After having a nice bath alone, Amon dressed up and went back to the village.
Soon it would be night. The dull sky was getting darker. Amon’s eyes were searching for sothing very important.
’Where is she? Where did she go?’
Amon was searching for Scarlett like so lost puppy. Not his fault. In the end, he was a man.
"Buddy, what are you searching for so desperately?"
Amon heard a familiar voice and turned toward it. He saw Julian standing there with a sword hanging at his waist. His body was covered with sweat.
’Seems like he was training.’
Despite there being no danger of monsters, all the youngsters and elders trained every day. Sparring against each other. Learning spells. Exchanging knowledge with one another.
Amon gave him a small smile.
Julian frowned slightly at that smile. It looked too suspicious. He watched as Amon stepped closer to him.
With a curious look, Amon asked, "You are alone? Where did you co from all sweaty? And where are the others? You are alone."
Julian wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied casually, "Just ca back from training. Everyone parted ways to their hos. I was going toward mine and saw you."
Amon listened to him quietly. Then, with a slightly mischievous expression, he spoke, "My friend Julian... I wanted to ask you about soone."
Julian narrowed his eyes and asked cautiously, "What? Who do you want to know about?"
Rubbing his palms together and smiling widely, Amon replied eagerly, "Julian... it’s just about a person you just t. Could you tell ? Please."
Julian crossed his arms and replied casually, "Well... I guess there’s no problem in that. So who are you asking about?"
With sparkling eyes, Amon answered, "Her na is Scarlett. She’s an extrely beautiful lady... tell about her."
Julian looked surprised for a few seconds, but soon his expression turned deadpan. With a flat tone, he said, "Really? Don’t tell you’ve got so kind of crush on her. Honestly, if you have, then just give up. You won’t have a chance."
Amon raised his right eyebrow curiously and asked teasingly, "Oh really? Did you also try and get rejected?"
Julian’s face turned sour. With slight irritation, he replied, "It’s true that she might be the most beautiful woman in the village currently. But man, she’s many years older than . Like seven or more. So yeah, I don’t feel anything toward her."
Amon burst into laughter. "Hahaha! Oh boy! You really think so..."
Then slowly he stopped laughing. His expression turned confused as he continued, "Well, I guess... you are normal. It’s pretty logical for you not to like her since she’s so old... I’m the weird one... h, who cares."
He casually dismissed the common sense.
With renewed curiosity, he said, "Just tell about her."
Julian let out a small sigh and began explaining, "Okay, okay! Her na is Scarlett. She’s like you... ca from outside three years ago. But unlike you, she was never very friendly with anyone. She talks only when it’s needed. That’s it. Many n of her age tried to woo her, only to get rejected shafully. She doesn’t give any response to flirting."
Amon smirked slightly.
’The last person who ca to the village before was her. Interesting. I wonder from which kingdom she ca from.’
Looking at Julian seriously, Amon said, "Tell about her personality in detail."
Julian scratched the back of his head and replied, "She’s not very talkative. Always looks cold. Calm. Almost impossible to approach. People hesitate to even start a conversation with her."
He continued thoughtfully, "Though she does talk respectfully with elder people. But when it cos to n or others, she treats them like nothing. Not rude exactly... just indifferent."
Amon listened quietly, but inside he was getting more excited.
Under his breath, he muttered, "I wonder from which human kingdom she might have co from."
Julian suddenly widened his eyes slightly as if rembering sothing. "Oh! I forgot to tell you."
Amon looked at him expectantly.
With a serious expression, Julian added, "She’s not human... she’s a vampire."
"Vampire..." Amon’s eyes widened. He went silent for a while.
Who were vampires? The blood-sucking race. What are humans for them? Walking, talking food.
’Goodness! I was lucky to know about her before trying to flirt.’ Amon sighed in relief.
Growing up in a world or rather, a palace where demons, werewolves, and vampires were considered enemies of humans, he naturally had a similar ntality like others. Maybe he might have thought differently, if he was transmigrated in this world for one or two years. But he was reincarnated and grown up here for more than eighteen years now.
He was not at fault. His excitent started to dim.
"Tch!" Amon clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Julian wondered what made his mood sour. With confusion, he asked, "Does knowing that she’s a vampire... was that bad?"
On the other side, Julian, who was born in this place and had grown up where mostly all races lived together, found it surprising to see Amon’s sudden change. Though he had heard how the outside world was, it still amazed him each ti seeing such reactions.
Amon gazed at him and said calmly, "I guess you must be used to living together with all races. So it’s normal for you."
Julian replied firmly, "She’s not bad though. I think you are just overthinking. Everyone here is equal. The outside world doesn’t work here."
Amon listened to him carefully. He suddenly rembered his eting with her.
The extrely beautiful yet indifferent face. Those crystal-like athyst eyes. Smooth white skin. Long red, thick wavy hair. Her unbelievably attractive figure and that slight flush on her cheek while seeing him.
That mory was enough for Amon to change.
’Fuck! I don’t care about her race. If she’s a vampire, then so be it. We will have our bloody romance.’
A creepy smile blood on his face.
Julian felt a shiver run down his spine seeing that smile. He wondered if he had made a good choice by trying to speak about equality among races.
Amon patted Julian’s left shoulder.
With determination in his eyes, he said, "Thanks for your information. I appreciate it. Now I am not going to back off. So what if she’s a vampire? It doesn’t matter. If she wants my blood, I am willing to give it to her."
Saying that with resolved face, Amon started to run away in the direction of the canteen.
Julian stretched out his hand and shouted, "Wait—"
But Amon was already far away.
He had just made the young man’s resolve even stronger.
