Nathalie Quinlan arrived from McKinney and automatically assud the aunt ntioned by Nathalie to be so tourist visiting Beijing. With that in mind, Sadam Vinson picked up his phone, got up, and said, "I’ll go out to pick her up. When is your aunt coming?"
Nathalie Quinlan didn’t know much about Rivendell and wasn’t sure about the situation there. She also didn’t know if Candice Yancey was a mber there. With hands clasped and eyebrows furrowed, she said, "She ntioned she would be here soon, I’m not sure exactly how long it will take."
"Why don’t you give her a call to check?" Sadam Vinson wasn’t bothered by the trouble, but he was concerned it would be awkward for Nathalie’s aunt to be stopped outside the club.
"..."
Nathalie Quinlan held her phone, also pondering whether to call Candice Yancey to ask.
As they were talking,
there was a knocking on the door at the entrance.
Soone went to open the door.
Sadam Vinson also turned to look.
When he saw the arrival, he was stunned for a mont and called out her na, "Mrs. Yancey?"
In Beijing, Candice Yancey held a distinguished status. If Zeus Tanzil and his circle were considered the second-generation elite, and Amadeus Yancey and Sadam Vinson’s circle were the younger generation’s elite, then Candice Yancey definitely counted as a prominent figure among the middle generation.
Even the normally unruly Sadam Vinson didn’t dare to act up in front of her, and respectfully stood up and said, "Mrs. Yancey, what brings you here?"
"Looking for Amadeus?" He thought Candice Yancey was here because she heard they were hanging out and ca looking for Amadeus Yancey. Without thinking, he explained, "Amadeus isn’t in Beijing."
The others all knew of Candice Yancey’s identity and sat up straight, like little chicks, with their necks retracted, looking up at the person who entered.
"Why would I be looking for him?" Candice Yancey said nonchalantly, scanning the private room before spotting the girl in the corner. She strode in energetically toward Nathalie Quinlan, a springti smile blossoming on her face, and said, "I’m here to see Nathalie."
With that, she affectionately greeted the girl nestling there, "I told the person I was negotiating with that we could et another ti. You haven’t been waiting too long, have you?"
Nathalie Quinlan lifted her eyes, shook her head, and said naturally, "Not at all."
"Good." Candice Yancey seed really fond of her, instantly showing a content smile, and promptly sat down next to her, "By the way, Amadeus only ntioned you were coming to Beijing, but he didn’t tell how many days you’d be staying. You’re not in a rush to leave, are you?"
Nathalie Quinlan thought for a mont, looked at her apologetically, and spoke slowly, "I’ve mostly dealt with my matters, and I might go back the day after tomorrow."
Candice Yancey had also been at the Wilmar Family ho that day and knew why Nathalie had specifically co to Beijing. While she was disappointed, she didn’t say anything. She said, "Then do you have any plans for tomorrow? If not, I can take you around to so sights near Beijing."
Nathalie Quinlan turned her head, her gaze first swept over Sadam Vinson who had also ntioned taking her sightseeing, before settling on the eagerly expectant face of Candice Yancey. She raised her hand to her forehead, feeling rather embarrassed to decline, "Mrs. Yancey, I have so things to do tomorrow; I’ve already made an appointnt with soone."
Last ti on her birthday, Shawn Norton had rushed back from abroad specially for her. She couldn’t just leave him hanging tomorrow; that would be too unkind!
Candice Yancey was disappointed, of course, but she didn’t bla Nathalie. Instead, she smiled and reassuringly patted the girl’s shoulder, generously saying, "No worries, I’ll go by your schedule. If you have ti we can go out, if not, we’ll do it another ti. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Surely you don’t have any plans for tonight, do you?"
Nathalie Quinlan had originally planned to hang out for another half-hour and then excuse herself to Sadam Vinson before heading back to the hotel to catch up on sleep. Now, she could only change her plans. Her dark eyes, like dots of ink, t Candice Yancey’s warm eyes and she shook her head, "I have no plans."
