Now reading: Chapter 687: Divine Game – Chaotic Blocks 78 from This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist, a Drama novel by Catlove12Fish.

Hearing the system ssage echo in her mind, Rita silently put away Cat’s Ideal.

Of course. If a ga reward like Blocks Duplication could affect Divine Relics, then it would also an a Universal Fragnt could be exchanged for Cat’s Ideal. And if you could just collect nine Universal Fragnts to craft a Divine Relic... wouldn’t that be way too easy?

Having seen enough chaos for now, Fat Duck turned and left.

Still holding onto unopened capsules, Rita stashed away the Blocks Duplication for later. Who knew—maybe she’d find sothing even more valuable to copy. No rush.

Rita might be satisfied, but Sweet Polo was suffering after parting ways with BS-Rita.

After a long internal struggle, it reluctantly opened the demon chat channel and ssaged Deceitful Bloom, trying to play it cool.

Sweet Polo: Hey Deceitful Bloom, any more gacha machines left? Could I get one?

Deceitful Bloom: What happened to yours?

Sweet Polo: Would you believe if I said I lost it?

Deceitful Bloom: I rember you were at March The Park. Did you run into BS-Rita?

Sweet Polo: ...Okay, yeah. I sold it to her. She begged for a long ti. It’s not against the rules, right?

Maangmaang: How much did you sell it for?

Sweet Polo: 98% of her and her pet’s attribute Blocks... and over 70% of her ga item fragnts.

Deceitful Bloom: You sold it too cheap.

Sweet Polo: Any more and she’d have reset back to the start...

Maangmaang: That’s still considered cheap?

Milk: She’s not crazy, right? Didn’t she just make a killing selling barbecue? That included too?

Sweet Polo: Yeah.

Deceitful Bloom: And she actually agreed to that price?

Sweet Polo: ...She stuffed her Divine Relics and other important items into the gacha capsules.

Maangmaang: ...Yeah, you got scamd.

Deceitful Bloom: You definitely got scamd.

Milk: Total scam.

Maangmaang: So you lost the machine. What about the capsules?

Sweet Polo: She used a 90% off coupon and bought them all. She even triggered the hidden Easter egg—"Co Ho, Event Gift."

Milk: So now you’ve got no machine, and you’re asking Deceitful Bloom to hand over a free replacent?

Sweet Polo: ...Yeah.

Maangmaang: Wow. Deceitful Bloom’s your intern now?

Milk: Wow. Deceitful Bloom’s your intern now?

Deceitful Bloom: Wow. So now I’m Sweet Polo’s intern?

Deceitful Bloom: Go walk the streets with your little capsules and sell them. I’ll talk to the captain about setting up formal rules for selling gacha machines.

Sweet Polo: ...

Milk: But wouldn’t it take four high-tier gods to adjust even external sale rules?

Deceitful Bloom: I’ll find the Captain and the Drumr. You go get Dimwit.

Sweet Polo: So... you want to ban the sale of gacha machines?

Deceitful Bloom: No. I want anyone selling one to use BS-Rita’s purchase price as the baseline.

Deceitful Bloom: Only players with taste deserve good stuff.

Deceitful Bloom: By the way, did you collect her dragon’s Blocks?

Sweet Polo: ...

Deceitful Bloom: Tsk.

After Fat Duck left, Rita returned to the marketplace. Her listing for Early Exit still hadn’t sold, so she added a gacha capsule priced at 100 Blocks from February The Park.

On the other end, Nivalis—already notified—snatched it up imdiately. Rita and B8017913 split the earnings, making sure they had enough loose Blocks to avoid getting hit too hard by random play fees.

Then she listed four more capsules, each containing just 1g of attribute Blocks, priced at 15g apiece.

Who knew—maybe so sucker would buy them?

Once those were dealt with, she and B8017913 picked up two convenient als before settling into a secluded corner. Back in the spaceship, Rita began cracking open gacha capsules.

She didn’t do it alone—B8017913 helped.

Worried Verdant Whisper · Windrush might summon her into a ga at any mont, Rita only pulled out 50 capsules at a ti. Crack, check, repeat.

Over 420 capsules in, and she hadn’t pulled a single decent item. Just like the ones she opened to buy information earlier—each one only had 3–5g Blocks.

When Sweet Polo returned, Rita was cradling her 500th capsule, arm slung over her ch companion’s shoulder, solemnly preaching: "You know... pity systems are a lie. The fancier they sound, the more they lie."

Sweet Polo: "..."

It waddled closer—whoever designed this form clearly thought it was funny to make its gait so wobbly—and stopped in front of BS-Rita, staring at her with mournful eyes.

Rita cracked open her 500th capsule. Her brows lifted. Finally—a Prize Box!

She threw a glance at the duck. Oh? No gacha machine. That ant this was No.1 Fat Duck. She asked, just to confirm, "It’s you?"

Her hands didn’t stop moving, though the pace was no longer frantic—at least now she didn’t have to worry about losing important Blocks in upcoming gas.

Sweet Polo: "You never gave your dragon’s Blocks."

Rita: "You never asked. The deal’s done. No take-backs."

Sweet Polo plopped down beside the spaceship, defeated. "I didn’t get a new machine. Divine Ga won’t give one. I might have to walk around town hawking these capsules..."

Rita shrugged, unaffected: "Just list your capsules in the exchange. I put a few up earlier."

Sweet Polo stared silently. Selling retail just didn’t compare to letting players spend directly through a machine.

Avoiding eye contact, Rita tossed the red-and-white Prize Box into her gacha machine.

That’s the magic of capsules. Even items that normally couldn’t be stored in inventory could be loaded into the machine once encapsulated.

Now that her Divine Relics were secured, Rita finally had the peace of mind to scroll through the battle chat feed.

Seventeen minutes had passed since she left the Labyrinth, and the chat had already cycled through several topics.

Still, many players were asking where Verdant Whisper · Windrush was headed next.

Ever since it beca known she’d used a special item on BS-Rita, Mistblade and Pine Bloom had stopped tailing Rita.

There was no point. Everyone was now shadowing Verdant Whisper · Windrush, hoping to encounter BS-Rita in the next ga.

No one could say for sure if Cat’s Ideal was still intact, but hunting down either BS-Rita or Verdant Whisper · Windrush was the safest bet.

B8017913 had even heard whispers from others: players from different Month The Parks were arriving at March The Park in large numbers.

Sweet Polo, watching BS-Rita open capsule after capsule in disappointnt, knew exactly what she was hunting for.

When she once again turned to her pet and muttered that odds were a lie, Sweet Polo couldn’t hold back anymore.

"I thought you’d leave the ga. Theoretically, you should’ve."

"Why?"

"Because your compatibility with Cat’s Ideal is exceptionally high. And its skills all lean toward safety, indulgence, hiding, distancing, and escape."

Rita, hand resting on the ship’s wheel nestled inside the gacha machine, turned and looked at Cat’s Ideal.
