The suffocating eting finally ended sooner than expected.

Not only did Edmund have a lot of work to catch up on after being away from the palace for a whole week, but Primrose also didn’t want things to turn violent if Salem kept talking too much around him.

"I’ll take my leave, Your Majesty," Salem said with a polite bow before walking out of the receiving room.

Edmund stood up from the couch as well, looking a little unsure about leaving his wife alone after being gone for so long.

[What if my wife still misses ?]

Your Majesty, you’re being a little too confident now!

Primrose, honestly, didn’t mind at all if Edmund left her. After all, it wasn’t like they had spent much ti alone together anyway.

"I have to go now," Edmund said. "I hope you don’t bother ."

Primrose tilted her head, waiting for the ntal scream that would definitely co after he realized how weird that sounded.

[Wait, no! If I say it like that, she’ll think I hate being around her!]

At this point, Primrose might as well open a class called ’How to Talk Kindly and Sweetly to Your Wife 101’ and Edmund would definitely get a zero on the first test.

"Of course, Your Majesty." Primrose lifted her fan and hid half of her face behind it. "I don’t have the courage to bother you."

[See?! She totally misunderstood !]

[I need to say sothing else quickly.]

"You can bother ," blurted out Edmund.

Primrose frowned a little. Now he sounded like a king who couldn’t make up his mind. One mont he didn’t want to see his wife, and the next, he was giving her permission to bother him.

Not wanting things to hang in confusion, Primrose gently pushed him to speak more. "I won’t understand what you an if you don’t make your intentions clear, Your Majesty."

She added, "Can you explain what you ant by that?"

Edmund took a deep breath, trying to find the right words, especially if he wanted to clear up the misunderstanding between them.

After a few long seconds, the awkward Lycan King finally spoke. "I have a lot of work to do today." He paused, then added, "If you distract ... I won’t be able to finish anything."

[She could just sit quietly in my study, and I’d still be distracted because she’s more interesting than any of my work.]

[And if she talks to while I’m working? Forget it. Her voice is softer than music, I wouldn’t be able to focus at all.]

Primrose blinked, looking calm on the outside, but inside she was stunned.

Was Edmund really this obsessed with her? Whether it was her body or just her voice, he was clearly falling head over heels.

It was proven that Edmund was truly a pathetic wife-slave deep down in his heart.

"I understand," Primrose said softly, then added, "But why did you say I could bother you?"

Edmund answered slowly, "If sothing bad happens to you, or if you need my help with anything ... you can co to my study."

Well, that was better.

At least he had chosen to explain himself instead of running away or letting the misunderstanding grow into a mountain between them.

"Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty." A sweet smile spread across Primrose’s lips, and for a second, Edmund’s heart forgot how to beat. "I’ll rember this with all my heart."

That smile was enough to completely shut down the Lycan King’s brain.

He imdiately turned around, heading for the door, but halfway there, he paused.

Right. He hadn’t said goodbye.

So Edmund turned back and walked toward her again.

"I’ll see you again in the morning, my wife," he said, almost like a soft reminder that she’d promised to give him his first lesson on how to smile.

Primrose nodded, still smiling warmly. "Let’s have breakfast sowhere beautiful tomorrow, Your Majesty."

She was growing tired of the atmosphere in the dining room. On top of that, she always felt a little uncomfortable whenever she ate there.

Not only was the dining table too big for just the two of them, but Primrose also had to listen to the constant thoughts of the maids and soldiers who were always standing by in the room.

Even though they never said anything bad about her in their minds, she still found it exhausting to hear their thoughts all the ti, making it impossible for her to eat in peace.

Therefore, she wanted to try to eat in another place.

How about the greenhouse? No, it was more suitable for snack ti, so ... where would be a good place for them to have breakfast tomorrow? Sowhere that could lift soone’s mood so they wouldn’t have to put effort into smiling?

Oh, she knew one place!

The next morning, she asked the maids to bring breakfast to the palace rooftop instead of the dining room. They didn’t say a word, but their thoughts imdiately filled Primrose’s mind.

[Does the Queen feel uncomfortable eating near us, so much so that she chose to eat in such a secluded place?]

[Did His Majesty make our queen angry? If that’s the case, it makes sense why she’d want to eat sowhere as odd as this rather than face him in the dining room.]

Wait ...

Did they think Primrose was going to eat alone on the palace rooftop? No wonder they only brought a small amount of food up there.

[Oh no ... does Her Majesty plan to jump off the rooftop after eating because she’s so upset with His Majesty?!]

[I need to get the soldiers to put soft mattresses down there, just in case!]

She’d only pretended to want to end her life once—well, actually twice—but now they thought she’d try to kill herself every ti she got upset with her husband?!

If that were true, she’d probably attempt it five tis a day just because he annoyed her all the tis!

"Wait." Primrose called out to the maid carrying the dessert. "I’m going to eat with His Majesty on the rooftop, so please bring his food up there as well."
