Li Zhanfeng and those beside him had already turned pale, not only because of the pressure exuded by the higher-ups of the guild, but also because of what they had done today.
After they finally learned Aldrian and his wives' identities, they understood what kind of beings they had offended.
Beings said to be beyond SSSS-rank!
A wave of weakness washed over them the mont they realized just how badly they were screwed this ti. The notice from headquarters had clearly warned them to be careful around those otherworlders and not to disturb them.
Unfortunately, the notice ca too late. They had already disturbed them. Worse, they had even offended them.
The higher-ups of the Shanghai branch had initially been furious upon seeing one of their S-rank hunters dead in such a horrible way at the hands of so otherworlders.
They wanted revenge!
They wanted blood!
Moreover, news of Ye Zhentao's death had already spread across the city. To wash away this humiliation, they needed to make those who dared to go against the Red Moon Guild pay a hundredfold.
But the mont they found out who Ye Zhentao had provoked, their fury instantly shifted toward him and the others who had accompanied him in the restaurant.
How the hell did they end up clashing with the exact beings warned by headquarters?!
What kind of dog shit coincidence was this?!
"Apologize to him and his wives," Han Kuang said, his voice tight with restrained fury.
Li Zhanfeng and the others beside him were stunned.
He gritted his teeth as a bitter feeling welled up inside him. He knew why their leader made that decision. This ti, they had truly hit a wall.
Normally, Han Kuang would not care about any of Ye Zhentao's misconduct. Ye Zhentao had always been protected by the guild.
But now, sothing drastic had to be done to fix the situation.
Sothing humiliating.
Apologizing to the people they had offended.
It might be the first ti in so long that they had to lower their heads after doing whatever they wanted without restraint.
Li Zhanfeng knew this was the best course of action for now, but his pride could not accept it. Soone like him, who had always been wild and arrogant, was now being told to apologize.
And not just to anyone.
To otherworlders!
"Master Han—"
"I don't want to hear any rebuttal. You will do it, or I will send you to those otherworlders myself, no matter your condition."
Li Zhanfeng trembled at the firm voice. He could feel that Han Kuang was truly furious.
"Do you know what kind of fate is waiting for us if headquarters learns what happened here? Forget those otherworlders knocking on our doors. The headquarters will punish us themselves. Do you understand what that ans?" Han Kuang said.
He took off his glasses and placed them in his chest pocket, revealing his furious gaze. Anyone present could now clearly see his expression.
At this mont, he was truly pissed off.
Hearing ntion of punishnt from headquarters, everyone present shuddered. The headquarters' punishnt ant there was a chance they would be tortured by the guild master himself.
The worst kind of punishnt.
Many had said it was better to die than to experience it.
"I'll say it again. Apologize to him and his wives. I will tell you their location later, and you will go to them. All of you," Han Kuang said.
"I don't care if you have to prostrate yourselves, roll on the ground, or crawl like dogs. What I want to hear is that those otherworlders forgive you and let this matter go. Do you understand?"
Li Zhanfeng gritted his teeth, but he still answered.
"Yes, Master." His voice was low and reluctant.
"Do all of you understand?!" Han Kuang shouted, as if demanding a firr answer.
"Yes, Master!" Li Zhanfeng and the others beside him responded in much louder voices.
"Good. Dismissed. Throw this corpse out of my sight. What a hassle," Han Kuang said as he looked at Ye Zhentao's corpse with contempt before walking toward the exit. The other higher-ups followed him, leaving Li Zhanfeng and a few others behind.
Li Zhanfeng lowered his head, his teeth still clenched. He remained unwilling deep inside. He had thought the guild would back him up this ti, just like every other ti they ssed with soone.
But it ended like this.
The headquarters had sent that kind of notice, there was nothing he could do except follow Han Kuang's orders. Even if he resisted, he still had to do it.
The mont he recalled Ye Zhentao's death, fear rose again within him. If that otherworlder decided to make them pay later, there was nothing he could do.
He would end up the sa as Ye Zhentao.
The only choices left were death at the hands of the otherworlder, or punishnt from headquarters.
He took a deep breath to steady himself, then turned toward the door. The others beside him followed. It was clear they were also unwilling, but they feared the consequences far more if they disobeyed Han Kuang.
'Fuck,' Li Zhanfeng thought.
---------------------------------
In one of the city's parks, Aldrian and his wives were enjoying the night scenery while Su Wenxin surfed the internet, watching the uproar that had shaken the entire city.
The news of Ye Zhentao's death was sothing many people in the city had long been waiting for.
But that death also carried consequences.
The Red Moon Guild's retaliation.
Their retaliation would affect the common people.
The only way to prevent that from happening was if the Red Moon Guild chose to hold themselves back and not pursue this matter.
Which would an admitting they were in the wrong.
But she had never seen those bastards admit such a thing. Their pride was as high as the heavens.
The only possibility she could think of was that they realized the danger of going against Aldrian. She hoped the notice from the Hunter Association had made them understand what kind of beings they had tried to provoke and forced them to abandon any thoughts of revenge.
She then noticed Aldrian approaching before he finally sat beside her.
"Still thinking about the Red Moon Guild?" he asked with a faint smile, and she instinctively nodded.
"Well… I just can't help but feel worried, Sir Aldrian. I keep thinking about the possibility of their retaliation and how this city might be affected. Although I'm grateful that that troublemaker is finally dead, it might lead to sothing that harms the common people." She let out a sigh.
"The Red Moon Guild's retaliation won't consider the lives of common people as long as they can achieve their goal. I just hope they choose to back off after receiving the Hunter Association's notice."
Aldrian nodded. "I see. That ans you are a good person, Miss Su, thinking about the well-being of others."
He paused, his gaze drifting toward his wives in the distance, who were enjoying ice cream.
"Do you fear after what I did, Miss Su?" Aldrian suddenly asked after a few monts of silence.
Su Wenxin raised her eyebrows at him, then looked ahead.
"Well… maybe a little. No offense, Sir Aldrian, but even if you hadn't done what you did in the restaurant today, I would still fear you. You and your wives are beings beyond our world's reach, after all. And that kind of death scene is nothing compared to what I've already seen in my life. The invasions of those monsters and otherworlders have shown things far more brutal."
Aldrian nodded, and silence fell between them once more.
"Uhm, Sir Aldrian… if I may ask, how did you do it? I an, how did you make Ye Zhentao end up like that? What kind of power do you have? I'm sorry if I'm being too prying, I'm just curious," she said.
She truly hadn't sensed anything.
At that mont, Ye Zhentao's hand was suddenly severed. The next, his eyes exploded, and he died as if he had been poisoned.
All that ti, Aldrian had simply sat there, focused on his al, without even looking at Ye Zhentao or the others.
Aldrian smiled at her question.
"Well, it's not much of a secret, so of course I can tell you. I can control layers of space and turn them into a blade to sever his hand. I can control blood and make his eyes burst. I can create traceless, deadly poison that only affects him. And I can control ti to clean up the scene to the ti before the ss."
Su Wenxin's eyes widened in astonishnt.
"Control ti? You can do that, Sir Aldrian?"
Aldrian only smiled. Since he had reached the immortal realm, his control over ti had improved. At this point, he could rewind ti up to fifteen seconds into the past.
If he continued training, he might extend it even further. Although it sounded trivial, it was actually a remarkable achievent.
Seeing Aldrian's smile alone was enough of an answer for Su Wenxin.
Su Wenxin had heard of abilities similar to Aldrian's from other hunters and otherworlders, except for controlling ti.
She had always thought ti could not be controlled. Sothing absolute, sothing no one could interfere with.
But now she had just heard that soone could control it.
'What is he? A god?'
"Miss Su, you would be surprised at what kind of abilities people from my origin possess. Things that people here believe to be impossible are very much possible there. It is a place where unimaginable power can be attained, but also a place governed by far crueler natural laws," Aldrian said.
Su Wenxin's heart trembled, but then she let out a sigh.
"Sir Aldrian's origin, huh… from the way you describe it, it sounds like a terrifying place. No offense, Sir Aldrian."
"Well, it can be the most terrifying place, but at the sa ti, it can also be the most wonderful. Just like this world, where both good and bad exist. It can be terrifying, but also beautiful. It depends on how you live," Aldrian said, which made Su Wenxin smile.
"True."
Silence fell between them once more.
"Sir Aldrian, do you still want to go sowhere after this?" Su Wenxin asked.
Aldrian smiled. "Well, there is a place I want to visit, but you can head back ho. We can go there ourselves."
