They squatted down to observe these corpses.
Soon, the Captain returned.
He stated directly, "It’s almost certain that this is the work of the cultists.
If nothing unexpected happens, quite a few people in this village are likely followers of the Evil God."
"How is that determined?" Alicia asked curiously.
The Captain glanced at Kana, and after seeing Kana nod, he explained.
"To distinguish if it’s the work of cultists, the most important thing to note is the sense of ritual."
"Sense of ritual?" Lawrence was sowhat puzzled.
He had never heard of such a term.
But Alicia seed to understand sothing.
"What cultists do is mostly imbued with a sense of ritual, because they believe it’s a sacrifice to the Evil God they worship.
Of course, not all cultists are like this; if they’re followers of so special Evil God, their sacrifices might resemble a mad slaughter."
At least the actions of the majority of followers of the Evil Gods can be analyzed in this way.
Of course, there could be instances of mimicry, but for now, that won’t happen.
"If it’s obvious, we should find so symbols. For cultists, symbols representing their respective Evil Gods are extrely important."
This can almost be found in every tragedy orchestrated by an Evil God.
Sotis, when it’s impossible to worship a specific image of an Evil God, a symbol becos the best abstract representation.
Otherwise, without an inherent object to rally around, a large number of cultists would struggle to gather faith.
"We found so bodies in the ruins, and these bodies clearly have no signs of struggle.
That would only result in two situations: one, they were knocked unconscious by sothing special. Two, they were voluntary."
"In the first situation, many of the death postures of the bodies do not conform to the norm, and in such cases, cultists usually gather these people together.
In the second situation, they voluntarily sacrificed themselves, which is not uncommon among Evil God followers, in fact, it’s very common."
After listening to the Captain’s explanation.
Bobo asked, "Can’t it be determined which Evil God it is?"
Kana and his team did more than nothing in the town.
Kana had practically marked all the potential Evil Gods that could appear at this stage and described the forms they might manifest.
Every Night Watcher must understand this information.
Becoming a Captain involves more than just pondering; aside from strength, knowledge in this area is necessary.
But the Captain shook his head.
"It does not match our impression of any fire-related Evil Gods, but rather resembles other Evil God followers sacrificing themselves in this way."
Upon hearing this, Kana fell into slight contemplation.
He glanced at Alicia.
At this mont, Alicia seed a bit surprised, at least these Night Watchers displayed greater professionalism than the people from the Holy Light Church.
After all, before this, most cultists faced by the Holy Light Church were hardly discreet.
In the past few centuries, many cultists might not even understand what they believed in. More often, they believed in things that did not exist, rely wrapped in magic.

"The earliest discovered were the cultists spreading the plague among the refugees, the kind we encountered before.
Since they were discovered early and we understood them to so degree, we conducted targeted extermination, though those cultists were not completely eradicated."
Evidently, these were the followers of the previously encountered [Rotting Monarch].
"Next, almost simultaneously discovered were the cults that favored cruel skinning and beheading rituals, all of them battle-obsessed madn."
Similarly, they were the previously encountered, and perhaps old acquaintances, followers of the [Skull Crown Lord].
Then Alicia frowned: "The next two were only recently discovered, and we can’t determine if it’s due to faith in Evil Gods unknown to us.
One stems from a murder among nobles, with too many issues in this conspiracy. One of the participants in the conspiracy manifested abnormalities that were suppressed by the Holy Light.
The last one, discovered only a few days ago, involved a man and a woman embracing each other, their bodies nearly fused, yet their expressions were blissful."
Sure enough, these are the four.
The world outside is vast, naturally filled with nurous revolting Evil Gods.
But just like how the world occupies different positions in the Star Realm, the territories of these Evil Gods are in various places.
And every world encounters nuisances of evil faith, generally presented as one entity.
That is the Demon.
The Demons brought by the Abyss almost equally harass all worlds.
They are the flies of the Star Realm.
And around this world.
