"Senior, the matter has been resolved,"

the novelist said.

"That fast?"

"The matter itself wasn’t complex, and I don’t have ti to dawdle with them; I still have to go ho to write my novel."

The novelist stated calmly.

"Do I still need to do anything?"

Liu Zheng asked.

"Just wait for your friend to contact you."

"Okay."

He hung up the phone.

Back in the lounge, Niu Ma was lying supine.

Seeing it idle, Liu Zheng suddenly had an idea.

"Boss, do you want to make so extra cash?"

"What kind of extra cash?"

Hearing about making money, Niu Ma sat up imdiately.

"It’s about the Vampire Sister we talked about last ti. Her Blood Father left an inheritance, but she was ganged up on by those blood relatives and doesn’t dare to claim it."

"How about you accompany her, and I’ll get her to split it with you?"

Liu Zheng proposed.

"A vampire’s inheritance, huh."

Niu Ma was sowhat tempted.

It’s well known that vampires aren’t necessarily powerful, but they sure know how to survive.

Even if it’s only a viscount, after a few hundred years, he must have saved quite a bit of money.

"Forget it."

A mont later, it shook its big head.

"Huh? Why?"

Liu Zheng was quite surprised.

Had Niu Ma changed its ways?

"You’re not afraid you can’t beat those vampires, are you?"

"Bullshit, I’d skewer and roast even a vampire earl if he showed up, let alone a few viscount’s offspring,"

Niu Ma retorted angrily.

"Then why pass up the chance to make money?"

"None of your business. How’s the situation with the person you’re pulling out?"

Niu Ma changed the subject.

"The novelist said it’s all taken care of, and I just have to wait for Nightingale to contact ,"

Liu Zheng replied.

No sooner had he spoken than his phone began to ring.

Looking at the caller ID, it was indeed Nightingale.

"Hello?"

He answered the phone.

"I’m out,"

ca Nightingale’s voice.

"Congratulations. How much are you planning to give as a reward?"

Liu Zheng got straight to the point.

"You’re quite direct."

Nightingale laughed heartily.

"However, the situation may be a bit different from what you’re thinking. Let’s et and talk."

She said.

"I can’t go out without an order."

"Then I’ll have Haii place a takeout order."

Nightingale suggested.

"That’s fine. Wait, don’t order from ’Red Witch’ board ga parlor."

Liu Zheng quickly warned.

"Why not?"

"Because I don’t want to get struck by lightning,"

he said with a twitch of his mouth.

"Hmm... I won’t ask why. Then I’ll have Haii change the place,"

Nightingale conceded.

"Alright."

After hanging up, Liu Zheng pondered.

Nightingale had ntioned twice about having Haii place the order.

She, a rich woman planning to open a board ga store, should have more money than Haii, right?

Could it be...

He had an ominous premonition.

Looking at Niu Ma next to him, eager with expectation, Liu Zheng hesitated a bit and decided not to ntion it for now.

Better not to get beaten up now and then get beaten up again later.

However, if Nightingale’s side failed to yield any money, maybe Niu Ma would consider helping Vampire Sister.

"Nightingale is out, she wants to et and talk."

Liu Zheng said.

"Mm-hmm, have a good talk, try to negotiate her into bankruptcy,"

Niu Ma encouraged him, patting his shoulder.

"I’ll do my best,"

He didn’t dare to tell Niu Ma that Nightingale might already be bankrupt.

It wasn’t long before Ghost Hand crawled in.

Still looking drunk, apparently, he wasn’t going to get better today.

"Boss, is there any coffee left?"

Liu Zheng asked with a sigh.

"Ah?"

Niu Ma looked clueless about what that was.

"Stop pretending, you definitely intercepted so. I just want one cup,"

he said.

"That’s my own cup. Fine, since you’re about to go into negotiations, I’ll give it to you,"

Niu Ma reluctantly fetched a cup of fresh coconut latte.

Liu Zheng handed the coffee to Ghost Hand, who swayed while staring at him, then suddenly cracked a smile, leaped up, and patted his head.

After that, he left the lounge with the coffee in his arms.

"Wow, that guy can really jump high."

Niu Ma said, amused.

His threshold for humor really was low.

Liu Zheng shook his head and looked at the takeout order.

"Order: Mashed potato salad."

"Address: ’Aladdin’ apartnt 1219."

"Ti limit: One hour."

Co on, what’s with you board ga parlors and your beef with potatoes?

The birthplace of board gas isn’t Siberia.

Looking at this order, Haii wasn’t much richer than Vampire Sister.

"Well, there goes another wasted trip."

He sighed and left the lounge.

Checking the order, the results were unsurprisingly predictable.

"Na: Mashed potato salad."

"Type: Prop."

"Quality: Common."

"Effect: Restores stamina."

"Note: An unremarkable portion of mashed potato salad; however, because it has ’salad’ in the na, it is twice the price of plain mashed potato."

"Can it be taken out of the instance: No."

"Hmm..."

He felt like the system’s remarks were mocking him, and he had evidence.

After preparing the al, Liu Zheng headed for the Aladdin apartnt.

This destination was completely opposite to the French Plane Tree, so he still didn’t go looking for it.

Anyway, that guy was sick of eting with him too often.

The Aladdin apartnt was about five kiloters from the restaurant, plenty of ti to get there within an hour.

So, Liu Zheng didn’t run; he just walked briskly.

He now had a vest on his body, cash in his pocket, and the essence of the Vampire Sister within him, overflowing with a sense of security.

Liu Zheng was even looking forward to so blind fool coming up against him, so he could beat them up to vent his frustration.

The last ti he vented was when he killed that bug manager; now his pent-up anger was accumulating again.

Of course, governnt employees like water trucks or green vests were out of the question.

Running into them would only double his irritation.

"Ding-a-ling~~~"

Suddenly, Liu Zheng heard a crisp ringing from behind him.

"Huh? Is there really soone so blind?"

He looked back and saw a bicycle catching up from about a few hundred ters behind him.

The bicycle was large, and its overall design reminded him of the big, sturdy ones he had seen in his childhood.

The entire body was painted green, even the seat was green.

Attached to the bike’s rear was a huge box, about half the height of a person.

But this wasn’t too outrageous, considering the real-life sturdy bikes’ load-bearing capacity was quite high, capable of carrying four or five hundred pounds without a problem.

In Africa, many people use them to transport things, piling up bunches of bananas till they can just fling them onto the back seat; down a slope they go, riding as free as the wind.

What was really outrageous was that there was no one on the bicycle’s seat.

There were only two white work gloves holding onto the handlebars and a pair of prosaic, triple-junction leather shoes on the pedals.

Liu Zheng’s gaze sharpened slightly.

From his experience, those without even the appearance of a person were often quite troubleso.

Especially its appearance, which closely resembled that of a governnt employee.

Could it be a delivery person?

After weighing his options, Liu Zheng decided to give it so space.

He moved aside, watching as the bicycle approached, until it passed by him.

Liu Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, letting his tentacle-grasping teeth-grinding stick droop slightly.

It was best not to cause a conflict; after all, he was a pacifist, huh?

However, the sigh of relief that Liu Zheng breathed out had to be gulped back almost imdiately.

Because the bicycle didn’t ride off into the distance, it stopped and waited for him.

Liu Zheng pursed his lips and walked past the bicycle.

"Ding-a-ling~"

The sound of the bicycle bell rang out again, and the bicycle followed him once more.

He stopped, and the bicycle stopped.

He walked, and the bicycle followed.

"Co on, buddy, what exactly do you want? Draw a line."

Finally, Liu Zheng couldn’t hold back any longer.

"Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling-a-ling, ding-a-ling ding..."

The bicycle produced a long, rhythmic ring that was undeniably so sort of code, perhaps Morse code or sothing similar.

He listened, nodding his head and tapping his hoof to the beat.

At last, the ringing stopped.

"Sorry, I didn’t understand a single thing you just said."

Liu Zheng spread his tentacles in apology.

"Ding-a-ling-a-ling!!!"

The work gloves furiously pressed the bicycle bell.

This ti, without needing to understand Morse code, he got the ssage—the bicycle was cursing him.

"It’s my fault for having such a narrow range of knowledge and not understanding your exquisite tones. Could you stoop to communicate with in a way I can understand?"

Liu Zheng said earnestly.

Upon hearing this, the labor protection gloves released the bicycle bell.

After thinking for a while, the bicycle rode to the front of Liu Zheng, then turned around and swiftly brushed past him.

Liu Zheng saw that a black tire mark had appeared on the ground.

Then, the bicycle rode up beside him, keeping its front wheel level with him.

"Are you challenging to a race? Uh, no, a bike race?"

Liu Zheng now understood.

"Ding-a-ling!"

The bicycle answered with a short, jubilant ring.

"I still have to deliver food, how about next ti?"

He was stalling for ti.

"Ding-a-ling-ling!"

The sound of the bell was piercing.

"I really don’t have ti, you can’t be unreasonable, can you?"

"Ding-a-ling-ling!!!"

The ringing of the bell grew louder.

"No, you just show up and want to race, how can we race without a referee?"

Liu Zheng found an excuse.

"I shall judge this ultimate urban legend race!"

A bold voice ca from the sky.

"Huh?"

He looked up to the sky, and a giant red dragonfly descended from above.

Its body was covered in tallic armor plates, and both wings and limbs were tal as well.

But its head was flesh and blood, an old man’s head, albeit with compound eyes like those of a dragonfly.

The Red Dragonfly landed on the ground, back to Liu Zheng and the bicycle, and then perford an elegant 360° turn on the spot.

"Firstly, absolutely no acting on impulse!"

"Secondly, absolutely no overlooking any bad deed!"

"Thirdly, absolutely fair and beautiful judging!"

"Judging robot Dragonfly..."

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Before the Red Dragonfly could fully introduce itself, Liu Zheng cut it off.

"If you keep going, this book will turn into a fanfic."

"Besides, if you’re to be a childhood mory, think of the psychological shadow you’d cast on the kids."

Looking at the Red Dragonfly’s bizarre head, his eyes twitched uncontrollably.

"That’s not important, what’s important is that I shall be the judge of this race."

The Red Dragonfly stated nonchalantly.

"I haven’t agreed to race with it, though."

"A race is like the challenges in life, there’s no way to refuse their arrival, you just have to give your all to et them head-on," the Red Dragonfly declared with a voice that sounded like a trustworthy Showa-era uncle.

"No, who are you lecturing to?"

Liu Zheng asked with hollow eyes.

The Red Dragonfly’s gaze wasn’t even directed at him or the bicycle.

"To all the little friends in front of the TV sets."

The Red Dragonfly said gravely.

I’ve already said, kids seeing you would only leave them with childhood traumas!

"Whatever it is you’re going through, we have to have this race no matter what, right?"

Liu Zheng heaved a sigh and asked.

"Precisely."

Finally, the Red Dragonfly turned its head back.

"Fine, then go race with Tendaros."

The curled up tentacle stretched out swiftly, the tooth-grinding stick looking ready to slip out of grasp.
