Now reading: Chapter 1153: Divine Game Quiet Mountain 36 from This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist, a Drama novel by Catlove12Fish.

It was dusk on the 14th day of the ga.

QM Kessa sat atop the clock tower, gazing at the distant golden rain curtain. The downpour was accompanied by thunder, blizzards, and mist.

Quiet Mountain Ergency Mission: Within 17 days, completely eliminate SS Rita. Players contributing more than 10% will be granted a wish from the Demon Ga, including but not limited to altering nightmares, extending ga frequency, acquiring custom weapons/items, obtaining the Order Badge, or accessing the original mories.

This was the mission Quiet Mountain had posted the previous day.

It was this very mission that set all the Apostles of God into motion. This was also the first group mission Quiet Mountain had issued outside the Demon Ga.

[Kessa]: How much longer until you’re all ready?

[Frenzied Shark]: Mojie and I still need 9 hours.

[SmokeTune]: Cicada and I will be a bit later, 11 hours.

[Rita]: 8 hours.

[Frost Deer]: I never said I wasn’t participating. Can you return the Order Badge to ?

[Rita]: It’s with Mistblade.

[Maple Syrup]: I really don’t get why you had to deliberately let SS SmokeTune overhear your loud plotting. What’s your ga?

[Mistblade]: She wants to see if any players will rush to "Midsumr" for another version of her, but she’s worried SS Rita might run away, so she’s playing with timing.

[Cicada]: Bored.

[Rita]: Are you talking about , Cicada?

[Cicada]: Talking about Mistblade.

[Mistblade]: ...Am I really that easy to provoke?

[Maple Syrup]: Mostly, she thinks she can get away with it.

[Mistblade]: Cicada?

[Cicada]: ^_^

DawnCicada was standing in line in front of the domain-level teleportation array, ntally debating whether she should confront Deceitful Bloom as she had before, or calmly ask if she had any new plans.

Out of nowhere, a light rain began falling above her head, dampening her perfectly styled pale blonde hair.

The only one who liked doing this was Tiger Ear Kessa. DawnCicada turned her head coldly and crossed her arms, scanning the wet Tiger Ear Kessa from head to toe. She comnted in Vineborne: "Childish."

Tiger Ear Kessa, however, had neatly positioned her hat to block the rain. She didn’t react to DawnCicada’s comnt and instead pointed her chin toward the distant teleportation array. "Are you planning to go to ’Midsumr’ to help her?"

She responded in Vineborne too, as this ga didn’t have any limitations on language types. Having played Divine Ga for so many years, Tiger Ear Kessa had long mastered Vineborne.

DawnCicada closed her eyes and, under the cover of her eyelids, rolled her eyes politely before replying, "Do you think that’s possible?"

"Ah!" Tiger Ear Kessa suddenly understood. "You’re going to check if your little network is getting involved with soone else, right? Well, I can’t say for sure, since BS Rita is Vineborne now too. Did she thank you for that?"

"..." DawnCicada silently made a note of this question in her mind. She would have to bring it up with Deceitful Bloom later—whether BS Rita, now half-Vineborne, had any new plans.

Her thoughts were a ss, but DawnCicada’s face remained calm as she smoothly changed the subject. "What about you? You’re not going to save her, are you? When did you two get so close?"

"As for the matter of the ’Midsumr’ sigh, I do owe her a favor, but it’s not that serious yet." Tiger Ear Kessa’s rain stopped, and the clouds shifted to change the weather. She continued, "She definitely won’t give up so easily. I just want to take the chance to grab the Order Badge."

"Sa here."

"It’d be nice to see QM Kessa too."

"Sa here."

"It’d be nice to watch the chaos."

"Sa here."

"In short, it’s not for BS Rita."

"Sa here."

Tiger Ear Kessa quietly observed the flowers blooming on DawnCicada’s vine and the cold, indifferent expression on her face. She was a bit uncertain about the other’s mood—after all, who exactly was claiming Vineborne was easy to understand...?

anwhile, in the 43rd Domain

Lightchaser and Ash Cinders stepped out of the teleportation array together. As they passed one The Mountainbound after another, they headed toward the teleportation array on the opposite side of the city to change their route.

Lightchaser sidestepped a Mountainbound with antlers and said, "The Mountainbound that was tracking us shouldn’t be that weak."

Ash Cinders imdiately voiced what Lightchaser had been implying, "You suspect all the Apostles of God are surrounding her?"

Lightchaser: "Yeah, if I were Quiet Mountain, I would have posted such a mission."

Ash Cinders: "I wonder if we’ll be able to help her."

Lightchaser shot Ash Cinders a puzzled look. "I thought you were going there to grab the Order Badge in the chaos?"

Moonbear suddenly stopped in her tracks, realization dawning on her. "You’re mad at ."

The elf also halted, glancing back at Moonbear through the flow of passing The Mountainbound. "A little."

Moonbear calmly guessed, "Is it because I didn’t stay there and search for her?"

The elf nodded. "I know it doesn’t make sense."

Moonbear nodded in return. "Well, I’m glad you understand."

The two resud walking, accustod to their occasional squabbles.

Moonbear continued the previous topic, "To be honest, I’m also a bit mad at myself. But not because I didn’t focus solely on finding her. I know how to prioritize. I believe you do too. She’s strong, not a child who needs constant supervision."

"Mm, so why are you mad at yourself?"

"I’m mad that I always assu she’ll understand my choices. So every ti I stop searching for her to focus on sothing else, I do it without feeling guilty. I need to change that."

"So, you’re going to leave her to do other things with worry from now on?"

"Mm."

"That’s a touching change. I’m planning to tell her. You don’t mind, right?"

"I don’t mind. So what about you? What change are you planning to make?" Moonbear asked.

The elf replied confidently, "I’m not planning to change anything. I’m not mad at myself."
