Nathalie Quinlan returned to her room, took a bath, changed into a fresh set of clothes, and walked out of the bathroom. She casually draped a dry towel over her hair, ignoring the mischievous strands that dripped water down her temples. With determined brows, she walked to her desk, pulled out the chair, and effortlessly flipped open her laptop, pressing the power button.
Her laptop was very thin, pure black, with no extra decorations on the screen, and the keyboard appeared quite worn, with so of the Pinyin characters rubbed off to the point of being illegible.
But it started up extrely fast.
While most computers, no matter how fast, would take around five to six seconds to boot up, her laptop only took two seconds and did not stall at all.
Nathalie, wearing a black hoodie and with bare legs, sat cross-legged on the chair, her face casual and slightly squinting at the laptop, her hand resting on the nearby mouse. She navigated through a clutter of desktop icons to find a chatting software and logged into her account.
