Gu Yuan replied, "That day will co, and I’ll save a bit more for you then."
"Alright." Tutu was overjoyed.
Gu Yuan rembered when she left Ancient Water Village, she had told the village chief she’d co back for matchmaking.
Tutu was probably asking because she heard it from the village chief.
She waved to the kids and drove towards the guest house.
Gu Yuan hadn’t told anyone about her return, and she hadn’t inford the guest house either.
After she left Ancient Water Village, the person who took over managing the guest house was personally selected by Gu Yuan and had t her before.
Outside the guest house were two off-road vehicles, presumably belonging to guests. Gu Yuan parked and walked inside. Nothing here had changed, and the new manager, Yao Tao, had been managing it well.

The two plump tabby cats imdiately recognized Gu Yuan and ran towards her with their tails high. Gu Yuan bent down to pet them, and Yao Tao, hearing the noise, thought a new guest was bullying the cats and hurried out.
Seeing Gu Yuan, Yao Tao didn’t recognize her at first. After all, she’d only t her boss once, so she wasn’t very sure.
Plus, the newcor was wearing sunglasses, which made it hard to recognize.
Yao Tao tentatively asked, "Staying? Alone?"
With her sunglasses on, Gu Yuan smiled and replied, "Staying, just ."
Upon hearing that she was there to stay, Yao Tao wiped her wet hands on her apron and went over to a designated counter: "Register here, please show your ID, and what type of room would you like?"
Gu Yuan walked over to the counter and replied, "A room facing south, with indoor plants, no TV, the largest space, all bamboo furniture, a custom-made bed, the bedding can be casual."
For every line Yao Tao heard, her eyebrows raised higher and higher. By the end, she was stunned.
After a mont she said, "We do have a room like that, but it’s not for guests."
Gu Yuan asked, "Why not?"
Yao Tao said, "That’s our owner’s room."
Gu Yuan responded, "Oh." Then she asked Yao Tao, "I rember your boss saying if we’re fully booked and soone still wants to stay, they can use that room."
Yao Tao shook her head, firmly, "No, that’s not allowed."
Gu Yuan looked puzzled.
Yao Tao explained, "Did you co here after seeing the show? Before the show aired, we only had a few people each month, with lots of empty rooms. After the show, we’ve had guests almost all the ti, sotis being fully booked throughout the week. Even then, the owner’s room was never given to anyone, so I’m really sorry."
After saying that, Yao Tao felt she might have said too much and sensed sothing wasn’t quite right.
She thought about it and suddenly realized what was wrong.
Yao Tao took half a step back in surprise: "Wait, no one ever said the owner’s room isn’t rented out, no one knew or would ask. How do you know?"
After asking, Yao Tao noticed the tabby cats at Gu Yuan’s feet, affectionately rubbing against her ankles and wing non-stop.
Unlike pet cats, tabby cats tend to be shy.
Whenever guests arrived, the tabby cats would retreat to the neighbor’s. Occasionally, they might ow at soone they liked, but would never allow themselves to be petted easily.
But now, these two plump tabbies were eagerly pleasing this new guest, acting very intimately.
Yao Tao moved closer to examine Gu Yuan and saw her take off her sunglasses. Upon seeing the glamorous face behind the sunglasses, Yao Tao gasped and shouted:
"It’s the owner!!"
Gu Yuan put away her sunglasses and replied, "Just ca to take a look."
Then she pulled out a gift box from her bag and handed it to Yao Tao: "A New Year’s gift, hope you like it."
Surprised and delighted, Yao Tao took the gift box, but felt unworthy of receiving a New Year’s gift from the owner, and was about to return it, but then she heard Gu Yuan say, "You’ve worked hard."
"Not hard at all!!" Yao Tao exclaid loudly, "Not hard at all. I love it here. Since coming here, I feel like my life has a purpose. Thank you for the gift, boss."
"You’re welco." Gu Yuan chuckled, "Initially, I was worried you wouldn’t get used to life in the countryside."
"I’m used to it. I completely adapted by the third day here." Yao Tao couldn’t contain her excitent and asked, "Did you co back specifically for New Year’s?"
"Yes." Gu Yuan replied.
