It seems the big star loves to eat, Luo Chao thought as he looked at her graceful curves, surprisingly without an ounce of excess fat. He really wondered how this celebrity who loves food still maintained such a good figure.
"I'm going to take a shower," Luo Chao rolled his eyes. He was here to be a bodyguard, not a foodie.
Li Ruotong said, "Luo Chao, wait a mont, I haven't finished talking yet."
Having once been the top bodyguard of Zhongnanhai, now transford into a foodie, Luo Chao found it quite unbelievable. When he used to be a personal bodyguard for important people, he had to stay alert even during als, but Li Ruotong preferred to run to crowded places.
Luo Chao felt a bit troubled—
Under the dark night sky with howling wind outside, Luo Chao was already lying on the bed with his eyes closed, while Li Ruotong was on the bed next to him. Suddenly, she softly asked, "Luo Chao, are you asleep?"
"I'm asleep," Luo Chao responded without thinking.
"Hah," Li Ruotong burst into laughter and playfully said, "If you're asleep, how can you talk?"
Luo Chao rolled his eyes, "I'm sleepwalking," wondering what this girl was thinking, not sleeping at such an hour.
"You're so annoying!" Li Ruotong's face blushed, and she added, "Luo Chao, could you—"
"Could I what?" Luo Chao said "fearfully," "I'm not that kind of person!"
Just as Li Ruotong's pretty face turned bright red, Luo Chao added, "But when I get casual, I'm not human. Bring it on!"
"Pfft!" Li Ruotong's face was as red as a fla out of embarrassnt. Luo Chao was certainly thick-skinned. Despite his apparent lustful deanor, he never took advantage of her, far better than those hypocrites.
Li Ruotong whispered, "Luo Chao, I'd like to hear your story again."
Luo Chao was stunned for a mont, and then smiled, "My stories aren't just told at any ti. Go to sleep."
The past, like a tragic picture, was sothing Luo Chao was unwilling to recall. However, it was only in monts of "tenderness" that he would reveal it.
Li Ruotong bit her lip gently and murmured, "Goodnight then."
To this day, Li Ruotong rembered the scars crisscrossing Luo Chao's body and the heart-wrenching past. She could imagine how Luo Chao's comrade was bombed beyond recognition, and he tried to gather his comrade's remains and bones to piece together a complete corpse. What an agonizing state of mind that must have been. Thinking about that scene, Li Ruotong felt her heart wrench.
Li Ruotong wanted to know everything about Luo Chao because she didn't want to be like people from different worlds.
The next day, at Southeast City's most famous Hubu Alley, a lane filled with various snacks, Luo Chao and Li Ruotong were here and seated in a soup bun shop, waiting for the freshly stead soup buns.
Li Ruotong's agent, Fang Simin, didn't co along because with Luo Chao there, she felt relatively assured.
The place was teeming with people, and calling it a sea of people was no exaggeration. Li Ruotong and Luo Chao had arrived early and waited in line for half an hour before finding a spot to sit down. Eating a cage of buns seed such a challenge.
When two steaming baskets of soup buns were brought to their table by the waiter, Li Ruotong, like a child, imdiately picked up her chopsticks, clutched a soup bun, and took a bite. The broth inside imdiately splattered and nearly splashed onto her clothes.
Li Ruotong quickly slurped the broth and giggled, "These soup buns are so delicious; the broth even splashes out."
Luo Chao chuckled as he glanced at her, "Eat slowly!" With that, he also began to eat. However, at that mont, his gaze went across to a storefront opposite—a bun shop where a shabby, grimy little boy was stealthily reaching his dirty hand into a big steaming basket, trying to steal a bun!
However, as soon as the boy reached in, the bun shop owner imdiately noticed. He grabbed the boy's little hand and kicked him away, "You filthy beggar, daring to steal my buns, I'll beat you to death!"
The bun shop owner kicked the boy to the ground and rushed over to kick him again. But before he could kick again, his hand was caught by soone.
"Spare him if you can, why be so ruthless? He's just a child," at this mont, Luo Chao had caught the owner's hand, frowning slightly as he spoke.
The little boy was already malnourished and couldn't withstand the strength of an adult's kick.
Li Ruotong also ca over, wearing sunglasses and a mask, which she took off when eating buns but had put back on, making it hard for anyone to recognize her.
"None of your business," surprisingly soone dared to ddle, the shop owner enraged, swung a punch, which was tightly caught in a palm. Luo Chao gently exerted force, watching the shop owner's face distort in pain, shaking, "Ah, it hurts, it hurts so much!"
"Let go," the bun shop owner felt his fist was about to be crushed and quickly pleaded loudly.
Luo Chao released his grip, and the bun shop owner, as if receiving amnesty, was a bit frightened. This young man was too ruthless, such great strength.
Li Ruotong was also displeased, "Owner, the child only stole a bun, do you need to be so harsh?"
The bun shop owner bowed his head, feeling wronged, "You don't understand, he ca to steal yesterday too, but he got away. Now that I caught him today, how could I not be mad?"
Luo Chao helped the boy up. The boy seed to be about 12 years old, his face streaked with tears, and asked, "Hey kid, why did you steal?"
"My mom is sick and hasn't eaten for days," the boy cried.
"Where is your dad?" Li Ruotong asked.
"My dad, he died of illness already. Now it's just and my mom," the boy wiped his tears, looking pitiful.
Li Ruotong felt a wave of compassion, "Owner, I'll buy 10 buns."
Everyone watched them, realizing a few more kind-hearted people in this world would make it better. Li Ruotong bought 10 buns and gave them to the boy. The boy gratefully said thank you, but as he was about to leave, he winced in pain.
Luo Chao squatted down and checked his leg, "It's not broken, just a bit bruised," and said to the boy, "I'll carry you back."
"But I'm very dirty," the boy blushed.
Luo Chao chuckled, "It's fine, hop on."
The boy clung onto him, and everyone who saw this scene was moved, this kind-hearted young man they witnessed. Yet who knew, Luo Chao was actually a special ops soldier with hands stained with endless blood.
"How about you wait here," as Luo Chao was carrying the boy, he said to Li Ruotong, who sweetly smiled, "I have nothing special today, I'll go with you."
