"Why is this bitch here?"

"You just thought, Why is this bitch here, didn’t you?" she said, her lips curling into a faint, knowing smile as her gaze settled on like she had already read my thoughts from the start.

Her golden eyes locked onto mine, sharp and glinting under the light, and that alone sent a slow, uncomfortable shiver crawling down my spine.

It wasn’t just intimidation.

It felt like being seen through, like every layer I had was peeled back without her even trying.

It was only natural to react that way.

Witches weren’t exactly rare.

People threw the word around casually, but the real aning carried weight.

A witch was soone who had mastered dark magic, or at least ca close to it.

That kind of magic wasn’t sothing you picked up in a few months of practice or so half-assed training session. It was difficult, painfully so, and just as dangerous as it was powerful.

Anyone who tried to learn it without the proper resolve usually ended up broken, or worse.

That was the reason it was never taught in academies. Not even as an advanced subject. It simply didn’t exist in any official curriculum. The risks were too high, and the consequences were too unpredictable.

Light magic, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. It was structured, controlled, and accepted. The church even taught it openly to those who wanted to walk the path of a priest. Healing, purification, and protection. Safe, clean, and sothing society could comfortably rely on.

Dark magic didn’t have that luxury.

And the woman standing in front of ?

She wasn’t just so random practitioner.

She was the strongest among them.

She wielded dark magic like it was second nature, shaping it into whatever form she wanted with an ease that made it look almost effortless. There was no hesitation in her movents as well as no strain in her presence. It was as if the magic itself obeyed her without question.

Her power alone was enough to make entire nations uneasy.

A small country wouldn’t dare provoke her. They wouldn’t even try. If anything, they would beg her not to do anything reckless, because a single flick of her will or a simple snap of her fingers, could erase them completely.

"Well, it’s only natural for to think that, right?" I said, letting out a quiet breath as I steadied myself. "You’ve never really been the type to leave your place. Seeing you here feels... off."

"There seems to be sothing interesting happening," she replied, her tone light, almost playful. "So I figured I’d co and watch how things unfold."

Her eyes wandered around the area, taking everything in with a casual curiosity, like she had all the ti in the world. The small smile on her face didn’t disappear, and it gave off the impression that she was genuinely enjoying herself just by being here.

"And along the way, I t soone rather interesting," she continued. "That person tried so hard to bring the entire Great Forest together... and actually succeeded. That alone was enough to catch my attention."

Her gaze shifted back to .

"I didn’t expect him to be your Master, though."

So she was talking about Master.

"You ca here just to see Master?" I asked, raising a brow.

"I did," she answered without hesitation. "He’s quite the fascinating man. Not only did he manage to ensnare Solaris and Agneis, but he also got all the leaders to cooperate with each other. That kind of thing shouldn’t even be possible."

A soft chuckle slipped from her lips.

"Even if you gave people a million years, they still wouldn’t be able to pull that off. But I suppose it makes sense... considering he’s Lilith’s son."

There was sothing in the way she said that. A hint of interest, maybe even a trace of excitent.

"And everyone seems to revolve around him," she added, tilting her head slightly. "That’s what makes curious. I want to see if he really is what they all say he is."

She wasn’t joking anymore.

Right now, she was serious. Curious, too. A catwoman like her being focused like that, with that level of interest, was not sothing anyone should take lightly.

Luna, at this very mont, was locked onto Master in a way that could either turn out very good... or very, very bad.

Still, I couldn’t help but think about it.

Soone like her becoming one of Master’s won?

Honestly... that didn’t sound like a bad idea.

If anything, I had a feeling Master would actually like her.

Leon’s POV

After eting Dorothea, I started focusing on sothing else entirely.

And it was sensing.

More specifically, sensing what was beneath .

The last ti, that woman had been stalking by phasing through the ground. But I only caught her because she stayed too close to the surface.

That was the only reason I managed to react in ti.

If she had gone deeper back then, things might have played out differently.

So now, as I walked, I extended my senses downward, trying to feel anything unusual below my feet. Any disturbance, any faint presence, or anything that didn’t belong there.

If there was even a chance that she was hiding underground again, then I needed to be able to detect her.

But no matter how much I focused, nothing ca up.

Just... nothing.

By the ti I reached the capital, my senses started picking up a lot more activity. Too much, actually. There were presences everywhere, overlapping, and mixing together until it beca a ss of signals that were hard to separate.

It made sense.

This was the capital.

People were everywhere. Guards, nobles, civilians, and rchants. The sheer number alone made it difficult to isolate anything specific, especially sothing hidden underground.

Trying to find one presence among all that was like trying to hear a whisper in the middle of a crowded street.

When I got close to the noble district, I finally let out a quiet sigh and stopped.

This wasn’t getting anywhere.

It was probably useless to keep trying like this.

As I continued walking, my attention shifted when I spotted a familiar figure sitting right in front of the castle gate.

It was Zes.

She was just sitting there casually, legs slightly apart, posture relaxed, but the way she looked at people passing by made it seem like she was about to rob soone at any second.

"What are you doing here, Zes?" I asked as I approached her.

"Master," she said, lifting her hand slightly. "Look."

I followed her gaze without questioning it.

Up above, on top of one of the nearby buildings, there was a black cat.

A very familiar one.

Wait.

Wasn’t that the sa black cat from the Great Forest?

I narrowed my eyes slightly.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, directing my voice toward it. Or rather, her.

That wasn’t just a normal cat.

It was the Dark Witch.

"I’m just here to see what’s going on," she replied casually, her voice carrying down without any effort. "It gets boring staying in bed and sleeping all day when there’s literal entertainnt happening around you, don’t you think?"

So...

To her, everything happening in the kingdom right now... with all the tension, the conflict, as well as the instability...

It was just entertainnt.

"I want to watch it properly," she continued, her tone steady, almost relaxed. "The complete destruction of this centuries-old kingdom."

Her eyes glead faintly as she spoke.

"I want to see it fall into ruin with my own eyes."
