Audrick Zachmann leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes to rest for a mont, and then opened them again, staring at the ssage on his phone, unable to say a word for a long ti.

[NQ: The Chinese dicine departnt has to participate in the opening ceremony. What’s wrong?]

He looked at the reply Nathalie Quinlan sent on his phone, speechless for a good while.

His thin lips pressed tightly together, he sent yet another ssage to Caryn Zachmann—[You still have ti to regret this now.]

*

After Audrick left, Caryn Zachmann lost her appetite for food. She hurriedly scooped up a few bites, then said to Leonardy Zachmann and Celine Tucker, "Dad, Mom, I’m full. I’ll go upstairs first."

Celine Tucker noticed her bowl was barely touched and worriedly called after her, "Caryn, how can you only eat this little?"

"I’m full. Take your ti eating." Caryn’s face turned pale as she pinched her knuckles, forcing a smile and pretending everything was fine.

Without waiting for Celine to persuade her further, she headed back to her bedroom, burdened by heavy thoughts.

Her room was on the second floor, aside from the master bedroom shared by Leonardy and Celine, the best room in the villa.

Great lighting.

Spacious.

And the entire room was decorated in European style, tailored to Caryn’s tastes.

In addition to the large Simmons soft bed, there was a walk-in closet dedicated to storing her clothes. The closet overflowed with all kinds of branded shoes and bags—more clothes than she could ever wear...

Caryn closed the door casually, sat down in distress on the stool at her vanity, then opened a drawer to take out a face mask.

As soon as she placed her phone on the desk, it emitted a soft "ding."

She set the face mask back into the drawer, stood up, picked up her phone, and unlocked it to check.

It was a ssage from Audrick.

Her face was still far from looking well.

Yet upon seeing the ssage from Audrick, her mood slightly eased. Her lowered lashes revealed a trace of arrogant indifference as her fingertip tapped on the screen.

She saw the content of the ssage.

Her expression abruptly changed, as if she’d been slapped in the face, her face turning ghastly!

[You still have ti to regret this now.]

At first, Caryn thought she must have misread it. She reread the ssage Audrick sent, but it was the sa line, full of a warning.

She parsed each word carefully, almost enraged enough to explode, and paradoxically, the more furious she beca, the more she laughed.

Staring at the phone, she couldn’t understand what kind of madness had driven Audrick to send her such a ssage.

She still had ti to regret it?

Why would she regret it, and what could possibly make her regret it?

Caryn’s anger escalated to a headache; she tossed her phone back onto the vanity, supporting herself with one hand against her temples, struggling to compose her emotions.

Yet the image of Audrick storming back earlier to argue with her coupled with the ssage kept replaying in her mind, and her face refused to recover its composure.

No one knows how much ti passed.

The phone she had thrown onto the vanity began to ring—a phone call.

Her mood was sour; initially, she didn’t intend to answer the call. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of the caller ID—it was Chloe Bailey, the junior from the Clinical dicine departnt.

She stood up, forcibly suppressing her irritation, grabbing the phone and heading toward the balcony.

"Hello?"

Caryn was clearly lacking enthusiasm; even her tone wasn’t much better: "What do you want?"

Over the phone, Chloe didn’t seem to pick up on her dismal mood and spoke with full excitent: "Caryn, do you know what piece the Chinese dicine departnt has chosen for the opening ceremony this ti?"

"?"

Just hearing the words "Chinese dicine departnt" annoyed Caryn!

She frowned, holding no regard for the departnt, and patiently asked, "What piece?"
