortal.
The unwilling female Elder was still arrested. But the disciple she protected fared worse. After all, the female Elder was a Heavenly Immortal, and their battle hadn’t been fought with full force; it more closely resembled a family dispute. That disciple, however, was truly dood.
The subsequent "executions" grew increasingly intense, keeping Chen Jiuge and the others captivated.
Unfortunately, all good things must co to an end. The Matchmaker’s Red Thread departed, leaving behind pairs of infatuated n and won. Carrying large amounts of gifts, they floated away contentedly.
Watching the whole spectacle left Chen Jiuge utterly exhausted. It had indeed been a thoroughly thrilling ga-drama.
"Junior Brother, let’s go to your place for a drink! Today was really too interesting!" Wudao Tian said, thoroughly pleased with the day’s excitent.
Chen Jiuge smiled awkwardly. Rembering he was also part of the spectacle instantly dampened his mood. Yet, it wasn’t really sothing he could just dismiss, especially since today had, after all, been quite interesting.
