Chapter 1949: Chapter 1949: Things Are Getting More and More Complicated

Luo Ziling and Luo Liansheng left the Fang Old Residence at eight o’clock in the evening.

Wuyue, Yang Xiaodong, and Wang Zhenjun ca to pick them up with a team.

Seeing all these people, Luo Ziling was surprised and suspiciously asked Wuyue if there was any situation.

“Miss instructed us to be extrely vigilant to avoid complications,” Wuyue whispered in reply, “We are also worried that the Chen Family might retaliate using the sa tactics, and even more concerned that the Fang Family might play tricks, so we’ve intensified the security asures a bit.”

Hearing Wuyue say this, Luo Ziling didn’t say anything further.

He obeyed Wuyue’s arrangent and left with Luo Liansheng in two separate cars.

The two cars were identical, indistinguishable except for the license plates.

In fact, the plates were almost the sa, differing only by one letter; one car had “2,” the other had “Z.”

Luo Ziling and Wuyue rode in one car, with Wuyue sitting beside him in the passenger seat while Yang Xiaodong drove.

Luo Liansheng was in another car, driven by another bodyguard, with Wang Zhenjun accompanying in the back.

“Any findings from reconnaissance?” Luo Ziling whispered to Wuyue while on the road.

“There’s quite a stir at the Chen Family; both Chen Yining and Chen Yijing were summoned to the old residence. We’re afraid they might get desperate,” Wuyue whispered back, “We’ve countered them several tis using these tactics, and I think they might be learning.”

He quickly added, “Young Master, at any ti, you must be careful and never be careless.”

“Alas, life is becoming impossible,” Luo Ziling lanted internally.

Even a normal life can’t be guaranteed.

Looks like from now on, I must go to school daily; it should be safe there.

The Chen Family and other enemies, no matter how bold, likely won’t dare cause trouble on the Yan University campus, such a special environnt.

Our opponents are not reckless villains; they need to consider the impact of their actions.

If they act in school, it would constitute a terror event.

If things are exposed, the trouble it brings them is far from minor.

The grandfather and grandson duo finally arrived safely at Ling Ruonan’s villa.

Ling Ruonan had returned ho before them, and seeing Luo Ziling and Luo Liansheng walking into the living room together, she breathed a sigh of relief.

“Mom, you really don’t need to worry too much.” Entering the living room, Luo Ziling smiled and said to Ling Ruonan, “It’s already a special period now, the entire city is almost in lockdown, who would dare to take such a big risk to cause trouble? On the way back, I saw police patrolling everywhere, and there were soldiers too. I think those hooligans wouldn’t dare create trouble during this ti, let alone those who bear grudges against us.”

“But you also can’t be careless,” Ling Ruonan glared at Luo Ziling angrily, “If anything unexpected happens, wouldn’t it beco a problem? Just like the day you hired the ride-hailing car—if the driver ignored everything and caused an accident, ramming into a big car or sothing else, you wouldn’t die, but you’d suffer severe injuries.”

“Mom, I promise I won’t call ride-hailing cars anymore, okay?” Luo Ziling chose not to argue with Ling Ruonan.

It seed that the incident with the ride-hailing car would be brought up repeatedly as a lesson by Ling Ruonan.

After sitting on the sofa, Ling Ruonan asked Luo Liansheng and Luo Ziling about several matters.

Luo Liansheng recounted what happened today and also shared so things that Fang Xiang told him later with Ling Ruonan.

Fang Xiang spoke privately with Luo Liansheng about certain things, which Luo Ziling was unaware of, and only found out when Luo Liansheng ntioned them.

What surprised Luo Ziling was Fang Xiang’s proposal to offer his granddaughter to him.

“Grandpa, how did you respond?” Luo Ziling was taken aback.

“This matter is up to you and your mom to decide; grandpa won’t be involved,” Luo Liansheng chuckled, and added, “Fang Xiang knows this proposal may not succeed, so he also suggested another idea, which is for Fang Dongxun to marry Yuqing.”

Ling Ruonan was sipping her tea, and upon hearing Luo Liansheng’s words, she choked.

“They are truly persistent,” Ling Ruonan said with a mix of laughter and tears after coughing a few tis, “Dad, you didn’t agree, right?”

“How could I dare agree?” Luo Liansheng laughed at himself, “Matters of the heart among young people should be left for them to cultivate themselves.”

“Indeed,” Luo Ziling joined the conversation, “I think if Yuqing knew about this, she would definitely jump up. She knows Fang Dongxun’s flirtatious nature and surely wouldn’t be interested in him.”

“Perhaps the Fang Family doesn’t necessarily want to ally with us through marriage, or rather, they don’t have to,” Luo Liansheng stroked his beard slowly and said, “They’re simply showing a stance, making us understand that they’re making an effort to maintain a good relationship with us.”

“That should be the case,” Ling Ruonan nodded, “We’ve already responded to the Fang Family regarding Ling’er’s feelings once. Now they’ve ntioned it again, probably just as a gesture, not really intending to marry into our family.”

“Grandpa, mom, affairs among powerful families are indeed complicated,” Luo Ziling said with a bitter smile.

“Ling’er, why don’t you discuss so situations with Wuyue and the others? Your grandpa and I need to talk about so things.”

Hearing Ling Ruonan’s instructions, Luo Ziling imdiately stood up and went off to find Wuyue.

While discussing with Wuyue the situations related to the Chen Family, Luo Ziling’s phone buzzed with a WeChat ssage.

“Junior, are you free tonight?” It was from Dai Shulan.

“What’s up, is Senior planning to treat to a late-night snack?”

“Yes, it just depends on whether you’re willing to grace us with your presence!” Dai Shulan’s ssage was accompanied by a few laughing emojis.

“I assu there’s more to it than just a late-night snack, is there sothing else?”

“Can’t I just invite you for a late-night snack?” Followed by a few eye-rolling emojis.

Before Luo Ziling could respond, Dai Shulan sent another ssage: “Actually, there’s indeed sothing to discuss with you.”

“What’s it about?”

“Didn’t I tell you last ti? Xia Liuhui, who excels at writing urban stories, wants to create a novel based on your story. He’s in Yanjing on business these days, and today he invited to a late-night snack, also hoping to et you, the legendary prince of the city.”

Reading Dai Shulan’s ssage, Luo Ziling felt a bit hesitant.

After thinking it over, he ultimately chose not to refuse.

“Alright then, let know the place, and I’ll co over.”

“Let’s et at the café near our school; I’ll send you the private room number later.”

Luo Ziling agreed.

Upon hearing that Luo Ziling wanted to go out, Ling Ruonan was a bit surprised but didn’t stop him, letting him go.

Unaware of Luo Ziling’s purpose for going out, Wuyue didn’t ask either and imdiately went to make arrangents.

In a short while, she personally drove Luo Ziling over.

Seeing another car following behind, Luo Ziling felt quite embarrassed.

Going out for a date required such a grand spectacle; if anyone found out, they’d definitely call it pretentious.

“Life’s beco a bit dull,” he mused.
