Caryn Zachmann’s heart skipped a beat.
The sa as theirs?
Indeed.
Chloe Bailey also ntioned on the phone: "The piece they chose happens to be the sa as ours. No idea if it’s intentional."
Then she laughed smugly and continued, "If it’s deliberate, that’s just perfect. For our opening ceremony, we have your brother onstage with us, and it’ll definitely make our performance the center of attention. If they insist on clashing, well then, it’ll just embarrass them big ti!"
"Do you know who will be playing that piece?" Caryn wasn’t interested in the gossip, her heart already piecing things together.
Chloe responded nonchalantly: "Yeah, I know. It seems to be a freshman from their departnt this year, the one who did exceptionally well in the college entrance exam. What was their na again..."
"Nathalie Quinlan." Caryn’s voice turned icy cold, her beautiful eyes thoroughly chilled.
She figured as much. Audrick Zachmann wouldn’t have co back to confront her out of nowhere like that unless there was a reason.
Haha, so Nathalie Quinlan also chose Lighten Chaser’s piece, coincidentally the sa one — ’Nirvana.’
Audrick must have noticed their song choice overlapped and wanted to defend Nathalie, which is why he ca back asking her to change hers!
Caryn’s lips curled coldly, devoid of any warmth, her expression a piercing blend of indifference and hostility.
On the other end, Chloe Bailey’s sudden realization confird that it was Nathalie who would be playing the piece. Caryn’s voice beca even colder: "Chloe, do a favor..."
Chloe didn’t think much of it and answered straightforwardly, "Senior, if you need sothing, just say it. There’s no need to call it a favor."
Caryn explained her plan.
Chloe agreed without hesitation.
Once the call ended,
Caryn lowered her gaze to the phone in her hand, curling her lips into a frosty sneer as her eyes filled with disdain.
Audrick had told her to pick a different song or regret it forever.
Ha!
If she hadn’t learned that Nathalie had chosen the sa song, she might have considered swapping it. But now, she was looking forward to a head-on clash to see who would end up regretting it — her or Nathalie!

The next day.
Amadeus Yancey’s 5 a.m. airplane touched down at the Capital Airport.
By 5:30 a.m., he had reached his apartnt.
When he got ho, he didn’t wake Nathalie Quinlan. Instead, he went to his own room, took a refreshing cold shower, and slept peacefully in his own space.
He woke up well-rested around 2 p.m.
Feeling refreshed, Amadeus got up, threw on so casual ho wear, and stepped out of his room.
In the living room.
Alfred Garland had already arrived. Seeing him co down the stairs, Alfred imdiately put down whatever he was working on and greeted him: "Boss Amadeus, you’re up. Want sothing to eat?"
"Hmm, just make sothing simple."
Amadeus lowered his gaze and noticed that Sadam Vinson was also there, sitting below and enthusiastically recounting the events of an auction to Nathalie Quinlan.
When Sadam reached the exciting parts, his whole deanor buzzed with exhilaration.
"Oh, Nathalie! It’s a sha you didn’t go. Seriously, if you had gone, I guarantee you would’ve marveled at that auction!"
Nathalie stifled a yawn, visibly unenthused, occasionally furrowing her brows — clearly annoyed by Sadam’s exuberance.
Sadam, oblivious, smacked his lips and said, "Did you know there’s a Mining Tycoon in the Illegal Zone?"
At that, the girl finally showed a faint spark of interest, raising her gaze to give him a glance, lazily leaning against the armrest of the sofa: "Nope."
