Chapter 938: Siege of Terra Damnum.
Maxwell and Alan turned to look at the door, at Richard, who was sweating bollocks. The man hurriedly turned to Alan and said.
“It’s an emergency; the Association has put out an emergency summons. Go wake up Kazikato and meet me in the front in five minutes! Now!”
Alan stood up and asked.
“Sure, but why?”
Richard was already out the door and answered as he ran down the hall.
“It’s an attack on Terra Damnum.”
‘Terra Damnum?’
Alan repeated in his mind, as Richard’s figure vanished from sight. Alan recalled his memories of training on that damn continent. It wasn’t a refreshing memory, where his master had beaten the living daylights out of him. The air was toxic, unpleasant, and even the ground had no substance.
It was a ruined land; there was practically nothing there besides a few towns where demons resided, and the headquarters of the Obelisk. Was the Association planning to attack the Obelisk right now?
He hadn’t expected it to be so sudden, especially for something as important as this… Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to have a lengthy discussion about this?
“You should get going, you know?”
Maxwell reminded him. He calmly drank his coffee as Alan grumbled and opened a portal to Kazikato’s room, waking the poor guy with a smack to his head. He wondered why they needed the lazy dragon, but dismissed it soon enough.
After opening another portal, Alan calmly waited for Richard at the front of the building. Kazikato had fallen asleep on the pavement once again. Alan sighed, counting each second as he impatiently waited for Richard to arrive.

Terra Damnum, formerly Australia, is the first ever country or piece of human territory lost to the Abyss, and ever since then, it has remained that way. Humanity has never reclaimed Australia, not even once.
Of course, why reclaim such a broken land? Australia fell due to the greed of its people during the era of dungeons. They refused international aid, intending to reap the benefits for themselves, and were destroyed in the process.
Millions died in Australia alone when the Abyss first made contact with Earth; the total amount of casualties worldwide easily surpassed a billion. Coastal countries with subpar militaries were simply destroyed, and even major powers were brought to their knees.
After the demons of the Abyss left, humanity had some time to reorganize itself and prepare. It first started with building itself back up, reclaiming what was lost, except for Australia.
All signs of life have been mutated beyond repair. Every natural resource that the continent once had is gone. The Flora has all died out, and the Fauna has mutated into terrifying demonic beasts due to the influence of Chaos. Terra Damnum is ruined land.
Even if they reclaim it, it serves no purpose. Humanity would need a seed of the Tree of Life to nourish that land. Unfortunately for them, the Trees of Life are sacred to the Elves, second only to the World Tree itself. Getting their hands on one is simply a pipe dream.
Terra Damnum is still home to some, mostly demonic humans and demons. It is home to one settlement at the heart of the continent, where the portal first appeared, as well as the headquarters of the Obelisk. Other than that, it is simply home to hundreds of thousands of demonic beasts.
Once, it flourished. But now? It is merely a stain on Planet Earth, a symbol of it’s defeat, a prelude of what will happen to them if they lose to the Demons. It is a stain on humanity itself, its greatest defeat.
And to get rid of this stain, to crush it before it can bee a base for the demonic once again, three thousand warships sail towards it, in the dead of the night.
The greatest fleet to ever exist in Humanity’s history, a total of sixty-seven aircraft carriers, ten of which are of the modern age, capable of flight as well as underwater voyage. Three hundred submarines, each carrying nuclear warheads. The rest were filled with destroyers, cruisers, and other naval warships.
The greatest naval force to ever exist in Humanity’s history sails towards Terra Damnum in the silence of the night, manned by none other than the cream of the crop. Furthermore, every A and S-rank individual and above voyages with them.
The best of the best Earth has to offer sails in the dead of the night towards Terra Damnum. High in the Skies, the Mothership of the Human fleet watches in silence, tearing through the sky at a breakneck speed.
Two dragons flank it at each side, one of lustrous, glorious red scales that shine like the sun and emit fiery tongues of deadly fire. On the other hand, a dragon made of shadows and bones, one that gives everyone looking at it a frightening chill, reminding them of the fear of Death.
In the depths of the ocean, at the forefront of the underwater vessels, a Frost Dragon takes the lead. His scales, although white as snow and as rugged as the mountain peaks, change color and blend in with the deep sea. His speed is unmatched by any vessel on Earth, both in the air and in the deep sea, and must land really be questioned?
He is capable of teleportation… after all.
The Dragon enjoys the seas, relishing the feeling of a cold swim after so long. Of course, nothing on Earth can ever pare to Lanekia. But he enjoys it nonetheless.
But this exhilarating feeling does not last long, for the Dragon recoils as the waters turn muddy, dark, and disgusting.
“…”
The Dragon of Fire feels the sorrow of the ruined Sky, The Dragon of Death feels the sorrow of the ruined land, The Dragon of Ice feels the sorrow of the dirtied sea. Each of them recoil as the mana of Terra Damnum washes over them.
Everyone recoils as the disgusting feeling hits them all at once, the sign that they had entered the area of Terra Damnum.
Only to set it right.
