After making several phone calls, Mr. Gordon was at his wit’s end and collapsed helplessly onto the sofa in the living room.
Next to him, Mrs. Gordon was crying like a tear-soaked ss, her eyes swollen red beyond recognition.
In the living room, only the faint sound of Mrs. Gordon’s sniffles could be heard, one after another, driving Mr. Gordon into a restless frenzy. He suddenly stood up from the sofa. Frowning, he asked her in a deep voice, "What did Caryn Zachmann say when she called you about Mateo’s situation? Did she ntion why Amadeus wanted to take Mateo away?"
"I..." Mrs. Gordon was still crying, her eyes swollen from the tears, her face buried in her hands as though she had no strength left to speak.
She had no idea how her son got involved in such trouble!
"Alright, stop crying already! Is crying useful? At a ti like this, you’re still weeping here."
"If crying were useful, I’d join you!" Mr. Gordon’s temple throbbed, his tone irritable after saying this, then he raised his hand to press his temple and softly urged her, "Think carefully about what Caryn said during the phone call. Did she ntion why Amadeus wanted to take Mateo? I just called everyone in the Circle, and nobody has heard anything. Think once more."
Mrs. Gordon imdiately shook her head, confidently saying, "No, Ms. Zachmann didn’t say anything. She only told that Amadeus had asked to speak with Mateo, but she didn’t say what Amadeus wanted to discuss with Mateo."
Hearing this, Mr. Gordon’s small but sharp eyes narrowed fiercely, and he said coldly, "Heh, she’s definitely involved in this sohow!"
"How could that be?" Mrs. Gordon looked at him with confusion. How did this get connected to Ms. Zachmann again? Wasn’t she kind enough to inform them?

Often he would chatter endlessly about Caryn’s achievents, how Caryn got into Tsinghua University, how Caryn’s teacher was the renowned neurosurgeon Adelle Wafford, how Caryn passed the highest level in piano proficiency...
These were all things Mr. Gordon was well aware of.
He knew what kind of person his son was, and he knew that a woman like Caryn would never be interested in soone like Mateo, so he let it be, allowing his son to be infatuated from afar.
He figured it simply: Mateo was young and impulsive, and he would understand with maturity that there was no possibility with Caryn Zachmann.
Who knew... an incident would occur!
Mr. Gordon, who had fought his way to his current position, was not soone to be trifled with. Suppressing the anger in his heart, he glared at Mrs. Gordon, who only knew how to cry.
"I’ll call Leonardy Zachmann. They have to provide a solution; otherwise, if anything happens to my son, I won’t let it end with their family!"
Mr. Gordon’s heart was hard, and he did not finish the ensuing threat.
