"Is it her?" Zed Moore hesitated for a mont and glanced around again, indeed seeing a group of elders dressed as professors nearby.

One of them was Master Cadmus.

His furrowed brows relaxed as he stopped paying attention to Nathalie Quinlan and waited for the girl to pass by. Then, he discreetly took out a miniature phone and snapped a photo of the man not far away, sending it to the group.

[Zed Moore: I saw Torre. He’s at Paradise Hotel for the party, very cautious, and has brought quite a few people with him.]

[Zed Moore: Photo jdp]

He looked down, and soon soone replied in the group.

[Y: You don’t need to do anything, just keep an eye on him. See whom he engages with and note those people down.]

[Zed Moore: OK, I got it!]

It’s not great to keep using your phone at a party; it’s easy to get noticed.

Zed Moore didn’t keep his head down, sending ssages continuously.

After sending the photo he just took, he knew what he should and shouldn’t do next, so he stopped using his phone.

However, when he caught a glimpse of a girl with Master Cadmus from the corner of his eye, Zed Moore hesitated again, wondering if he should tell Amadeus and the team that Master Cadmus and the team mbers were also at the party...

Before he could hesitate for long, the lights of the party dimd, and it was too late for him to take another photo as his attention was drawn to the auction stage rising in the middle.

*

"The auction has started."

After the party lights went down, Shawn Norton casually started talking to the girl.

The scene was dimly lit, with all the lights focusing on the central auction stage, drawing everyone’s attention there.

Nathalie Quinlan lifted her duckbill cap a bit, her gaze like a hawk’s fixed on the central auction stage.

Quickly, an auctioneer went up, followed by a very high-tech robot presenting the first auction item.

A rare herb.

The people below placed sparse bids, showing little interest in such a common auction item.

Jackson Wafford, however, was quite interested. He waited until the bidding was near the end and then called out a bid, "Number 015, 680,000."

Nathalie Quinlan noticed from the start that each invitation letter had a number on it.

At that ti, she wasn’t clear on the aning of those numbers.

It was only during Jackson Wafford’s participation in the auction bidding that she realized the numbers’ purpose, which was likely a way for the organizer to differentiate the guests’ identities.

The first auctioned herb fell into the category of Traditional Chinese dicine.

Though precious, many people didn’t believe in Chinese dicine, naturally disbelieving in the dicines it revered, thinking them to be re herbal plants.

Jackson Wafford’s offered price was not low.

As soon as he bid 680,000, the few people who had placed sparse bids earlier fell silent, evidently thinking it wasn’t worthwhile to spend tens of thousands on a piece of Traditional Chinese dicine.

Nathalie Quinlan watched as the auctioneer on stage began to raise the hamr, preparing to announce the auction’s success.

Just then, an unpleasant voice rang out.

"Number 001, 700,000."

The voice was low and hoarse, inherently unpleasant to hear, instinctively evoking a sense of danger.

Jackson Wafford frowned slightly.

The number here is associated with the guest’s identity; Number 001’s identity was certainly not simple.

He hesitated briefly, and in the blink of an eye, the auction had already concluded.

The Flesh Ganoderma he had set his eyes on was claid by the other party.

Though Jackson Wafford felt a bit regretful, he didn’t think too much of it, assuming it was just an unfortunate incident.
