Chapter 1489: Chapter 1489: Life is Still Quite Exciting

(Returning to the usual update schedule)

After agreeing, Luo Ziling quickly escaped from Yang Qingyin and Luo Yuqing’s room.

He knew that if he stayed with so many won any longer, more trouble would certainly arise.

Only after leaving the room did he finally sigh in relief.

But as soon as he returned to his own room, Ouyang Feifei ca knocking on his door.

When he opened it and saw Ouyang Feifei standing at the door, he was a bit surprised and instinctively joked, “What’s this? Planning to stay the night?”

Ouyang Feifei glared at Luo Ziling angrily for a mont before replying, “Since we’re attending the eting together tomorrow, I need to tell you what to discuss. Otherwise, you’d just sit there clueless.”

“I’ve noticed that the once-concise Ouyang Feifei is now turning quite naggy,” Luo Ziling said impatiently after letting her into the room. “Is this so inevitable transformation all won go through?”

“I’m rely explaining the situation to you.” Ouyang Feifei’s expression turned cold, evidently in a bad mood.

“Alright, sit down and let’s talk,” Luo Ziling relented, teasing her again as they sat, “This is really sothing Wang Qing should be handling, isn’t it?”

“Yes,” Ouyang Feifei admitted without hesitation, “but today I wanted to personally speak with you.”

“Is it that you want to spend more ti with , or that this matter is particularly important to you?” Luo Ziling asked, eyeing her playfully.

“Can you not be so full of yourself?” Ouyang Feifei regained her composure. “You ran off in such a hurry earlier.”

“Fine, I’ll shut up and listen to you,” Luo Ziling conceded, sealing his lips.

Ouyang Feifei didn’t waste ti with complaints, patiently briefing Luo Ziling on the cooperation matters for the next day.

As it turned out, both Ouyang Feifei and Ling Ruonan not only wanted to expand in the South but were also planning to increase investnts in the West.

Wang Keming, the administrative chief of Chang’an City, had insisted on inviting Ling Ruonan to invest in Chang’an when he went on a business trip to Yanjing earlier this year. After discussing it with Ouyang Feifei, Ling Ruonan decided on large-scale investnts in the key Western city.

The planned investnts would primarily involve Ouyang Feifei’s Lingyun Group, as Ling Ruonan worried about being criticized due to her college connection with Wang Keming, which could jeopardize both their careers. The key investnt areas in Chang’an would be pharmaceuticals and real estate. Since real estate is a sensitive topic, it was better for Ouyang Feifei to represent them in negotiations with local officials rather than Ling Ruonan.

“Yesterday, Chen Ruchang arrived in Chang’an, and Wang Keming went to the airport to et him.” Ouyang Feifei also explained the encounter at the airport the day before. “Wang Keming doesn’t know your identity yet, but when he sees you tomorrow, he will definitely recognize you. You look quite similar to your mom.”

“Now I understand. Without the guidance of the previous generation, accomplishing great things is as tough as scaling the heavens.”

Ouyang Feifei hadn’t expected Luo Ziling to express such sentint, but after pondering, she agreed. “It’s true. Having connections makes everything easier. If you approached things under the identity of the Ling Family’s grandson and Ling Ruonan’s son, nothing would be difficult for you. But if you acted purely as an ordinary person, success would be impossible. Society really is that pragmatic.”

Luo Ziling simply nodded, saying nothing more.

Ouyang Feifei continued, “I heard from your mom that you’re confident about turning the Luo Family into a modern dynasty. I admire your ambition, but I want to give you so advice: if you want to achieve your goal, you’ll need to leverage every relationship, gather as much support as possible, and minimize your enemies. Only then can you succeed.”

“You’re a very pragmatic person,” Luo Ziling said, voicing his own stance. “But I think I’m quite emotional. I’m still young, and I don’t see anything wrong with pursuing things impulsively. Otherwise, life would feel too stagnant. Honestly, I’ve thought this through. With my mom around, I don’t need to take on so much responsibility. If I wanted, I could spend these years having fun, being a carefree heir, and at least living comfortably.”

Ouyang Feifei gazed at Luo Ziling for a while before saying, “Perhaps your life is more exciting than mine.”

“Of course! At least the joy of traveling through the Tianshan Mountains in the Northwest is sothing you can’t experience.”

“I heard you plan to conquer Tianshan this sumr?”

Luo Ziling was montarily stunned. “Who told you that?”

“Luo Yuqing just ntioned it,” Ouyang Feifei replied honestly. “Just now.”

“So, you want to co too?”

“I wouldn’t dare,” Ouyang Feifei shook her head. “I know soone like couldn’t possibly conquer Tianshan.”

“Oh?!” Luo Ziling was surprised. “I guess I assud wrong.”

Ouyang Feifei looked at him and said softly, “But I am interested in traveling to the Northwest. I’d like to visit your little mountain village again.”

“If the opportunity arises, let’s form a travel group and go together!”

Ouyang Feifei smiled but didn’t say anything more.

Soon after, Ouyang Feifei left. Once she was gone, Luo Ziling lay down on the bed to sleep.

Before sleeping, as usual, he opened his WeChat Monts.

Everyone around him had updated their Monts.

Yang Qingyin had posted several sets of photos from today.

One set was from the Daming Palace Ruins Park; another included the Bell Tower and Muslim Street.

The Daming Palace photos were accompanied by a caption.

“Walking through historic landmarks, listening to soone supposedly knowledgeable about history sharing insights, it’s quite enjoyable.”

Luo Ziling liked the post and comnted beneath it, “Now you realize this person knows more about history than soone with a degree in it, huh?”

Luo Yuqing had also posted on her Monts—a group photo of the three of them, along with photos of the Bell Tower and food.

Her caption read, “Third-wheeling while enduring endless flirting and bickering between these two. Getting force-fed ‘dog food’ on this ancient Valentine’s Day was truly unpleasant.”

Luo Ziling liked her post as well and comnted, “Being a light bulb requires a certain level of enlightennt.”

Ouyang Feifei had also updated her Monts.

However, she had only shared a few photos without any caption.

The photos included shots of the Daming Palace Ruins, the city walls, and, lastly, a silhouette of herself standing against the backdrop of the night.

The final image exuded a sense of loneliness.

Luo Ziling, feeling mischievous, liked the post and comnted, “Haven’t we outgrown writing lancholy odes for no reason?”

Chen Xiaoyi had also posted on her Monts—a selfie with the caption: “Had a great day.”

Luo Ziling silently gave her post a like.

Just then, he noticed so replies to his comnts.

Luo Yuqing’s reply was: “Do you believe this ga light bulb won’t blow up and take you down with it?”

Luo Ziling chuckled but didn’t reply further.

Ouyang Feifei had also replied, but only with a row of eye-roll emoji.

Yang Qingyin’s reply caught him off guard: “Stop polluting my Monts feed.”

Even so, Luo Ziling didn’t get upset. After browsing the Monts updates from these won, his mood inexplicably brightened.

Life was indeed quite lively.
