Amon didn’t wait for even a second. He walked toward the edge and knelt down to wash his face.

He was around two ters away from her. But she sensed him imdiately. Her wet face turned in his direction. Amon looked at her face. No matter how many tis he saw her, he always got srized by her.

Currently, her face was slightly pink, not because she was flushed or embarrassed. It was just that her skin was too fair. Washing her face with cold water must have made her cheeks turn rosy.

So strands were wet and clung to her skin. Water droplets dripped over her face like crystals.

Amon exhaled heavily. "...Good morning." He greeted her with a gentle smile.

She studied his face for a while, didn’t reply to his morning greeting, and got up. She shook the dust from her clothes and straightened them quietly.

"Not even a greeting, huh.." Amon shook his head, focusing on washing his face. He scooped so water in both his palms, then splashed it on his face. The cold liquid hit his skin, making the remaining sleep go away instantly.

After cleaning himself, he straightened up. He looked around to see what was going on—more precisely, where she was.

’Found her!’ She was sitting on a branch of one of the trees. Her smooth legs dangled from it.

Amon closed the distance instantly. He started to climb the tree.

Once he reached the sa branch as her, he sat on it. Both legs dangled from the edge, looking straight at the view. The tree was the tallest among the others.

Sigh.

Amon heard a sigh coming from his side.

"What happened? You look troubled."

Scarlett remained silent. Then she opened her mouth to speak. "You’re really asking what happened? You clearly know the reason."

Amon turned his face forward.

Whistle~

He started to whistle, trying to act like he didn’t know what she was talking about.

She narrowed her eyes dangerously, shooting arrows at him. "Now you are trying to avoid it?"

Amon stopped whistling, turned to her, and smirked. "Yes. Also, I will keep bothering you unless you beco my friend. What will you do? Bite ? Drink my blood?" he asked.

A vein bulged on her forehead. But her lips curled up in a smile. "Not a bad idea."

Soon, her expression turned mischievous. She leaned closer to him, her lips parting slowly. Two sharp fangs extended from her teeth, long and gleaming like a true vampire’s.

She raised one arm, curling her fingers into a claw to show off her sharpened nails. Her crystal-clear athyst-colored eyes turned into glowing blood red. One eye was partially hidden behind her red hair.

She hissed softly. "If you irritate any more, I’ll bite you... and drink your blood."

Amon blinked a few tis. Her eyes were a dangerous red, like true blood.

’Cute.’

Yet Amon thought of her as cute. She was just too much right now.

So Amon burst into laughter. "Hahaha!"

Her eyes frowned a little. Her elongated fangs slowly returned to normal. Her eyes went back to their usual color.

"You looked so cute and adorable just now."

The impact was imdiate.

She clenched her teeth tightly. Her hand ford into a strong fist.

Her cheeks turned red with anger, embarrassnt, and humiliation.

Yes, she must have felt humiliated for being called cute and adorable by a man who was younger than her.

"You did it again?!"

"What did I do again?"

Amon asked innocently with a wide smile.

"Alright! You asked for it." She lunged at Amon.

He was shocked by her actions.

Mana rushed through his veins, and he jumped down off the tree.

Thud.

’Fuck!’

He didn’t wait. He dashed forward.

BOOM!

The place where he had just landed a few seconds ago. Scarlett struck there with her sheer strength.

It was her punch that landed where Amon had been standing.

It shattered the ground there. Debris flew in every direction. The ground shook slightly.

Amon, who was now standing a few ters away from her, gulped down his saliva.

’She’s too strong!’

One of the things he forgot to ask others was how strong she was. Well, he just got the trailer of it.

He raised both his hands. "Listen, Scarlett! Calm down! No need to get so worked up over a little teasing."

She stood up and shook her right hand, the one she had just punched with. A chilling smile was carved on her face. She had no thought of stepping back.

She kicked off the ground. She dashed toward Amon. The ground beneath her feet shattered further.

"Shiit—"

In the blink of an eye, she was in front of Amon. Behind him was the river, so he threw his body to the right side.

Thud!

He fell on the ground, rolled a few tis, then instantly got up on his feet.

"Tch!" Amon clicked his tongue. He pulled out his sword from his storage ring.

BOOM!

"Ahhh!"

Scarlett didn’t even look winded. She rolled her shoulder once, flexed her fingers, and stepped forward.

Amon’s instincts scread. She vanished again.

Amon barely reacted in ti. He twisted his body and raised his sword.

BOOM!

Her fist collided with the flat of his blade again. The shockwave blasted outward, sending dust and loose pebbles flying. Amon was launched backward like a ragdoll, boots carving two long trenches in the dirt before he barely stabilized himself.

The vibration from that single punch traveled from the blade into Amon’s arms, up his shoulders, and straight to his spine. His fingers went numb for a split second. If he hadn’t reinforced himself with mana at the last instant, his wrists would have snapped.

"She’s not holding back at all!" he muttered.

Scarlett tilted her head slightly. "You told to bite you."

"That was clearly a joke! Also, this is not biting!"

She dashed again.

This ti Amon didn’t try to et her head-on.

He commanded his shadow.

The shadow beneath his feet rippled like liquid ink. It slithered across the ground toward the incoming Scarlett. Just as she closed the distance.

The shadow rose violently from the earth, twisting upward like a living serpent. It wrapped around both of her ankles mid-step.

The shadow was reinforced with his darkness. So the grasp was solid and strong.

She stopped abruptly. For a few seconds. Scarlett looked down.

Amon smirked. "Got you."
