Instead of being relieved that the queen wouldn’t be eating alone on the roof, the maid’s face turned pale within seconds. [Does our queen want to commit suicide in front of His Majesty to make him regret his mistake for the rest of his life?!]

Oh, for heaven’s sake, she wasn’t going to jump!

Primrose sighed inwardly. It seed like she needed to start showing affection to Edmund in public, so that people would think of them as a loving couple.

In that way, they wouldn’t think anything bad about their relationship.

"And ... please tell His Majesty that I’ll be waiting for him on the roof." Primrose hid half of her face behind a fan, pretending to be shy when she ntioned her husband. "Tell him ... I want a romantic breakfast today."

[Wait ... they’re not fighting?! This breakfast is actually ... a date?!]

"I’ll inform His Majesty right away!" the maid said with a deep bow before practically sprinting toward the King’s chamber.

[I have to make sure he wears his best outfit!]

He didn’t have to do that.

But whatever. Primrose was too lazy to correct the misunderstanding as long as it wasn’t hurting anyone.

After that, she made her way to the rooftop.

The soldiers looked at her with a bit of confusion because this was the first ti soone decided to have breakfast on the rooftop palace.

They had even rushed to clean the entire area, sweeping away every last speck of dust and dirt so the Queen could eat in comfort.

Primrose hadn’t asked them to go that far, but when she stepped onto the rooftop, she was genuinely impressed because there wasn’t a single trace of dust left.

How in the world did they manage to do all of that in under an hour?!

The beasts’ stamina was truly sothing else.

As for the rooftop itself ... well, it wasn’t exactly a breathtaking sight. It was just a plain, open space, surrounded by the pointed rooftops of the other palace buildings.

A small round table had already been placed at the center. Originally, Primrose had requested it be set closer to the railing, but clearly, the palace staff had other ideas.

They must have been terrified that she’d actually throw herself off if they placed the table too close to the edge.

The table was much smaller than the one they usually used in the dining room, but for so reason, Primrose felt so much more comfortable sitting at this tiny table.

Maybe it was because the tiny table made their breakfast feel less formal.

Beside that, she also had already told the maids and soldiers that this was supposed to be a romantic breakfast, so she wanted them to leave the rooftop. Thankfully, they took the hint and imdiately disappeared.

"Did I keep you waiting too long, my wife?"

Edmund finally arrived about fifteen minutes later. Normally, he always showed up on ti at the dining room exactly at 9 AM—never late, not even by a minute.

That’s why Primrose had been a little worried that he wouldn’t co at all. Maybe he thought having breakfast on the rooftop was too weird?

But she quickly pushed those thoughts aside. It made sense that he took longer today. After all, she had asked him to co at 7 AM, two hours earlier than usual.

She lifted her gaze to him and froze for a mont.

Edmund looked ... different. He was more polished, more refined, and undeniably handso.

He was dressed in full royal attire—a navy coat with silver embroidery draped over his broad shoulders, paired with a black silk tunic that fit his body perfectly.

A silver brooch, engraved with the royal crest, rested at his collar, and a matching belt cinched at his waist.

His usually tousled black hair was neatly styled, swept back so Primrose could see his icy-blue eyes clearly.

[I don’t know if my outfit is good enough for our first date?]

Good enough?

Dear heaven, wasn’t this outfit a bit too much?! They were just having breakfast, not attending a noble’s banquet!

Besides, why did he think this was their first date?

It was just breakfast. So why—

Oh.

Was this because she had told him she wanted a romantic breakfast?

Well, it was indeed their first date, then.

[The maid told , my wife spent so much ti getting dressed and picking out her best outfit just to et this morning.]

What? She had only taken an hour to get ready, and even then, she had barely styled her hair properly because she was too lazy to dress up in the morning.

But ... was he late because he had spent extra ti choosing the perfect outfit and making sure he looked good, just so she wouldn’t be disappointed in him?

Well, his effort was worth it.

[The maid was right. My wife looks so beautiful this morning ... and she even slls as sweet as flowers.]

[Compared to her, I must look like an ugly duckling.]

Ugly duckling where?!

The only thing Primrose saw in front of her was a ridiculously handso, insanely attractive man who was so breathtaking, she montarily forgot how to speak!

"No, not really." Primrose smiled at him.

Besides, it wasn’t like she had been waiting that long. After the food was served, Salem had to taste everything first, so in reality, she had only been waiting for about five minutes.

"You look ... handso today, Your Majesty." She batted her eyelashes and tilted her head slightly, acting like a shy woman complinting her crush.

But the truth was, she wasn’t exaggerating. Her husband did look way too handso this morning.

[MY WIFE JUST COMPLINTED ?!]

[She ... she said I’m handso... But was she just being polite? I don’t think a beast like is handso enough for her ...]

What kind of low self-esteem is this?!

The last thing Edmund should ever call himself was ugly!

Primrose raised an eyebrow, leaning forward just slightly. "And what about , Your Majesty?" she asked, her lips curving upward. "Do I look beautiful enough today?"
