ELLA.

"Theresa... is Lurgard in there?"

The voice ca again from outside the room, and instantly, my entire body froze.

My heart slamd wildly against my chest.

Oh no.

Without thinking twice, I tried to push Lurgard away from imdiately, swaying my body desperately to break free from his grip.

But instead of letting go...his smile only widened.

That shaless man looked completely entertained by my panic.

"Do you want to stay longer..." he whispered softly, his erald eyes glinting mischievously, "...or should I expose us like this?"

My breathing hitched instantly.

His fingers brushed slowly against my lips teasingly while he stared directly into my eyes like he already knew I was losing my mind.

"Lurgard..." I whispered warningly.

But he clearly wasn’t listening.

"Theresa... is he there?" Lawrence’s voice echoed again from outside. "Can I co in?"

I shut my eyes briefly.

Of course it was Lawrence.

Honestly, this morning was becoming a complete disaster.

If Lawrence entered now and found Lurgard pinning against the wall like this, those two brothers would definitely start fighting imdiately.

And judging from Lurgard’s current expression...he probably wouldn’t even mind.

But then again, telling him to leave would only make him think I actually cared whether he stayed or not.

And unfortunately...My traitorous wolf shalessly wanted him to remain exactly where he was.

I could practically feel Nyx rolling around happily inside .

Completely useless.

"You have three seconds," Lurgard whispered close to my ear.

The warmth of his breath against my skin made another shiver run through .

Then softly, he bit my ear again.

My knees nearly weakened instantly.

"One..." he started counting slowly.

My breathing beca uneven again.

"Two..." His hand tightened slightly around my waist while his lips brushed dangerously close to mine again.

And the worst part?

He looked completely serious.

"Theresa, I’m coming in now—" Lawrence’s sudden voice from outside made panic explode inside instantly.

"Don’t!" I blurted out imdiately, my voice ca out far too quickly, and far too breathlessly. "Lurgard isn’t here!"

The room suddenly beca silent for a brief second.

Then Lawrence spoke again from outside, sounding suspicious. "Why are you breathing like that?"

My eyes widened instantly.

"Are you okay?"

Before I could even think of a proper response, Lurgard suddenly grabbed my neck lightly, tilting my face toward him.

I nearly choked from surprise.

His eyes darkened with amusent while he stared at my flustered expression.

Honestly, he looked like he was enjoying every second of this.

"Y-yes..." I stamred quickly, trying to steady my breathing. "I...I am."

The silence outside lasted for a mont, then finally....

"Alright," Lawrence replied slowly, though he still sounded unconvinced. "I just ca to check up on you."

I nodded instinctively before realizing he couldn’t even see through the door.

anwhile, Lurgard leaned even closer, too close. His lips brushed lightly against the side of my face before he murmured softly into my ear...

"Good kitten."

My entire body heated instantly.

And the smug satisfaction in his voice only made want to both scream and hide at the sa ti.

I thought Lawrence wouldn’t, but I guess he actually bought my lie.

There was a long pause on the other side of the door.

Seconds stretched on painfully.

I stayed completely still, hardly daring to breathe, while Lurgard remained dangerously close to , his presence overwhelming every sense I had.

"Alright," Lawrence said slowly. "Get dressed. We’ll be leaving for the office soon."

My chest loosened imdiately.

Relief washed over in one quick wave.

Footsteps followed almost instantly after that, fading gradually down the corridor–retreating and getting further and further away.

Only when the sound finally disappeared completely did I let out a shaky breath I didn’t even realize I had been holding.

But just as I tried to relax completely, Lurgard moved again.

Before I could even process it, he pulled back into him and claid my lips once more, harder this ti and more intense like he had been waiting for the mont Lawrence left just to do exactly this.

My eyes widened in shock, and I instinctively shook my body violently to get him to pull away.

What is wrong with him?

This man behaves like he has no restraint at all.

My mind briefly flashed a thought...

Is he on sothing? Probably drugs?

Because there was no other explanation for the way he kept acting so boldly, so fearlessly, like nothing in the world could stop him.

After a mont, he pulled away from the kiss.

I was breathing heavily now, my chest rising and falling rapidly as I stared at him in disbelief.

But Lurgard only looked more satisfied, like my reaction amused him, kike he enjoyed watching lose control.

"You belong to , Theresa," he said firmly, his voice low and certain.

My brows furrowed instantly and before I could stop myself—I looked away and scoffed.

"I belong to no one," I replied imdiately, my tone sharp.

There was no hesitation in my voice, no doubt at all.

But instead of getting angry, Lurgard only chuckled softly, as if my words ant nothing to him.

As if he already had his own answer.

Slowly, he released my wrists, finally freeing my hands from above my head.

I flexed my fingers slightly, still trying to steady my breathing.

He stepped back just a little, straightening his posture.

"Freshen up, kitten," he said casually, as though nothing intense had just happened. "We still have a long day ahead."

Then he turned toward the door handle.

I was still trying to process everything when he paused again, just before leaving, he added without looking back...

"We’ll continue from where we stopped...in the office."

My eyes widened instantly.

And then, he blew a kiss over his shoulder and walked out like he hadn’t just turned my entire world upside down.

The door clicked shut behind him.

Silence filled the room.

And I just stood there, completely frozen, trying to understand one thing—

What exactly have I gotten myself into?

And worst of all, I was truly to stay in his office today!
