Phoebe Hoffman’s lips turned down, and a flash of jealousy passed through her eyes as she disdainfully said, "Just a high school student! A girl, no less, boasting big but with little real talent, quite arrogant indeed."
"..."
Several people from The Ninth Institute who hadn’t seen Nathalie Quinlan were stunned, not expecting her to speak this way.
Wallace Radcliff couldn’t listen anymore and frowned at her, speaking sternly, "Mr. Hoffman, was there really a need to say that?"
What on earth was going through Phoebe Hoffman’s mind?
That day in Amadeus’s hospital room, when she had ntioned Ms. Quinlan, Amadeus didn’t have an outburst then, but once back, he made her copy The Ninth Institute’s rules a hundred tis.
With The Ninth Institute’s rules spanning two pages, a hundred tis ant two hundred pages; Phoebe Hoffman had been copying this for the past few days.
Besides, the project Phoebe Hoffman was originally following had been transferred to soone else by Amadeus, essentially a form of indirect punishnt for her.
It had been a tough punishnt, and here she was, at it again.
Wallace Radcliff couldn’t understand, couldn’t she see that Amadeus had special regards for Miss Quinlan, treating her like the apple of his eye!
And now, with Ms. Quinlan coming, Amadeus even made a phone call to Mr. Bonette, asking him to co in person to pick her up.
With such pomp and circumstance, The Ninth Institute had never seen anything like this before!
He just didn’t understand why Phoebe Hoffman insisted on being so stubborn, like banging her head against the south wall!
Brian Bonette also glanced warningly in her direction, mild and not particularly forceful.
Phoebe Hoffman bit her lip uncomfortably, tilting her chin up, her expression proud, "I haven’t said anything wrong! Didn’t she herself claim she could solve the programming issue in two days? Well, it’s been three days now, has she done it?"
"If she couldn’t do it, then why brag!"
On this matter, Wallace Radcliff couldn’t speak in Nathalie’s defense either, only furrowing his brow, speaking quickly, "Alfred Garland ntioned that Ms. Quinlan has been busy these past few days, busy preparing review materials for her classmates and probably too busy to find the ti..."
"Heh." Phoebe Hoffman let out a mocking laugh, not responding, but her face clearly showed disbelief.
Indeed, she didn’t believe Nathalie Quinlan could crack that source code problem, sothing she herself couldn’t solve in three months; how could a high school student manage it?
If Wallace Radcliff wanted to speak on Nathalie’s behalf, she didn’t care; Nathalie’s airplane was about to land, and Phoebe was waiting to see Wallace get a face slap!
As the two argued like this, a few observant people from The Ninth Institute saw their chance, and Mario Cagwin deftly changed the topic, talking about the latest gossip he had heard.
"Oh, speaking of doctors, I just rembered sothing."
"Mr. Wilmar was sick a while back, wasn’t he? They consulted many doctors, both dostic and foreign, to no avail. The situation was very much like Master Cadmus’s, and even Adelle Wafford couldn’t help. Everyone thought Mr. Wilmar was a goner that day, but then Mr. Wilmar’s son brought in a mysterious healer. Without even performing surgery, Mr. Wilmar woke up, and it’s said that Chinese dicine and acupuncture were used..."
"That impressive? What kind of mythical healer is this?" soone asked.
Wallace Radcliff was also interested, no longer having the energy to argue with Phoebe Hoffman, "Is there any information on this healer?"
"No," Mario Cagwin shook his head, "Haven’t heard of him before; they say he’s mysterious, with information about this doctor available on the Black Market. But over there, they always keep things tightly sealed; without their diation, it’s tough to find the person. After that day, the Wilmar Family didn’t release much information about this healer. I vaguely heard soone ntion the healer seed to co from McKinney."
McKinney again?
By now, the re ntion of McKinney irritated Phoebe Hoffman, but upon hearing this, her eyes flashed, and a contemplative expression crossed her face.
"If only we could find this healer..."
