Amadeus Yancey had never been clear about what kind of person Nathalie Quinlan’s biological mother was, or what kind of favor she owed to the Yancey family that had led them to arrange such a childhood engagent when he was very young.
He had just thought to ask.
Suddenly he heard Alfred Garland up ahead saying, "Amadeus, is Ms. Quinlan being blocked by soone?"
"Why does that person look so familiar? Mr. Fisher?" Alfred Garland spoke in surprise, "Doesn’t he have a girlfriend? Why is he blocking Ms. Quinlan? Did they break up?"
Amadeus Yancey’s attention had been on the phone call, but hearing Alfred muttering to himself, his deep eyes stirred with ripples, he pressed the car window glass down, and turned his head to look towards the school entrance.
He indeed saw Zayn Fisher blocking the entrance.
From this angle, the tall and handso boy was talking to a girl with a gentle and focused expression.
From afar, they looked like a boyfriend and girlfriend.
A vortex seed to hide in Amadeus Yancey’s deepening eyes as he said softly to the person on the phone, "I’ve got an ergency to deal with, I’ll call you back later."
With those words, he hung up the phone without hesitation.
He opened the door, stood up, and said to Alfred, "I’m going to take a look."
Alfred watched him hang up Mr. Yancey’s phone with concise words and head toward Nathalie’s direction. He almost blurted out a reminder—’Amadeus, Ms. Quinlan doesn’t seem to be your girlfriend yet’!
Is it really okay for you to go over there all high and mighty like that?
Unfortunately, all he saw was Amadeus’s retreating figure, and before he could advise, Amadeus had already walked far away.

Nathalie Quinlan looked at the workbook handed to her, arched an eyebrow with a playful expression, "What is this?"
Zayn Fisher felt she was feigning ignorance, but still patiently began to explain, "It’s the practice workbook I’ve done."
Of course, Nathalie knew it was a practice workbook, her curiosity lay elsewhere, "I’m asking why you’re giving your used practice workbook?"
Were they that familiar?

Zayn Fisher thought she didn’t grasp his intent and spoke with a touch of arrogance, "I heard you want to get into Tsinghua University?"
"So what?"

The thing Zayn Fisher could least tolerate was her constant air of indifference and composure. Even when they were together, she was the sa.
Always serene, always unflustered, as if the biggest issues in the world were nothing when they ca before her!
Sure, it was good for a girl to be independent and self-reliant.
But if his girlfriend was too independent, as a boy, he couldn’t find a balance because it seed like Nathalie never needed his help.
"With your grades, getting into Tsinghua University is simply impossible."
"?" Nathalie’s eyebrows shifted subtly, her raven-black lashes drawn together as she looked at him with bottomlessly dark eyes, not understanding where he had derived his conclusion.
Zayn Fisher took a deep breath and said in what he thought was his most sincere tone, "Your grades have always been behind Ghania’s, and I don’t understand how you got into Class A or how you ca first in the last diagnostic test, but there’s no way you can pass Tsinghua’s independent admissions!"
Jhovany Sullivan and the others felt a tingling irritation.
Apart from Freddy Cagwin, they all thought it was too risky for Nathalie to try for Tsinghua University’s independent admissions and that it was very likely she wouldn’t get in!
But no matter what they thought internally, everyone planned to encourage Nathalie before parting ways, to cheer her up and not put too much pressure on her, whether she got in or not.
Unlike Zayn Fisher, who just arrived and started saying Nathalie wouldn’t get in, that her grades were poor.
