The call was from a landline number.
He answered it directly, "Hello, this is Koa Jackson."
"Is Mia with you?" Aurora Cooper called, getting straight to the point.
"..." Koa Jackson was montarily taken aback, and then answered, "Yes. She ca over yesterday afternoon, we’re having lunch?"
"Is that so?" Aurora Cooper’s calm and gentle voice showed little emotion, "Let talk to her."
"Please hold on."
Koa Jackson handed the phone to Mia.
Mia took it, pressed her lips, and said "Hello," sounding a bit nervous.
"Mia?"
"Mom."
"Child, why didn’t you answer my calls this morning?" Aurora Cooper asked.
"Oh. Yesterday we had dinner with so doctors from the hospital, had a drink, and I fell asleep right after I got back. My phone should be in my bag, didn’t hear it." Mia was relieved to hear no hint of bla in her voice.
Aurora Cooper patiently listened and then asked, "When are you coming back?"
"Is there anything up?" Mia asked.

She sighed, "Of course there’s sothing. Your dad’s flight arrives at six in the afternoon, there’s sothing to discuss."
"Oh," Mia nodded.
Aurora Cooper asked again, "By the way, do you have a pass?"
"..." Mia hesitated for a mont, "No."
"Okay then, got it, we’ll discuss everything when you get back in the afternoon."

Mia also hung up, lost in thought.
