Each student was assigned a spot for the first lesson, which was the perfect opportunity for the excited system to contribute.
"Is it possible to scan him now? He’s just behind that panel!" Luca hoped for the best and was thankfully given a positive answer by D-29.
While D-29 was busy scanning his classmate, Luca focused on the lecture about taking out and putting back the cha.
"Most of you know how to pilot one but weren’t doing it under duress." Instructor Falco thumbed the necklace in his hand while looking at the students.
"Just because you know how to retrieve and store your cha does not an you have the muscle mory to do it as fast as possible."
"Every second you waste in an ever-changing battlefield is a chance given to your enemy. So, the most essential aspect is to make sure you can board your cha as soon as possible. Even the best cha would be useless to a pilot that couldn’t even get into the cockpit."
Luca felt personally attacked by that statent. He was sitting on a gold mine but didn’t even know how to take it out.
Then, the instructor demonstrated taking out his cha and then retrieving it in the blink of an eye.
It was like an unconscious movent, and the instructor didn’t waste ti mounting the cha the mont it hit the ground. The sa was true for dismounting and retrieving.
"Instructor Moore will watch over your practice in my stead." Instructor Falco then left us to try while assisting the students who were still picking their chas.
Luca tried it in front of the provided training space, pressing the switch for the first ti.
A dark blue cha appeared out of thin air and then disappeared after pressing the button the second ti around.
But if Luca was honest, retrieving items stored in his Dungeon was much faster because there was no need to press a button to access it.
It was instant and would ensure that the cha wouldn’t be lost because of a misplaced cha necklace.
That would probably be the worst way to die on the battlefield.
And what about thieves? chas were very expensive and would surely be very lucrative to people with impure thoughts.
So he tried it.
Sure enough, there was nothing faster than that. He didn’t even have to press anything.
Then he tried it with the other cha, wanting to see what that one looked like.
Unlike the cha issued by the school, this cha had a color combination of gold and black.
It looked magnificent.
And expensive.
Like really expensive, so Luca shelved the cha as fast as he put it out. He practically blinked at it, took a ntal photo, and then hid it in fear of standing out too much.
What were they thinking when they chose this color?
If the enemy needed to find a particular target, would he not look like a beacon even from afar?
Luca’s resolve to avoid using that cha was strengthened after seeing its appearance, especially compared to the cha issued by the school.
But he noticed one important difference: it seed like they had no weapons for the school-issued cha.
Was that by design? Or was it a way to prevent them from blowing up the school within the first week?
The golden cha had visible weapons, so he was sure he’d have sothing to protect himself in an ergency.
Luca then looked around to verify that all the school-issued chas had no visible weapons. He saw so of his classmates release their own chas.
Like the cha given by Butler Gary, these cha were clearly more advanced, and it was then that Luca realized just how many versions there could possibly be.
Not only were they different in colors, but the sizes were also varying. Those bulky-looking ones better be the heavy chas, while the ones that resembled an insect’s build should be the light kind.
Then he saw Xavier’s cha from the corner of his eyes and marveled at the dark grey build that looked very sleek.
By its form, this one must be a light cha.
Luca gawked at the towering cha and couldn’t help but nod in approval. It looked like it fit his roommate’s general vibe. This was sothing that mimicked his personality.
Xavier actually noticed Luca’s weird antics. The chipmunk’s expressions kept changing, and he wondered what could’ve gone wrong within that span of ti.
And now he was looking at his cha and nodding like an old sage.
Xavier couldn’t understand how soone could enter the top section while looking so lost.
Then he rembered how he watched Luca store practice taking out and shelving his cha. At first, it was as if he was trying it for the first ti, but then Luca did it instantaneously, and Xavier’s attention was suddenly piqued.
Granted, that was a basic skill, but that speed could rival that of an experienced soldier.
This actually reminded him of Jax, who was an odd existence even for him.
That guy would always get himself into the weirdest situations but would sohow find himself victorious.
And it was never really through using his brain. He was all brawn and luck.
anwhile, this short stick always seed confused, but would sohow make it work. Maybe he was also lucky? Or was he just good at pretending to be innocent?
Xavier could still rember how that guy bypassed his instinctual defenses and managed to survive even after touching him like that.
However, this also made him wary of Luca, as a person who could get so close could be a huge threat to him.
In reality, he could have asked Kyle to switch rooms with Luca, but he wanted to keep possible threats closer for better observation.
This was especially true since they hadn’t gotten any promising leads about that Star Mall vendor. It’s also been a while since the shop was updated, and it’s been driving everyone nuts, especially Eden, who couldn’t believe that soone could drag her around like that.
Unbeknownst to Xavier, D-29 was not only leading Eden around but was also checking on his results.
"Host, I’ve managed to get a scan of your roommate!" D-29 announced with pride. This was a monuntal thing for both of them, and it was glad that it finished the scan before the target moved on to a different exercise.
"What did you find out?"
"It’s his spiritual energy, Host. If my guess is correct, this should be that illness called Spiritual Power Imbalance."
D-29 projected a diagram in Luca’s mind that illustrated the typical energy pathways of a human being.
"This is what a normal body would look like, while this one is the scan of your roommate."
"Woah. It’s like oil and water!"
It really looked like that. Xavier’s spiritual energy radiated from his core, but this muddy energy surrounded it as if attempting to penetrate the energy barrier.
"Then have you figured out how we managed to get Corruption points from him?"
"I have a hypothesis; if possible, maybe we could try to verify it!"
Luca looked skeptical, and rightfully so, because he really wouldn’t like this testing thing.
